    Is the overnight necessary because of the pumpkin or just preference? Was going to make to eat tonight.

      It just tastes better cooled. It's how Flan is traditionally done. You want it to set. Overnight is best way to do it.

      Definitely necessary, it helps it set and firms up the flan. Preferably let it cool overnight

    Mine is so soft in the middle what did I do wrong

      It should be a bit jiggly in the middle, to firm it up put it in the fridge overnight..
