SEEMS PRETTY FISHY HERE, KINDA ILLIADIC
I personally believe Illiad is a fictionalized account relating a impactful multicultural memory of a bronze age world war1,2 and 3.

Agree. Historian Peter Connolly even said that the duel between Hector and Ajax must be an earlier legend. The giant hero with armor that reflects more a 15th century BC champion with his eight-shaped shield, which puts Hector in the same way with another big shield in his back.
I think it was a precursor and an influence to the later more famous Trojan War
@@ecurewitzcould be, but it’s a strong possibility that the Trojan war is a fiction loosely based on this conflict.
@@IPlayWithFire135 possible? im sold on it even the name sounds like priam and greeks told the story about a war they couldnt remember that well anymore or it changed over the years. book it
what a great video on such a mysterious period of time, bronze age western anatolia has been neglected in archaeology.
Maybe somebody should write an epic poem about all this.
It would be a classic.
I don’t know. It’s Greek to me.
😊😊they might call it the Idiot and the Oddity
It would also, if a tragic inter-ethnic love interest was added, make a great movie;)
Homer did it already to tell the story. Piyamaradou is Achilles in Iliad ;) Alexandu is Paris of Troy (2nd name if Paris was Alexander)
Thanks for another great video! ❤I also need to visit Hattusa ;)
Thank you from stepping by and sharing such feedback! Some more videos on the fall of the Hittite empire will likely come in the following months!
@@WanaxTV great news :)
WONDERFUL
THANKS FOR VIDEO🙏
My grandparent's village is 70 km away from Hattusa. I have been at Hattusa multible times and it was always astonishing me when i was there during my childhoon :) however, humans made their living always, and we will as long as there is H2O ))
Piyamaradu has one of those sea peoples hats.
Piyamaradu Is here represented as a phelestim! (The image came from the egiptian Temple of Ramsess III in Medinet Abu).
man, i am so happy you improving the quality of the videos, KEEP GOING
watching at the beginning of May 2022, this video has very modern parallels.
Perfect title… A gray rainy day, a Xanax and some awesome history.
You are good in writing tales .
Love your videos. keep up the good work!
I'm loving your channel, these are such high quality videos!
incredible !
Great Episode 👍
That head gear looks awfully similar to what egytian images depict as one of the sea peoples.
If we are going to judge by the head dress, he fit from the Philistine to the People of the Sea. Perhaps the majority of the non - Hittite /Egyptian did wear it. The records are confusing and written by the "last winner".
maybe it was a bronze age fascion back in the days?
Militos and Ephesos, the cities were logic was born, and myth was put to the grave... That was later than this video´s events... But was maybe the single most important event in human history... Nevertheless, that doesn´t mean that myth extincted back then, 2600 years ago, since there´s still many believing in myth, like religious people for example... Classical Greece laughs at them ;-)
I notice Piyamaradu's headdress looks an awful lot like a Philistine one
people think they could have been sea people after greeks burned troy
i think piyamaradu is achillies and alexander is paris of troy hes second name. Atras like atreus in greek is agamemnons father lol. and etiocles is a prince of thebes in bronze age.
maybe homer give piyamaradu a greek name cuz hes fighting with the aceans. and hector a fantastik character to be more dramatic
Piamaradu perhaps Is Priamos
Piyamaruntu=the one who guards the drinking water
who invented the pyjama ?
The headgear is exactly the same as depicted in the Egyptian art of the sea people
For some of them, absolutely. In particular the leader receiving the smite of Ramses III on one of the reliefs of his primary mortuary temple.
I am assuming that Piyamaradu’s people became one of the sea peoples later on. I recognize the headdress from Egyptian artwork.
Sammeee
Your list of previous releases convinced me; i am subscribed...
Good Job.
The Achaeans were just screwing with Hatushilli’s head 😂
I hope you keep at this man and have great success because your reach is quality and delivery is enjoyable. Thank you and keep up the great work please
Oops I mean research
I think piyamaradu was especially hated by tarhunta and apallusa governance
~Such an exemplar enemy was he that the Hittites' lesser enemies made huge statues of him to mark the burials of their kings~
What ethnicity was Piyamaradu? If he was Arzayan, were these people Indo-European?
Indo-European? A theory never proven to be correct, as there have never been found: artifacts, language, alphabet, literature, cemeteries. There are 16 words, maybe 20 that are common to all lanuages. But then again all babies say "mum" when they are hungry.
Yes, if I'm not mistaken Arzawans were Indo-European. Weren't they a luwian people?
is Piyamaradu a Philistine, because he looks like a Philistine, i mean his hat is a like a philistine, as i see maybe they were living in the Aegean, but later when competing in the war as the Peleset from the Sea Peoples, in the Late Bronze Age Collapse, later they migrated in Canaan and were called the Philistines, archenemy of Israel
Thanks for stepping by! The image I used for Piyamaradu is actually a slightly modified Sea Peoples person, so that it symbolizes his status as an outlaw warlord. He was most likely an Arzawan. There are no known depictions of him.
@@WanaxTV ah okay, thanks for the answer
what did the Hetaeans call their people?
do we know each other?
because all these names were made freely from the Thora and from fragments of Greek mythology
This is not credible when you write from the wedges
that we do not know the structure of the language nor the grammar and syntax
because we are talking about dead languages
we make up imaginary stories that don't exist
Excellent work! Makes sense of a heretofore incredibly convoluted set of ancient documents, both the Hittite texts and the Greco-West Anatolian Luwian traditions known to Homer.
name Mira ... interesting that in Lydian language word miren means "man" ... and place names having root "mur" were very often in western Anatolia even in classical Greek times ... Myrina on island Lemnos ...
is a Greek word from ,,mιro,,---,,μιρο,, which means fragrant
smells good
Where do you get your primary sources for this info?
Piyamaradu was mentioned in numerous Hittite letters and documents. I'd suggest "Letters from the Hittite Kingdom" by Hoffner and Beckman.
@@WanaxTV thank you!
Can you please cite your sources? I love your videos, but they're mostly fiction. If you could cite your surces it would be a great insight into understanding how you pieced together this narrative.
Actually they are not. He takes his information from relatively unknown Hittite records, such as "The Indictment of Maduwata". Also you can look up the name "Piyamaradu" and "ta-ra-si-wa" in google, and the sources will show up.
I also had a hard time believing this was true because ever since I was a child, I thought that this Mycenaean age is mostly unknown and cloudy, turns out there is some information available
What is your source of information? There were no historians at that period...
There Are actually letters between Hittite and Hatti kingdoms' and many feudal lords who were discussing raids and the current status of Piyamaradu
Piyamaradu was probably Achilles of Iliad. His story has way a lot of similarities to ignore. Achilles made a lot of expeditions in Anatolia before attacking Troy.
The historian Konstantinos Kopainas wrote an article called "Deconstructing Achilles" suggesting that the homeric hero was based in the Piyamaradu's campaigns. And also I read that the amazon queen's name Penthesilea is similar to Hatussili. So, in that case is true what Bryce says about the Trojan War: is the coleective memory of several trials by the Mycenean greeks to have influence and power over the Luwian territory since the time of the Assuwa league, focusing in the dispute over Wilusa. The resistance of the Hittites until the Bronze Age collapse and the different invasions over Wilusa along this time is what we can see as the historical background of the homeric poems.
Also for me is very interesting the historical background of the other great greek cycle: Thebes and the argive coalition against Eteocles. Nobody until now paid special attention in the historicity of that cycle

Hatussili /Hatussali= the high from Hatusha
Plot twist: Piyama-Radu is the luwian/hittite name for Hercules.
I noticed the same thing
I also thought that that
Thats my idea alsoa
piyama soumnds alot like priam and alexander was the othe name of paris of troy.
Manatarhunta= All pride with us
Was Piyamaradu Hercules?
No
Achilles
Brilliant vid
So good. Better and better
Thank you my friend! Much appreciated!
Excellent video. Stop dramatizing your narration, it's annoying
Great stuff here Fanax
Hatussa/hatausha=the one with terribly great glory
Albanian=the one with delusions of historical grandeur
This vas a great great video. All the loose information about such a far age put together and animated. Very enjoyable.
The only suggestion I have for this channel is the volume is a bit low 😂
Where is Istanbul on your map? Just wondering
Thanks
Appreciate it!
