Leibniz attempt at using mathematics to reconcile differences reminds me of Ramon Lull a 13th century mathematician, polymath, philosopher, logician, writer and mystic from the Kingdom of Majorca who also was obsessed with reconciling matters of faith between the Catholic church and Islam. His reasoning being that once they saw the answers to all the questions the Muslims would have no option but to renounce their faith and convert to Catholicism. Once he had perfected his 'system' he travelled to Morocco to convert the souls there and was stoned to death. Leibniz work on Binary has led to him being called 'the father of binary' although the history of its use goes back into antiquity. In fact he found it easier to use binary arithmetic than logarithmic tables which were used to do computations (until he invented the adding machine).
Hello! Johann von Neumann was my next planned documentary, but I am leaning towards Swedenborg. I would like modern music to accompany the one on Johnny and that means I'd need to compose it myself. I'd also have to pore over his work, which is voluminous and technical. Unfortunately, I can't do him justice at this point in time. :)
Adam Alonzi Did you do this because you enjoyed studying Leibniz at some point? There are few videos about Leibniz that summarize his life and work in an accessible way.
The map at 0:07 is hilarious! Stettin (in Eastern-Pomerania) is written "Szczecin", Breslau (in Lower-Silesia) reads as "Wroclaw", BUT Poznan (in the Kingdom of Poland) is spelled "Posen" :D I hope this wasn't taken from a textbook for history.
Very good work. Thank you. Only that I don't see the point of citing Russell on the religion of Leibniz... You take Russell out of philosophy of mathematics and it's all non sense. It s like quoting Justin Bieber.

Leibniz! Genius with an enormous universal love for humanity! God blessed us for his great life, achievements and ongoing legacy!!! 🙂🌻💛🙏
This has likely bettered my life. Thank you
The visuals often haven't got much to do with the topic under discussion.

Last statement is cut off...
I'm looking forward to a piece about von Neumann and/or Norbert Wiener. I thank you for sharing.

Very nicely done...Thanks...

thank you for this
Shame about the sound quality...the doc is very good
very well done, i just wished the audio was a bit higher quality though.
Yes. I just realized my software does not by default export the highest quality mp3. :) Live and learn.
I very much enjoyed this! Excellent job.
Swedenborg! Neat! I teach at a Swedenborgian college.
Es tut mir leid! ;)
