In Season 2 Maddy looked like she was gonna get back with Nate but she stayed firm.She got a babysitting job and genuinely explored her life as a single girl.Even when faced with a heartbreaking betrayal from Cassie & Nate, Maddy surprisingly stayed mostly calm.Besides fighting Cassie at the end which is justified,she gives advice and moves on.
The part where she couldn’t even leave Cassie alone when she betrayed her); her heart was always huge and I feel her soooooooo much through out this entire show .
I love how Maddy is loyal & values her friendships with all the girls, and how much she cares for her friends & invests herself in her relationships with them.
Maddie was a strong character but she also had a weakness. She was strong to stay away from Nate but had the tendency to go back. Despite knowing he was abusive she was willing to go back. Cassie’s betrayal stopped her from repeating the cycle and it ended up convincing her to save her life and look to the future.
100% my fav character. She does deserve better tho like I understand her character is meant to be cool fashionable IT girl but her actual life is sad. People overlook it tho cause she tends to hide her emotions more.

The same thing that happened to Maddie basically happened to me with my ex (he wasn’t abusive or anything) my bff of 15 YEARS started crushing on my ex (current bf at the time) then got mad at me for being “insecure”. Then when he broke up with me, literally the day after the break up she said she would come and hangout with me and we could go running together. She ended up canceling the plans because she had to go to her grandmas, except she never did. She went to a party with my ex. But unlike Maddie, i had no other friends to support or help me. So, I really, rrrealllyyy feel for Maddie.
I really loved her evolution this season, she is genuinely as innocent as crazy xD, how she ends up making huge mistakes, but she stands up to it with courage

They had just fought and "broke up" not too long before that and they were planning on getting back together again. When they were always broken up it was never truly broken up, you know how it is with on and off relationships unfortunately. Cassie knew this cuz Maddy always confided in her about the toxic relationship, but cassie hooked up with him anyways.
