I learned to sew on a Featherweight, and have a pristine condition 301-A now and 13 of the top hat cams but never used them back when I sewed. Great and simple video!! THANKS...ESP for sewing on thicker denim and leather. I know this machine is a "workhorse" and can handle leather and denim.
I had this machine all through high school and then college . My room mate and I must have run a million miles of thread through it. Never quit on us. Great machine. I still own it but I use my Bernina now.

Hi, I have the Ace Vacuum & Sewing 842- 1146 but when I change the bottom for Zig Zag, I set the width in 3 the length in 20 and the others like normal: L and B..... The problem is when this start Sewing it makes a Short zigzag and then continuous sewing straigt 😭😭😭 please help
I followed your suggestions. Now the bobbin thread isn't catching at all. I then tried turning the little screw on the bobbin holder, first clockwise and then counterclockwise. Nada. Anything further I should try?
Hi so I have just acquired this exact machine. Mine is labeled 328J vs you said yours is a 328K. Not sure what the difference is but if you have any info on the 328J version I would greatly appreciate it thanks
I know you did this video sometime ago. Would you please tell me what your upper tension dial was on the zigzag, if you can remember? My 327k works best on 7 for the widest zigzag. Is that normal? I have taken it apart, cleaned, but still the same. Thank you.
Thank you for your question. It is adjustable for a reason, several really, otherwise the manufacturer would just set it at the factory with no need for adjustment right? So I encourage you to learn how to adjust your tension based on your project and how the stitching presents to you. There is no single number that is right for every instance. please help, I have recently acquired this machine and went to town with the cams but when I change them to fancy stitches I just keep getting regular zig zag, please tell me where I am going wrong or is there something wrong with the machine? please advise. Thanks
+Lem Chic Set your machine to full width and then set the stitch length to very short, like a satin stitch. This will help you to see the decorative stitch better. In fact, all the decorative stitches are a series of zig zag stitches that the cams vary the width and placement from side to side. I also put a link to the manual in the description.
Does anyone know how to put a light bulb in this machine? I had a guy clean and adjust it who has been working on sewing machines for 40 years. I am usually pretty mechanical too, but neither of us can figure out how to make room to get a bulb in.
Put in a fresh needle, re-thread your machine, clean out around your bobbin and hook area real good. That fixes most problems. Then Check your thread tension.

I have the chance of buying one and I wondered if being so close in name to the 328K it could be somehow similar in reliability and performance for heavy duty work (though it seems less versatile) Thanks in advance!
I am not sure of the machine that you speak of but you very well may be right. Look for all metal gears, judge the general condition, if good then pretty much any "Singer that meets those conditions is a winner. Good luck in your hunt.

I have a Singer 328K. and it is very good and reliable sewing machine.
How do I make it to where my needle. Catches the bobbin thread I would very much appreciate it if you had a video on how to do it

It is the same model manufactured in a different city. A quick search led me to this... J - Clydebank, Scotland : K - Kilbowie, Scotland

hello, when the needle is in center and right position it doesnt pick up the bobbin thread, can i adjust anything to fix this, thanks
You need to adjust the timing of the relationship between the needle and the hook.
