    I was there! Quite near the front and further to the left. What a day! Thanks for posting.

      Same here. We still laugh at how awful Chicks on Speed were.

    I was there for this - I am sure I can remember the Chili's having a go at the crowd for the reaction that Chicks on Speed got when they came on.

    Proud to say I was at this gig 😁 that performance of Parallel Universe was one of the best live performances I've ever witnessed.
    I saw them again this year in Singapore and although they're still good, there's a noticeable hole in the sound where Frusciante used to be. His second stint with the band was when he really completed them, and the stuff they produced in the late 90s/ early 00s was just immense.

      Denim_DnB they were spectacular for sure, with the end jam being played concurrently 😃 what an unforgettable experience.

    oh man, my first ever concert. I had no idea there was a video bootleg. Blew my little head right off, was only 14! Now i'm full time pro bass player. I lost my voice in the James Brown set shouting 'FLEA!! FLEAA!!' because he was on the side of the stage as they played. Awesome gig, shitty crowd. Much like the next time I saw them, Sheffield on Stadium Arcadium tour. Honest to god, straight up animals that crowd like.

      My first gig to! I was also 14! I remember listening to them on the radio all week at school and there was no tickets in Manchester. I went to my uncle's house that weekend and he had surprised me with tickets! I remember watching james brown from the 3rd tier and someone was throwing bottles while he was on stage, when Antony kiedis came out he had a go at the dickheads!

      I was at that Sheffield show too, I started out central at the front but me and my friends (see what I did there?) had to move off to one side before RHCP came on because the crowd was just too much! I also saw them at Edinburgh on the same tour as this show.

      I was there! I was 14!! I remember the first support band was a great all girl rock band and the crowd tried to bottle them offstage - I remember vividly the chili's coming on stage and threatening to call off the rest of the show!

      Wow I really struggle to agree I think the boys were not on form this whole tour. The setlist was not good either. Went to the Cardiff show was great for it being my first show seeing them, but loved it way more in 2006, and 2011. John was in a really bad mood that night too.

      @@StevieV oh don’t say things like that please 😂 Frusciante needs to be in a good mood when I see RHCP in Glasgow next Summer; otherwise I’ll have wasted a truck load of cash and I’ll be crying all the way home! Seriously though, any live show is unpredictable, is it not?

    Great gig marred by disgusting behaviour from the crowd to Chicks on Speed one of the support acts.

    • @lukasl5239
      @lukasl5239 4 роки тому +2

      just watched the chicks on speed gig bc I got really intrigued after Anthony & John reprimanding the crowd. However the booing was totally justified in my opinion as every karaoke singer can do just as equally well as this band. They should stick to really, really small crowds which truly appreciate this weird stuff. Throwing stuff on stage was totally unnecessary obviously.

      @Leofwine. 4 роки тому

      @@lukasl5239 Totally. I was there and they were terrible. Throwing things at them was wrong. John came out and called us all fascists...didn't appreciate that.
