i have a question. What's your take on an actor acting or studying all roles compared to an actor playing a character in the LGBT community specifically gay roles, could that be more interesting and believable as a person who is gay playing mostly gay roles. I hear a lot of stuff about this but some just say YOU SHOULD only do all roles, but I think the people who say that don't know much about acting themselves. you talk about schools, but are there even schools that focus on diversity of all roles including LGBT?
This is a great question! I think it's a very personal question as far as the type of roles you choose to play. I obviously can't tell people what they should and shouldn't do. I have never heard of a school specifically teaching that but I'm sure that is a conversation many people have in class. It really comes down to the project and what is needed. 🤔 But definitely an important conversation for the production to have in prepro before beginning the casting process.
Whats your take on imta/ipop conventions?
I believe those might be more towards modeling than acting? I don't have any experience with those. As far as conventions, I have been to the Southwest actors conference and really liked that!
