Finding good domains that haven't been misused in the past used to take a long time. Checking the metrics, looking at the backlink profile for spam, going through its entire history on web.archive.org - it would take hours filtering a bunch of domains just to find that diamond in the rough.
When Dom Cop came it, it was a step in the right direction as it would give you all the different domain metrics all on one screen so you didn't have to go through each one step by step.
