You've made an incredible channel. Thank you for the many hours such a quality production most require. Your efforts are exceeding that of many channels on UA-cam. Wishing you continued success in 2020. Keep them coming. Peace.

DeepseaOddities - I wanna just point out that Ctenophores (Comb Jellies) *aren't* generally bioluminescent at all. The reason we see the bright colours when we look at them is because of *our own* lights upon them. They propel themselves using bands of flurrying tendrils that are vibrating so fast that they actually diffract the light we shine on them into different colours. Their beautiful colours are actually because of our own lights shone upon them; they are not an intrinsic trait.
On some rare occasions, you can actually see ctenophores at a beach's surf. I saw one once at low tide, where it was between a sand bar with a bunch of smaller pools, and the ocean. It was honestly one of the coolest things in the world to see-keep an eye out for em around low tide.
That giant brown jelly genuinely seemed to be exploring that oil rig. Amazing. Further reinforces the both absolute absurdity of thinking we’re the only intelligent creatures on Earth as well as that we know nothing.
6:40 "Stygiomedusa Gigantea". That's a cool scientific name, but if I were to call it someway in my language I'd call it: "Fantasma de la Dama" (Madame's Ghost)
I once had a blind date with a Deepstaria Enigmatica, her (?¿) name was Rachel. She complained the whole time about how hot the coffee was and the inattention of our servers. We went back to her place and she said she had to get up early for church, on a Monday night. Not even a thank you or good night kiss. I hate to judge an entire species off of one date, but just don't date Deepstaria Enigmaticae. Btw, Rachel, I still want my copy of the Two Towers back!
@Bernard Matthews Turkey Drumsticks is it hate to fight for love? Is it hate to fight for your country? Is it hate to fight for your family? No! No, Mr Bernard! And it is not hate to ask for your directors cut version of The Two Towers on Blu-ray to be returned after 2 months, whether from a foe, a lover, a Deepstaria Enigmatica, or the very Gods and Dæmons that sever you from the ether and the here and where after! Lo! Should the planes of heaven and Hell, Valhalla and the sweet Elysium, all the the last reaches of the soul conspire, with all their minions, fiends, softer and harder, vengengful, and terrible angels to separate one from their Blu-ray copy of the The Two Towers (Directors Cut!), then hate be loved, and hate be no crime! Rachel! It's been 2 months without my Battle of Helms Deep, and without the sensuous, healing sunlight of your stinging, enwrapping touching of you gelatinous flesh.... a hate crime? You tell me. When does hate become the justice, and love the crime?
I had a similar experience with a Chlamydoselachus Africana, that bitch dumped me for another guy right there and then, in the middle of shopping mall. Never again.
Just by far one of the greatest channels on UA-cam or anywhere. The deep ocean and it's inhabitants have intrigued and delighted me since we found an angler fish washed up on Wingersheek beach in Gloucester,Ma. in 1960.
The first jelly is honestly the coolest fucking thing ive seen here. Like it’s cool enough with how much light the jelly has, but the thing literally glides like a UFO, and with such dexterity that I’ve never seen on other jellyfish. So, so, SOOOOO cool
it scares me to think, that if i was the one controlling those two lasers and i just pointed it out into the dark abyss and it stopped just a few feet in front of me...
Scientist names: We use the definition of the families along with a characteristic of the animal so it is easier to identify and see where it belongs to. Me: Ok, so how is this called? Scientis: Enigmatica Me: so that means.... Scientist : we have no fucking idea

Great vid my man. I’m sure u won’t be a hidden gem channel for much longer

These soundtracks are so atmospheric... That's Deep
straight to the point, no click bait, nice calming music, no nasally narration that takes 10 min. subscribed
These creatures look so delicate. It is wondrous how they have survived millions of years in the depths of the oceans.
They never meet a hard surface in their entire existence.

The Stygiomedusa Gigantea looks like a legendary Pokémon! What a magnificent creature.
The first jellyfish is like an anime girl’s contact lenses
I could watch this video over and over again and still be amazed at these creatures

Absolutely some of the most incredible creatures we've never seen.

Nice this channel found me it's now at the top of my list👍👍👍
Replaying Subnautica inspired me to research IRL deep sea creatures. That game and this channel has made me fall in love with the ocean all over again
wonderful uploads, thank you for the quality content in a world of copypasta
Whenever I watch these videos the forest temple music from ocarina of time plays in my head, that song and these creatures are both so surreal
OMG Yes!! Sometimes I get very immersive and surreal dreams that are set in the kokori forest/forest temple.
Wow some of these were filmed in 2009, 2010, and I've never seen those awesome jellyfish before. ❤ the content.
Such an underrated channel. You deserve more subscribers man! Keep it up!

What is so amazing about jellies is that they don’t have brains and yet they are so cool and graceful but they’ll never even know

What beautiful creatures!

the sea needs to calm down
I hope you guys release the full sound track
I think they have it on bandcamp
The stygiomedusa is just fucking beautiful. It literally looks like it's made out of silk.
I feel like the reason many of these creatures are so ancient but still existing is because humans don’t often have the opportunity to mess with them.
Chimaeras are adorable :v
Si son adorables!
Are these huge ships just piloted from surface or do they let people go down that far and keep it running ?
Most of them right now are controlled drone/ROV.

Petition to rename that first jellyfish "The Eye Of Cthulhu". Seriously, it looks just like the boss from Terraria.
Eye of Cthulhu but purple.

Amazing colours, very atmospheric. But what is function of colour in the dark depths.
