You must be seriously insane to build that.

      Hello
I hope he/she got a fair price for this work of art at least 2500 euros or ideally even 3500
Building materials are very expensive and also you can't put a price on the skills needed when doing this by hand only which takes time and a lot of patience.
That's why I wrote above in favour of demanding a fair price. It's almost like painting an oil paint replica after a Rembrandt's painting.
Those works of art are sold for even tens of thousands of euros/dollars.

It`s a beautiful model but it is not the San Felipe as doing some research shows, as this ship did not exist, and is more likely the "Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion y de las Animas" of 1690.

What a shame this Spanish ship design was just though up my a model kit designer. It's a beautiful ship. We know so little about the exact appearance of Spanish triple deckers and there are so few artists renderings to go by. The stern balconies are different than any Spanish design I have seen thus far. They are unique.

It's not the Nuestra Señora de la Concepcion y de las Animas, it's basically a ship build using the shipbuilding method proposed by Gaztañeta, that's why it's similar to the Nuestra Señora

Also Mantua made the stern decorations differently than the original plans from the departamento de falanges

if you can afford better order it from someone who actually has the experience, love and patience/time to do it nicely and professionaly for you
This is not a ship for beginners just as an FYI
It's a pity to be disappointed when you see it takes at least 1 year if you have a full time 8h per day job and only set aside one hour per day building the model itself.
For those who does this for a living this model can be accomplished in about 2-3 months of every day of work specifically only for shipmodeling

Donate it to a museum instead.
