I have been a Rick fan since I was 12 - and I am a guy. I grew up saving my lunch money and sneaking food to school - so I could have money to buy music cassettes. That is how I bought many of his cassettes.... I've seen him in concert many times, and I have all his stuff. When I was in college, I even tracked down his old 70s albums *(his was prior to the internet). And, I was fortunate enough to meet him at a charity tennis event in Tuscon, and get a bunch of CDs covers signed (this was right when Karma came out). I have them all in 1 frame on the wall. To this day, Rock of Life and Tao are my favorites CD of his. But, I have enjoyed his more recent CDs too. Karma is a great CD. Songs for the End of the World is a great CD. And, I liked most of Rocket Science. Venus in Overdrive was great too. I get that he is going for a different sound on different albums. He is getting older, and wants to do something different. I get that. But, I will say that this is probably my least favorite CD of his. There are 8 songs I listen to - the rest I don't care for. And of those 8, I probably really love about 5 of them. I was hoping for something better, I will admit. And, I hope this is not his last CD he releases.

Wow. If you've heard Carry Me Away or Lust, or if you've read his autobiography, Works For Me shouldn't come as that much of a surprise. Personally, I like this better than Shock Denial, which is a little hard for my personal taste, and he was doing something different vocally that I couldn't quite get used to, but he sounded like himself again by Songs For the End of the World. However, I do really love Angels of the Disappeared and Will I. But this new album has a lot of hooks that I find just irresistible.
And I do love ADAA. It spoke more truth about his life. All that I understand. Even Jesus saves white trash Which there is a message to that one. He explained it too. It was a rough album but it was more of a coming out with the truth thing I enjoyed that very much. 👍
So you don't like Rick using the f word and you don't like religious references so what is it? You can't have it both ways. He's lived a life and gone through stuff and it's not for you to judge anyone's lyrics. Oh you have a small cross on your wall. If it's not a cross then you're not a hypocrite but if it is than you need to go ---- yourself!

So he is forgiven ? Thank god he had a woman that stands beside him AND SO HIS WIFE HAS ALSO GONE THROUGH STUFF. He wasn’t thinking of that while getting it on with someone else right ? Yes I read his books too 😄 He put his wife through hell ! He is just very lucky she didn’t walk away and take him for every thing he has God bless her too. I appreciate your feedback. I would like to say about myself that I am not one of those regular fans that like and love everything a person does. Just so that I can be part of anything. I never follow anyone Lol. Like I say I really wanted to like this but it’s a rough one for me I doubt if he will ever retire he has too large of a major following. But the sound of this album is very commercial for me .. sounds like many artists doing the same thing now a days. Ugh. I feel bad that I even say that but I can’t lie about my view either. @@Tinkerellastreasuretrunk Rick is an older guy, he is still trying to be young, and he stopped evolving. His face looks full of Botox, why is this important, because he refuses to grow older,and his music the same, feels stale without any real evolution. There's nothing bad with growing old and evolving. Loved Karma, was his last great record, felt like an evolution. After that he has had some great songs but never a great album.

And rock of Life as well The Rick of life album he was going on tour this would have been my very first time seeing him Live I had 3rd row center here at Radio city music hall but a week later after getting the tickets we had to return them for a refund as Rick got into an ATV bike accident. I didn’t get to see him until many years later I gave up at that point. LOL.
And I laugh I wanna point out here that it’s very kind to get a man’s point of view on this subject. I appreciate this and I’m laughing because NO WOMEN fans came here to defend themselves from what you said. 😂👍
I have to ask if youre even a fan? Worst of his career? Far from it. Every record has a different sound. Thats evolving. And his legion of fans dont want him to retire. There is not one 73 yr old rock star out there that can still put out quality music and still look like he does.
