- Powerful Boeing EA-18G Growler is an American carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft, a specialized version of the two-seat FA-18F Super Hornet. The EA-18G Growler replaced the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowlers in service with the United States Navy. The Growler's electronic warfare capability is primarily provided by Northrop Grumman. The EA-18G began production in 2007 and entered operational service with the US Navy in late 2009. Australia has also purchased twelve EA-18Gs, which entered service with the Royal Australian Air Force in 2017.

Actually the EA-18G carries three jammer pods. It needs three to cover a wide range band to transmit in the Electromagnetic spectrum to jam the threat. It also uses antennas located in the wingtip pods to receive electromagnetic signals. There’s other sensors located around the airframe designed to interrogate a threat and fool it into transmitting a signal so a location fix can be obtained so that a weapon can be used against it.

You’re welcome. Just another note as well, the EA-18G shares the same airframe as the Block II Super Hornet and has a very similar cockpit but is internally wired differently on a separate production line to install the specialised equipment for the EA-18.
