I was a big fan of strafing with my fighters and defending my BB's way back in the day, never was a great damage farmer but it was great to be able to counter cross drops. I am not a great fan of the cv's these days but bringing the counter gameplay back is awesome. Just had a match where the cv reversed into the border and all I did was drop the fighters just outside his bubble and rotating them and completely nullified him. Still managed to get a 100k damage in between.
I find it interesting, there's only realy two thoughts on these carriers "They are horrible and way worse than Midway line" "They are really good and play amazing"
That describes basically any team dependent ship in this game. The same can be said for ships like Brisbane, Belfast'43, hell, even Tiger'59. Extremely oppressive when they have reliable teams, absolute junk otherwise.
@@forge16hanadamaintenancedr43 I just bought Tromp, a friend of mine was complaining how bad it was and didn't have any influence. Yet here I am completely stopping 3 BBs from pushing us at full speed
I'm an AA junky, I use Oland and can usually (almost always 90%+) defeat CVs via Oland's mix of strong AA + VG maneuverability. Have taken up CVs for a while mostly to find/seek your weakness. Hope like hell that someday we fight, not many even give me a challenge, but you would for certain. Wouldn't be worth it. The built in ER is a deal breaker, giving you offensive opportunities on the fighters. With it the enemy CV is forced to recall immediately when you summon the fighter on them, otherwise they can still land an ongoing strike without being punished or just turn away unscathed.
Go normal strike build with every other CV. This new line has a specific build they will be running. You can use a strike build on them, but over cv cannot use your support CV build
@@ReiYukihyo I kinda figured, defensive fighter build on E had been on the back of my mind for awhile, but couldn't justify spending points on ER to make it work
I think good sub players will be able to counter this line hard because they'll easily be able to shotgun a cv that pushes up, smoke or not. However, if there is no sub, or the sub player doesn't understand to go for the pushed up cv, then this line really doesn't have any opposition.
I wish I could see your captains build. you mentioned one and three pointer fighter build. its search and destroy and interceptors correct?? but where to put the remaining points I do not know. I have 21 point captain.
You need at least 4 more points for the enhanced reaction skill on top of the conventional obligatory 9 points for CV, then slowly build up for the rest of the fighter skills. Enhanced reaction is a game changer, the rest are not.
I don't like were this this is going. Its a lot of fun if you use it yourself but it has no counterplay. Now the whole anit-CV crowd cheers of course, until they discover that this will be pretty much RTS days: 1 skilled CV player with Essex / Yorktown will completely nullify the other CV and feast on his team. I guess for T8 ranked Popeda would be the best bet to avoid the fighters or deal high alpha damage to Yorktown right?
From what it seems like with their upcoming CV rework plan and with this new line, they want to increase the skill gap once again. Soviet CV is good pick to fight Yorktown's fighters. You won't be able to deal damage to it if she plays it well and times smokes properly

Seeing the fighters and stuff. Things like Indomitable would be kinda unbothered no?
im waiting for the indomitable matchup. but you could be right
Whats your recommendation on a captain build? I got yorktown not too long ago and am still trying to learn it
Check my UA-cam channel's community tab. I posted a document of builds
This ship is very good for trolling, the enemy CV smoked our BB flank 😂
Off Topic- what are you using to display your kb and mouse? BTW- thanks for the video!

Would it be viable to run an Essex/Yorktown fighter captain on Enterprise? Or is the lack of the built-in ER simply not worth it?

All gangsta untill the daughter of mao ze dong smokes the enemy ships

The ship is good for teamplay but the game does not reward teamplay.
Rewards with a win. Good enough for me
What voice pack mod is this

Check my community post on my yt. It'll show builds doc
Fighters go ho hoo.
I played with some Yorktown and the smoke is def nice for when you are a dd trying to cap
What voice do you use rei
Do I need max lvl captain for her to be effective? Because the interceptor-line skills are pretty expensive

This line would prefer a built up commander if possible. At least 13pts (two 1pt, one 2pt, three 3pt). Don't go Enhanced Reactions
@@ReiYukihyothanks for the answer. I really want yorktown but I guess I will wait for her tech tree release while grinding in captain for her.
That defense is suffocating, it aint fair. Vote yorktown for defensive player of the year.
are you at risk of being cv sniped or is the aa good on this line?
aa is similar to the other t8 carriers. you're always at risk of being sniped but you have smoke and best fighters for defense.

Stout gameplay
What's the build you're using in this video?
builds are in my community post, essex one
@@ReiYukihyo Thank you!
when is the cv rework
no idea
Come on, that's disgusting
not as bad as other t8 strike focused carriers imo. this one just takes a more defensive role
Woo hoo
