Recently I bought a 6 pack of Hamm's 16 ounce cans for $3.99 here in western Kentucky and really enjoyed them. My coworkers couldn't believe how a "beer geek" like myself could drink Hamm's. But it's not bad. Thanks for the review. I knew I wasn't nuts for drinking it.
Just found Hamms tonight, in a 24 pack for $11.98, at my local Walmart. Glad I listened to you! I just had a dinner of angus hamburger, sour cream & onion chips, and so far I’m on my fourth Hamm’s. It’s a great Friday night to be a single man. 🍻
Great review! I remember my dad and my grandpa drinking Hamm's on Sundays (late 70's/ early 80' s) while grilling some burgers and steaks with the family!!
Read an article today that Hamms beer sales is up 96 % than the previous 5 years I believe it said. I’ve made this my regular go-to beer and have been telling my neighbors out here in Vegas to buy it, but most people let the price drive them away. Too bad for them, excellent beer and tastes even better after a 12 hour shift! cheers!
I can believe that it's taking off, like that, but I don't think it's too hot, down here. Maybe, it will catch fire, though. Thanks for watching, Austin Benjamin. I appreciate it!
This beer is starting to become my standard go to beer. $11.99 for a 24 pk case or $4.59 for a 6 pack of pint cans. You really can't go wrong with this beer. It's only been around my area for a few months, and I hope it sticks. Cheers.
@@caveman2726 Its crazy how much things have gone up in only a handful of years. Its now 6.99 for a 6 pack where im at. Yes inflation is a byproduct of an economy system, but not double digit percentages in 6 years.
I'm enjoying some ice cold Hamm's right now after a hard days work! BTW, guess what showed up at the convenience store today. Schlitz! 6pk 16 oz. cans @ 2.49 per. The summer is shaping up. Cheers!
Ronald Theriot speaking of cheap prices! I too am from Louisiana, I live in Houma and I saw this beer for the first time about a week after you posted this review and I tried it and I was so happy to see it was $4.79 and my local Cannata's supermarket and today June 26, 2017 it was on sale for $1.99 and I was so excited because I never saw beer that cheap haha!
shlitz is nasty asf but holy shit four of them puppies is like woahh hamms is refreshing and has a small kick good taste and cost a dollar over here in los Angeles
Dude, Hamm's was born in East St. Paul. Not Minneapolis. I live here. My understanding of the Hamm's family runs deep. You can still stand on the spot where their mansion burned down a few miles from my house. And, the Hamm's building downtown St. Paul is awesome. I've been in every corner it's amazing.
I started buying Hamms after watching your reviews and remain a big fan. In fact, I made a few of my Friends aware of this brand and now they buy it also. The only issue being it's not available in Canada so I can only grab these when travelling through Michigan.
Terrence LaBroix how much beer can you bring back I'm from Vancouver BC and over here it's only 12 packs or 4 cans I heard over there in the East coast if your crossing from Ontario into Michigan state or New York you can bring back a 24 case pack or 30 pack into Canada
I love that you are not a beer snob-nothing wrong with cheap refreshing well made beers. Think about what you are really paying for (like advertising) from the bud/miller etc guys
I just bought a 6 pack of these up in Fairbury Nebraska and I think it's better than Budweiser. $3.47 a 6 pack, and $13.98 for a 30 pack. Not bad at all. Thank you for the continuous informative liquor reviews.
Always go to your Posts Mr. Ron when I bring home a beer that I want someone else’s Educated opinion on. Thanks for your Beer knowledge. Quite enjoyable! Keep’m coming and stay good!
Love me some Hamm's.....it is the best value for AAL......Hopefully not the next hipster beer, because PBR price went up so much. So close to PBR in the taste but not price, smoother. PBR is a little more sharp in the finish, which I like, but not worth the extra 6 bucks to me.........glad it's available in your region
I'm enjoying it here in southern California and from what i can tell out here is that it WAS a hipster beer BUT very quickly became an everybody kinda beer It's kinda popular over here
Hamm's is a light, refreshing summer drinker. It was at one time the official beer of the Minnesota Twins. I can still hear the ghost of the beer vendors calling out "Hamm's beer here!"
I know this is an older video but it just came up in my feed. We just started getting Hamm’s at my local Walmart and (big shock because I like all the dad beers) I really like it. It’s become my go to cheap beer and at $16 for a 30 pack it’s helped my budget with inflation kicking my butt on everything else.
I really like your reviews man, because you are like me and respect beers, not a beer snob like many people I see underrating our American beer culture.
Just bought a 6 pack of 16oz cans for $3.57. Ingles just stocked it the other day. I've seen it for awhile in 12oz cans at Wal-Mart but its always a huge case of them, so I've never tried it. Looking forward to trying it tonight.
I think Hamm's is excellent and have been choosing it over PBR lately, I'm glad it's made it to the Houston market. I mostly drink the PBR labels, Lone Star, PBR, Schlitz etc but I think it's just because I'm kind of nostalgic. I was talking to a man the other day that was telling me that in the 60's or 70's Pearl would release a Pearl Bock every year around Christmas and that it was delicious. Man I'd like to go back in time and drink a few of those! I sure hope PBR will bring Falstaff back. Great video Ron, I really like American Style Lager reviews.

Hi Jay, Not sure if you still get Hamms' in your area, but if so, you may have noticed, they've redesigned the can with the classic, "Water and tree line " design- It looks great in my opinion!. I was fortunate to find a 30 pack for $13.99 today while in michigan.
They just started selling this in Maryland too, or at least right outside of D.C.! Looks like Miller is pushing it all over the country, which I'm happy about because I love it. One store near me sells it at $3.50 for a 6pk of 16oz, though sadly I am the only person buying it, in fact the people at the drive thru know me as "the white guy who buys Hamms". Glad I dont have to drive to PA to get it anymore, though I still do for Schmidt. (Hamms, Schmidt, Schaefer and Schlitz being my favorites, all rare around here) Anyway, love your beer reviews!!

Those of us who grew up in the 50s 60s think of beers like Hamm's as beer. Still like it. Great bargain, sells well so stays fresh through rotation. Clean taste. No kid-pleasing, face-contorting bitterness. It's my regular now with Grain Belt my secondary beer.

Highly underrated beer glad it is because it keeps the prices low once demand goes up so does the prices enjoyed the review sippin a hamms right now cheers
Remember the commercial as a kid "From the land of the sky blue waters" with the bear running through the woods. I buy Hamms off and on if I"m not getting my PBR. Grew up watching my pops drink this and PBR and automatically went to PBR when I started drinking, first time I ran across Hamms I bought a case.
Well, they never showed those commercials, in Louisiana. I am glad that you pretty much enjoy Hamm's. Thanks for watching, BF 'BoutTime. I appreciate it!
BIG B last summer 2016 on Thursday Aguest 3 2016 I went to the United States Bellingham Washington and at Wal-Mart I saw a 30 pack of Hanms for $15.99 it's a classic American beer it was really big in the mid west in the 1960s it was big also in the 80s I never had it before but it's better than Budweiser Coors light MGD Corona it's too bad I could not take the case back home to Canada
can you do a double down on Ashai Super Dry thanks I know you can get it In Louisiana but it's the Canadian version not the Japanese version that I drink thanks again Jay cheers
My grocery store just got some in so I picked up a six pack and I'm drinking one now. It's pretty good. It's been decades since I last drank one. Non offensive, and I give it B score . Good for a hot summer day or to bring with camping and fishing.
$3.99 for a 6pk of 16oz cans, with fried catfish, you just cant go wrong Jay! This beer I feel holds up just as well against any other American Lager for half the price. I remember this beer being a bit sweeter prior, it seems like it has a sharper taste now, but it has been a while since I had it.
Really a great Beer. As you know Jay, I started drinking Hamm's after watching your past review. Just back from Michigan and I picked up a 30 of Hamm's Special Light for $12 bucks. It's my new favorite Light beer. In fact, it tastes very similar to regular Hamm's
Never had this before and only looked for it after watching your video. Looks as if it just arrived in my area recently. Got the 6 pack of pint cans, however, the 24pk of 12 oz cans was only $11.99. Good beer. As always, thanks for the review.
I have never tried Hamm's but plan to do so when, if they start to sale it where I normally buy my beer at. I always remember the commercials from my childhood and to me the can just looks cool.
Hadn't had one of these in a while but was in an establishment in Virginia Beach (Inland Reef) last weekend that has Hamm's cans available so had a couple. Was reminded it was solid, probably above average AAL. Told myself I need to pick up again at local store sometime sooner than later since had been quite some time. Only retail outlet I know to get Hamm's in these parts is supermarket chain Food Lion who are everywhere around here & usually has in the cooler. Picked up 6 pack tall cans yesterday... pretty good but National Bohemian which I had with it in succession was better.
This beer is such a great value. About $5.00 before tax for 6 pack tall boys here in CT. Which is great for these days. This beer is better than corona, modelo, and others adjunct lagers that are significantly more expensive.
Nice touch with the Vienna’s. I’ve had tons of those. I’m going to give Hamms another go on the next lager stock up. It’s been over 10 years since I’ve had one. Do you know where it’s brewed these days ? Thanks 🙏
I can't explain it, because it was way before my beer-drinking days, which started in February, 1996, Eet Wontflush. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
With the brand changing owners over time, do you think the taste, recipe, or flavor is still the same as when all those classic commercials were coming out? Being a really cheap beer now does it bear any resemblance to what it was in its heyday?
Hamm's beer is a winner by any measure, but it is stunningly affordable for a taste this good. Truly a perfectly round beer, very well balanced. In high inflation era 2023 I can still get a 6 pack of pint cans of Hamm's for $4.99. Laissez les bons temps rouler! ⚜⚜⚜
Hello Ronald, just out of curiosity I'd like your impressions of the flavor of Hamm's direct from the can compared to poured in a glass. To my taste buds, while many beers are improved by drinking from an open-topped glass, the Hamm's recipe seems formulated to work best right from the can.
Hello Ron, I just happened to find hamms at my local grocery store the other day. I was surprised on how very tasty this beer is. Out of all the beers in it`s class (AAL`S) In my humble opinion, Hamms beats them all. Very tasty and oh so smooth :)
I think Hamm's beer is very under rated. This is like the beer that time forgot with such a good taste in my opinion. When I drink it I notice it has a unique flavor that is very pleasant and a bit different than other adjunct lagers. Again in my opinion.
according to a blind taste testing from some Chicago craft brewers (in a Chicago Tribune article) and a different testing from Paste Magazine, this is the best US adjunct lager of them all
I read those articles, but I just don't see it. Hamm's is fine, for sure, but not the best, to me. Thanks for watching, Stefan Anderson. I appreciate it!
I enjoy Hamm’s. Had five pints tonight. Just right. Our local Walmart started carrying it. I like it better than the major adjunct players’ standard offerings.
Great review bruh! Never drank a Hamm's before. I'm willing to bet it's taste is practically identical to that of a Miller High Life or a Narragansett. Is it somewhere in that range?
I call this beer old reliable. Reliably cheap, reliably good. A quality American adjunct lager. I recommend trying it in a mug with a splash of Evan Williams bourbon thrown in. Makes a nice boilermaker.
I get the 6 pack 16oz cans for 3.49 at food lion. Doesn't make much since to pay more for pretty much the same thing. My go to is high life. I don't know that I could tell them apart.
Just finishing one of the last few I have in the fridge while I watch you eat Vienna sauasage. Picked up a 24 pack a little over a week ago at my local grocer for the average price of $12.99. Crazy that more adjunct beer drinkers still turn up their nose at what is really the same beer they pay much more for.

Too bad you could not take it back home to Canada.
can you do a double down on Ashai Super Dry thanks I know you can get it In Louisiana but it's the Canadian version not the Japanese version that I drink thanks again Jay cheers
I like Old Style.
My grocery store just got some in so I picked up a six pack and I'm drinking one now. It's pretty good. It's been decades since I last drank one. Non offensive, and I give it B score . Good for a hot summer day or to bring with camping and fishing.
It's too bad that it flopped in southeastern Louisiana.
Ryan, the problem, here, is that it's going for $4.99 for a six-pack. I do like it, however.
Really a great Beer. As you know Jay, I started drinking Hamm's after watching your past review. Just back from Michigan and I picked up a 30 of Hamm's Special Light for $12 bucks. It's my new favorite Light beer. In fact, it tastes very similar to regular Hamm's
I'd be keen to try that Special Light, Terrence.
One of my favorite cheap beers enjoying a 6 pack of 16oz cans rn and for 4.99 you can’t beat that at least not in Georgia
Sadly, Hamm's bombed in Louisiana.
Never had this before and only looked for it after watching your video. Looks as if it just arrived in my area recently. Got the 6 pack of pint cans, however, the 24pk of 12 oz cans was only $11.99. Good beer. As always, thanks for the review.
I'm glad you got to try the Hamm's, Chris.
We used to get Hamms here in Denver, NC. But it disappeared about a year ago. Don't know why. 6 x 16 oz. cans for about 3.49. Really good value beer!
Hamm's never did catch on, in Louisiana.
@@ronaldtheriot I stand corrected. Found a sixer of 16oz. Stanley, NC Food Lion. Price went up $4.99. But I couldn't believe they had Hamms.
I have never tried Hamm's but plan to do so when, if they start to sale it where I normally buy my beer at. I always remember the commercials from my childhood and to me the can just looks cool.
Hamm's was just never much of a player in Louisiana, and it surely isn't, now. Thanks for watching, Jesse Moody. I appreciate it!
Yesterday 03/24/23 I bought a 12 pack of Hamm’s at a Liquor store in Livermore, Ca for 13.99 I quite liked it
We no longer get it, in Louisiana. Thanks for watching, Pablo Meza. I appreciate it!
My Grandpa use to drink a lot of Hamm's.I always liked Hamm's.
It's always been a rare or unknown item, in Louisiana.
Lots of stores were selling this in Louisiana in c.2017, but it bombed, everywhere, and it's gone, now.
i wish they exported it to England ron!
I wish so, too, floogie. Well, some day, I guess. We only started getting it in Louisiana in 2017.
This beer is such a great value. About $5.00 before tax for 6 pack tall boys here in CT. Which is great for these days.
This beer is better than corona, modelo, and others adjunct lagers that are significantly more expensive.
I wish we'd still get it, in Louisiana, and I miss Hamm's Golden Draft. Thanks for watching, Tim J. I appreciate it!
I like Hoggie's line: "Hamm's is the house next door to PBR." And, I love buyin' Hamm's at $3.99 for six pints in Michigan!
Dang! That's cheap! Thanks for watching, TheOvereasy123. I appreciate it!
I was actually surprised to find this beer in Texas. Because like you said it just never caught on in the south
No, it's was quite the failure, here.
Glad you have it in your area again. Great beer bargain.
I agree, and I never thought it would come to Louisiana.
Great review! Did they bring it back to Louisiana? I've seen it recently here in Baton Rouge at the Circle K near me.
Thanks! Well, it's been in Louisiana, for years, but I don't think it sells too well. I appreciate you watching, DropShotScott!
@@ronaldtheriot you break the record for the fastest reply on UA-cam I've ever seen! Thks Jay! Have a good night/morning!!
@@dropshotscott4762 Same, back to you!
I just picked up a 24 pack suitcase of Hamm's for $14.99 here in Salinas, CA. Cheers, Jay!!
That's a great price! Cheers, back to you, Guy!
Sounds tasty. I'm going to pick some up. Enjoyed the review.
Thanks, and let me know how you like Hamm's, once you try it.
This is a beer I want to try. I have a question thats unrelated to beer. As a southerner, are you a fan of collard greens?
It's a nice beer. Yes. Thanks for watching, Theodore Shoebat. I appreciate it.
Nice touch with the Vienna’s. I’ve had tons of those. I’m going to give Hamms another go on the next lager stock up. It’s been over 10 years since I’ve had one. Do you know where it’s brewed these days ? Thanks 🙏
Thanks, Scott K. I appreciate you watching! These days, Hamm's is brewed by MillerCoors. You're welcome.
Hey Ronald can you please explain the Olympia run of hamms late 70s mid 80s and who was better hamms or Olympia ty in advance
I can't say, because we never got it, before the 1999 Miller buyout. Thanks for watching, TooTall. I appreciate it!
It's too bad that it flopped, in Louisiana.
Hello Ronald, just out of curiosity I'd like your impressions of the flavor of Hamm's direct from the can compared to poured in a glass. To my taste buds, while many beers are improved by drinking from an open-topped glass, the Hamm's recipe seems formulated to work best right from the can.
I can't say, because I've never had it, straight from the can. Thanks for watching, Kevin Jokipii. I appreciate it!
Hello Ron, I just happened to find hamms at my local grocery store the other day. I was surprised on how very tasty this beer is. Out of all the beers in it`s class (AAL`S) In my humble opinion, Hamms beats them all. Very tasty and oh so smooth :)
I do like Hamm's, and I saw it, this week, but the date was bad. Thanks for watching, jamminjoe44. I appreciate it!
I think Hamm's beer is very under rated. This is like the beer that time forgot with such a good taste in my opinion. When I drink it I notice it has a unique flavor that is very pleasant and a bit different than other adjunct lagers. Again in my opinion.
To me, it's not really different, but I do enjoy it.
according to a blind taste testing from some Chicago craft brewers (in a Chicago Tribune article) and a different testing from Paste Magazine, this is the best US adjunct lager of them all
I read those articles, but I just don't see it.
I like Hamm's, too, and I miss the Hamm's Golden Draft. It's too bad, because Hamm's hasn't done well, in Louisiana.
That is a shame...
I'm considering trying this beer because of the price it's only 11.99 for a 24 pack here in Denver!
It's worth checking out. Thanks for watching, Joey Sedberry. I appreciate it!
I need to pick up a Hamm's next time I am on a beer run. Curiosity leaves me no choice! Cheers! 🍺🎩
Excellent, and cheers, back to you!
Great review bruh! Never drank a Hamm's before. I'm willing to bet it's taste is practically identical to that of a Miller High Life or a Narragansett. Is it somewhere in that range?
Thanks! Yes, it's quite similar to those two.
out here in northern california just got a 24 pack of hamms for 13.99. keep up the videos!
Pretty nice price, Chill Dude. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
I call this beer old reliable. Reliably cheap, reliably good. A quality American adjunct lager. I recommend trying it in a mug with a splash of Evan Williams bourbon thrown in. Makes a nice boilermaker.
Sadly, it failed, in Louisiana and is mostly unavailable, now. Thanks for watching, Klokateer86. I appreciate it!
Very good review. I like this one.
Thanks, and I do, too.
Hamms update: I now find it at only one store in the area for $4.99 6 pk pints(VA Beach). I must say, I really like this beer.
That's not a good sign, for its distribution, I am afraid. And, I want to express my condolences, on the Va. Beach tragedy.
As a younger doe I once slammed a good many Hamm's and then got up the next morning at 6 for a shift at a job and never went back. :)
Ha-ha. Thanks for watching, Guilmon470. I appreciate it!
I get the 6 pack 16oz cans for 3.49 at food lion. Doesn't make much since to pay more for pretty much the same thing. My go to is high life. I don't know that I could tell them apart.
They are pretty similar. Thanks for watching, Chris Wilson. I appreciate it!
6:40 Just realized the sausages and the Hamm's have the same color scheme. 30 pack is $13.99 in Pennsylvania in 2020.
That's a fantastic price! Thanks for watching, adamgh0. I appreciate it!
Having this right now. 6 pack of pints for $4.50. Very good beer, goes well with pizza.
I like it, but it just flopped in Louisiana.
That's a fine price, for a 24-pack, tsm. You're right about that attitude.
Just saw it in the store for 11.99 but payed up two more dollars (13.99) for a 24 of PBR. Both great beers! Cheers!
Hamms has been my go to for years...you’re right! I’m drinkin it not thinkin it!
I'm glad that you like it. Thanks for watching, Brad Ames. I appreciate it!
So I finally tasted Hamm's. Excellent beer. Reminds me of Texas Lone Star, but better
I'm glad you like it, and I miss Hamm's Golden Draft.
At the trexmart gas station here in missouri, the 16oz hamms 6pk is 5$ 45 cents. When I cant get pbr I drink hamms
That's a pretty good price. Some locations, here, has that for $4.99, but Hamm's is not really popular, in Louisiana.
I wish hamms was available in bottles
Yes, me too. Thanks for watching, duane Whitham. I appreciate it!
Hamm's taste like the nectar of the gods after a hard day of work
Ha-ha. I agree with that, sofacus! Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
