Oh the irony. In the country where even getting concert tickets can happen with -gambling- gacha, you can't gamble.

@@waszner tbh I feel like Japan's attitude towards gambling is consistent. You can't really compare consert ticket gacha with actual gambling in a casino where you can lose your life savings overnight. Only thing that comes to mind that comes close to actual gambling is pachinko, and even then it's still illegal to play pachinko for actual money. It's just that establishments were desperate enough that they found work arounds to skirt the law. All in all, pretty consistent to me tbh.

Doing so much gatcha, even forcing it where it is absolutely not present normally, is not much better than gambling in my opinion. A lot of small things can very easily add up.
And at the end of the day, both are a matter of self control.

Although in your example, don't they use that weird ticketing system in order to prevent people who want to abuse reselling tickets at a much higher price? I heard of this because they talked about it in the pod, and I remembered how much of an issue ticket resellers are in my country and other countries like the US.
Multi Streaming would be good for CdawVA, he has such a big youtube presence already that doing both twitch and youtube just makes sense.
But twitch doesn’t want people to multi-stream that was kinda one of their biggest issues they want full control & commitment like a yandere mixed with an abusive Dominatrix.

Streams on ConnorDawg would make so much sense for good video streams. Just talking stuff or some random gaming sesh on twitch and stuff planned for vids on UA-cam so its easy to find the edited stream and the full stream
If you didn't sign the contract, there is no NDA to begin with. So you could totally disclose it.
This is true, but Connor is smart. He is fully aware of the law you are talking about.
Even if you haven't signed any NDA yet, it gives companies bad vibes if you just layout all of the details of someone who is trying to work with you when there hasn't been anything crazy or sketchy.
Everyone can assume what a Kick deal is like at this point, but it's still considered bad taste to go over details publicly (Without proper reason to)
That's why he felt comfortable implying something that is publicly assumed knowledge, but he wouldn't want to lay out all the little stuff. It's not because of law, it's because of his career.

@@m1LKbagzzactually no. They can't. It depends what laws your country has. For example here in Germany if twitch bans you for no reason you can simply sue them because that is actually illegal.
The most recent example is the streamer KuchenTV who got a perma ban in November 2023 on twitch without them giving any reason(not giving a reason is illegal. Even with a reason there is a whole procedure before they are allowed to do so). He sued and on the 30th of january the court ordered twitch to reinstate his Account asap.
And its not just twitch. We are talking for every kind of Account. PSN, Amazon, Twitter you name it. Many here got banned, simply sued, and HAD to be reinstated. Being a private company means nothing when your country has consumer protection laws. If you want to make Business in a specific country, you have to abide by the countries houserules.
He should just multi stream on UA-cam and twitch
I watch him on Twitch. I'd watch him on UA-cam, makes sense. I have not and will not sign up for Kick.
It's the same thing as his opinions with NFTs. Even IF NFTs could be viable, even IF Kick could be a good alternative, the truth is they just have a huge PR problem right now and is riddled with openly shady behavior. He should do what is best for him, of course, but I don't think going to Kick would be a "net positive" and the smartest move.

UA-cam is the smart move here. Its much easier to access
with how costumized his stream on twitch already is, i imagine it isn't that easy to switch over platform. But i agree in the long run youtube is better

@@hilihkintil6789 But it's such an *awful* streaming system. (As a long time Mod of a couple of twitch channels) the moderation and controls on UA-cam are just horrendous. If YT fixed that it'd be great and probably would put Twitch out to pasture but right now you can't really have control over your chat, and the raid system sucks, etc.
with his contract is done with twitch he can do multi stream in youtube and twitch cause honestly why not.. alot of people are trying or experimenting it.

I'm definitely biased because I spend most of my time on UA-cam, but I really think it would be the best alternative to Twitch. The Connordawg channel has roughly as many subscribers as Connors Twitch and it would make it much easier for viewers to have everything in one place.

I remember hearing how it was going to be bigger than UA-cam and Twitch streaming but then I stopped hearing about Kick for a long time. How is it doing?
From what I've seen, there's some growth, but a lot slower than people anticipated. It's the same thing with Rumble, these alternative sites only get so much growth cause the number of people who wanna watch gambling and people screaming slurs is unsurprisingly niche.
It's not going to surpass UA-cam and Twitch but they're growing. Last time i check they also have some LGBTQ streamers now

I much prefer Kick and UA-cam to Twitch. Twitch's ads situation is ridiculous. I click on a streamer to check out their vibe etc and instantly get 2 ads, then like 6 a few minutes later.

Register a company abroad, take the deal and stream. Check with a lawyer, should be a way around it since you're not running a gambling company inside Japan, you're just affiliated with a company abroad that has a legitimate business on an online plattform worldwide. Your target audience isn't even japanese. But again, check with lawyer, I have no idea about japanese gambling laws but there are usually ways around it that aren't even gray or shady.
Why spend all that effort to stream on shady site with a bad community? UA-cam is way more simpler and smarter since he already has a strong presence and community here, but if he moves to kick he’ll lose a lot of his followers.
How about he doesn't nuke his whole career just to partner up with a shit website and community that promotes metal disorders ?

He'd still be gambling while in Japan, regardless of where the company is registered he himself is still in a place where it's illegal to perform the action. Laws aren't that easy to circumvent and any judge would immediately call out that attempted bs. What matters is what he's doing and where, not where the money is coming from or going to, and even attempting to circumvent that will probably catch him fraud charges because he still has to pay taxes on income no matter where it comes from in the world as long as he's living in Japan and they don't tax illegal money, they just take it.
