Genuine leather is the marketing terminology, it may or may not be pure leather. Full grain, top grain leathers are pure leather. 'Genuine' is a leather equivalent of 'particle borad' although particle board is technically wood it's not the same as 'solid wood'. You don't get a good quality leather bag under 5k, they are either made of bonded leather or poly coated slit leather (leather waste)
what u said is right just a correction "genuine" leather is the 3rd layer after full grain and top grain what u mentioned is called a bonded leather which is the least of all...the term GENUIN leather is loosely used in india by many ppl...by the looks of it most of the articles seems to be top grain only tho they may be from the tanneries from Agra or Kanpur so cheaper in cost also the price of a leather also increases by the way it is milled and processed but usually in west not in india which export most of it's leather and the scraps turn up to Indian manufacturers

People looking at this - Genuine Leather is a marketing term which is being exploited by sellers. Genuine here does not mean original real leather. The seller did not mention even once if this is Top grain, Full Grain or what kind of leather. “Genuine Leather” is not real leather

These cheap leather products are made from split leather (what they call genuine) is a leather waste after the leather manufactures remove the full grain for the more expensive ones.
