Hey, yes you do but when you get your proposal you will receive an email with all the documents you need. so if they need you to do the STCW training they'll let you know, it depends on the cruise line.

Hey MSC is coming to my home country to recruit ppl for 9 and 10 OCTOBER i did not get chance to apply online and registration is close should i still go to the interview and try my luck?
Hey sorry for the late reply but this depends if they do not accept walk ins then don’t go buy if they do then you can try. Or just go to MSCs careers website and apply on there and hopefully they reply.

Hey I think they should allow it I’m not sure it depends on the cruise line you work for. But to be on the safe side ask your doctor or the doctor you did your cruise ship medicals with to write you a later that says you need them. But if you did your cruise ship medicals already then I think that information is already included in your medicals just double check.

vaccines were required? what were they?
Yes you need to do a couple of vaccines when you do your medicals…you’ll get a vaccine yellow card with all of them

Hey yes I paid for my own visa which was R2650/ $140 and when I got on board they paid me back.

Hey, send your passport, they usually want people who already have passports first so before the interview they need to make sure that you have that at least🤔

@@mbulelondlebe9407 Usually when you do your cruise ship medicals they’ll ask if you vaccinated or not then if you not they’ll tell you where you can get it and if let’s say it’s not available anywhere in SA anymore then just let your agent know and you can get it on board. I got my booster shot onboard in Miami.

what is stcw and these abbreviated words they use for the cruise ship?
STCW means Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for seafarers it’s the sea certification training you get.
There’s a lot of other terms they use yes, I can do a video about this as well🤔💖

@@ayandalukoto7745 hey I studied graphic design but they usually look at experience more then anything unless you’re applying for the medical department on board and want to be the doctor then they’ll probably look at your experience and qualifications
How long did the whole process take you to gather most of your documents from home ?
Hey i would say roughly about 2 months to get everything if you’re first contract but I think I would have received everything in 1 month if I didn’t get dates with big gaps.
For example my STCW training took 11 days and when I booked for it they told me the next available date was the following month so I had to wait. (The earlier you book the better)
Medicals take 1 day but then again I had to wait for the date when the doctor comes to Joburg. Then after your medicals you wait for like 5 days then they deliver everything to your house. But with some companies you get your medicals on the same day after doing them💯
Visa is usually 1 day you can get it the day of your interview but what took long is waiting for the interview date and that’s where my agent helped me with getting an interview date that’s closer
Do you know if you can request to go onto a particular ship or work in a particular country. I have an interview with starboard
@@Thatgirlcurly Hey good luck with your interview💖 Usually if you’re first contract they choose for you but you can ask your agent for the ship you want and if they need people there, then they’ll send you to that ship
