Loads of nice colour plates and bonus that the weapons have pictures of what they are. Always a plus. You can always describe a weapon but showing players is better.
There's so much to love in this book, it looks fabulous and has a real attitude of it's own. I'll admit that I'm not a fan of the world, but there's so much else to draw you in.
"Mutant" was a Swedish RPG developed by target games/ äventyrsspel the first iteration was a post apocalyptic "mad max"-style game but set in scandinavia. It lent a lot of features from classic dungeons&dragons and it's swedish adaptation "Drakar & Demoner", but re-interpreted in a sci-fi post apocalyptic setting. The second iteration of "Mutant" had a new cyberpunk setting inspired by comics like "Judge Dredd" and the manga "Akira" and movies like Blade runner. By the time of the third iteration (mutant chronicles), the developers had great sales sucess in Sweden and abroad, so they went big and created a game with a much deeper lore, lots of rule books, lots of artwork et cetera. This was in the heyday of penand paper rpg's. Paralell to mutant cronicles they also released a completely re-worked version of their fantasy rpg title "Drakar och demoner" Computer games killed them a few years later. The developers sank a lot of money in to creating a computer game that flopped big time. Mutant cronicles was also adapted into a tabletop game and a "magic" style card game that saw some sucess.
I knew part of that, but wasn't aware of it all, so many thanks for letting me know. Wasn't aware of the connection between Mutant and Drakar & Demoner (recently kickstarted as Dragonbane), and given how different in tone they seem it's amazing to discover that connection. Very much appreciated.
Cybertronic was the exception to the negative effects the Dark Symmetry had on technology. How much of this Dark Legion/Dark Symmetry corruption effect was genuine and how much was exaggerated to fear monger competitors from producing technology, the Brotherhood included...
I've only got a limited amount of Mutant Chronicles books, but from what I've got it appeared that there were hints that Cybertronic was somehow conspiring or effected by the Dark Symmetry to gain it's advantage. But that could just be bias from their competitors trying to make them look bad.
The lore always seemed ridiculous to me, but was totally compelling to read. The idea of a demonic barrier around the solar system, it totally over-the-top "Doom" levels of crazy, but the background of the corporations and reaction to this crazy idea was brilliant. I haven't seen the remake. Mutant Chronicles is one I loved having for my collection, but never got around to playing.
I like the latest 2d20 RPG from Modiphius. It's such a crazy mish-mash, you can run just about any kind of theme you can think of. Especially with the tons of info in the sourcebooks and three different time periods available.

Best... lore... ever. They should make a modern Mutant Chronicles video game (and a better Movie). Did You like the remake RPG from Mophidus?

The question which has plagued us since this RPG was first released in the USA.. Why the heck is Ozzy Osbourne on the back cover??
Well, those Europeans do love their Heavy Metal don't they!
you could've mentioned mega drive and super nintendo game from 1995. it's a distinct product among many other contra clones and platformers.
I could have, but wow, I wasn't aware it existed, and now just must find an emulated copy to try out. Cheers for letting me know about it.

On the planet Nero the imperial soldiers brake a seal and releases the dark legion.
This game resembles too much warhammer 40 000
I really think it's more Doom the RPG, marines vs demons.
