AwoL AwoL I mean, they’re both seniors and in Plain Jane Fatass they talk about their birthday gifts from their dad so they’re either twins or adoptive siblings with very similar birthdays... most likely twins lol
I've seen this many times, but I just noticed, at the end, Peter looks at the empty space in the middle between him and Ivy. They space where Jason should be.
This is so heartbreaking as you begin to realize that Jason imprinted on all of the main cast and they have their own struggles that his death caused. Nadia realizes that, with going home, she has to explain to her parents that Jason won't be coming home. I also like to think that Nadia resents her father for this (As Jason's suicide was partly brought on by the stress of his father finding out about his relationship; Jason's dad is demonstrated to be violently homophobic) Matt has to live with the guilt of causing Jason's death (as another reason Jason took his life was because Matt constantly tormented him subliminally) Ivy resents Jason for leaving her alone with a child and she asks herself if it was right to fall in love with him. Peter asks himself if coming out to his mother was really the right thing to do, he asks himself if the Loss of his relationship was really caused by his own stress
They're catholic, so I'm going to assume so. It must kill Peter, knowing that Ivy has this piece of Jason and he doesn't. Sometimes I wonder if Ivy would have given the baby up for adoption, and Peter's the one that adopts it.
@@keeganhillier6899 possibly. i’d like to think they bonded after jason’s death without resenting each other. since jason had just died, and they had just graduated they would likely be headed off to college and ivy had her pregnancy so they both had a lot going on. it might’ve taken them a little while to get in touch but it’s nice to think that it happened.
tbh the actors gotta stop crying. I get its sad, but the audience are meant to cry by the beautiful meaning of the song and great voice. If the actors cry not only is it hard to understand what thye are saying, but also they lose that vocal power.
King Boo Lowrey I disagree , maybe the technical aspect will be gone , but the raw moment that is the end of the musical is felt more . Peter crying makes it more real and sad to the audience. There’s no happy ending for the main characters at all . As long as they’re aren’t shredding the note then it should be fine . Also , an actor must make sure that the emotion does not take control and right here it didn’t .
King Boo Lowrey it all depends on a person’s preference. Like Lindsay’s performance of " All Grown Up “ shakes me to the core. And I’m talking about the reunion concert because the emotion in that is amazing. And I love the emotional realism in contrast to vocal clarity ( if the note is not horrible)
Another perspective, which I think I've seen in other comments from this production, is that one of the creators of the show, Damon Intrabartolo, passed away in August 2013 and this production opened the following month. The actors playing Sister Chantelle and the Priest were also in the original Los Angeles production, so I imagine that made for an emotional environment for them.
I feel like people always forget that Nadia and Jason are twins
Oh, they are? I thought they were just siblings. That's cool to know.
AwoL AwoL I mean, they’re both seniors and in Plain Jane Fatass they talk about their birthday gifts from their dad so they’re either twins or adoptive siblings with very similar birthdays... most likely twins lol
I didnt realize they were twins until the second time I watched it lol
you can just hear the audience sobbing
The moment when Claire grabs peters hand I died

Why would you comment this now I'm gonna cry ;(((
Thank you SO much for seeing that!!!
The way Claire grabs Peter's hand and mouths "I love you" is such a heartwrenching part of the song to me. Like I ugly sobbed when she did that.
This show is sooooo amazing......Why isn’t it more popular?

Also, ultimately Peter is upset with society and how the world could be so cruel.
Alternate title: how to cry in 30 seconds or less
I feel like I’m the only person in the world hysterically sobbing to bare on this Friday night and to be honest I’m ok with that
dude im right here with you
ALL THE VOCALS IN THIS SONG ARE SO AMAZING AND NATHAN PARRETT'S (MATT'S) VOICE MAKES ME WANNA CRY EVEN MOREE AHHHH
Nadia's part always kills me
im not crying your crying
Actual goosebumps
oh no i’m crying
does anyone have any guesses as to whether Ivy kept the baby? I always wondered

@@sophiacontinues maybe Ivy and Peter grow close cause they both loved Jason, and Ivy doesn't want the child but Peter does? That could work

Joseph Sais, Fair enough, I disagree, but that's a good take.
Look at Falsettos for example. The audience are in tears, crying audibly but the actors never cry.
