I had to wait so long to finally play this! I've only ever played the regular Budokai games for the GameCube and this is basically all that plus so much more. The combat is improved dramatically and there's just so much more story to go through. I don't want to use this comment to compare the games against each other, but I do want to say that all the things I disliked about the other games are not present in this title. One of the best things about this title is that you actually get to enjoy and experience the different transformations. After Goku's first Super Saiyan transformation, you unlock the ability to go Super Saiyan in all upcoming (and previous) chapters. In Budokai 2, you were required to start the game all over again if you wanted to do that. Anyway, I tried my best with this recording. I used all characters available as well as their transformations and different special attacks. I made sure to try to choose my characters based on the story as much as possible. The gameplay is good but I'm sure some purists will complain otherwise :D My literal only complaint with this game (besides some storylines getting a little drawn out and repetitive) is the item system. The game basically allows you to buy items that give stat points. When any of your characters have these items equipped, they will get upgraded over time. A +1 attack boost will eventually turn into a +10 attack boost. You can also later buy these +10 attack boosts directly from the shop, just incase you've fallen behind on it by forgetting to equip these items to your characters. Now, this doesn't necessarily sound like a bad idea but going through the menus and scrolling down a list of 100 items to equip your characters with a bunch of these stat boosters is annoying and takes too long. What makes it worse is that the game doesn't feature just one Goku, it features a bunch of them. Oh you just got done equipping Goku with all his items? Well here's Second Goku that needs these items also. As you can probably guess, I didn't really bother equipping any of these stat boosters to my characters. I did it a few times in this video, enough to show off, but it just took too much time and flow away from the video. You don't need them to beat the game and if you want easier fights, just pick an easier difficulty. In hindsight I'm really glad I didn't bother too much with any of it because our UA-cam limit is 12 hours and this video is less than 10 minutes shy from it, so I would've had to split the video up if I messed around in the menus too much. Overall, I'm really happy with how this video turned out. I've read some reviews about how the sequel is even better, but this is the one that really started it all. I'm curious to see what you guys have to say and I plan on getting to the sequel soon.
