***for people who don't know the history, Taiwan wants to be it's own country, China refuses to recognize it as such and believes China is 1 China, I think basically everyone except China has accepted Taiwan as it's own country, but China goes for the KILL on anyone who so much as ACKNOWLEDGES Taiwan as a country. There's a Kpop girl group called Twice, at one point all the girls were holding up flags from where they're from, 5 had South Korea, 3 had Japan, and one girl, Tzuyu (also the youngest, at age 16 btw) had Taiwan. China IMMEDIATELY latched onto this idea she was a pro Taiwan supporter and against "One China" and basically labeled her a terrorist. She had to do an apology video and if you watch it she's so scared and acting as if she is held at gun point if she doesn't say the right thing. China's government is brutal and barbaric IMO if they think subjecting a 16 year old singer to their political agenda is ok. Also, Twice was originally going to have activities in all the countries the girls are from and songs in all 3 languages, because of that incident they only alternate between Korean and Japanese songs. I feel really bad for Tzuyu. But I'm glad she had the other girls and the support of the rest of the world.

Agreed tbh I come from my dads side of the family being very conservative and religious but then my Tia on that side of the family is lesbian so I grew up with that and never thought it was wrong and my moms side of the family are more left leaning no super left so I’m like on a scale from 1-10 1 being super left and 10 being super right I’m like a 4.5 I would say. I do sometime lean to 5.5 just because I’m traditional left leaning but I do have some conservative views so it’s nice to know that some ppl can have conversations with each other still and have different perspectives and opinions but still get along

I think Brian understands that Noglas viewpoint comes from the fact that he thinks guns in general may be a bit excessive (especially not living in a country like the USA where they're common place) and Nogla understands that the guy who shot was probably terrified and thought he might die in that moment. They're both able to articulate their points and see each other's view points and understand why each other thinks the way they do and come to an understanding of both sides.
Brian perfectly understands nogla is lost in the sauce.
I agree with your centrist take, I hate that whole argument with being a "fence sitter" just because I decide that there are problems with both sides. There is nothing wrong with staying in the middle and hearing both right and left ideas, and then choosing which to believe in based on your own morality. In fact, I think it is the ideal way to live rather than dogpiling on one side and never wanting to discuss anything with anyone of opposite opinions or come to a compromise. Living in an echo chamber like that, surrounded by only people who think and like the same as you makes your brain have tunnel vision.

Glad to see I'm not alone. I'm fed up of the tribalistic "You're either with us or you're against us" way of thinking. People aren't a conglomerate hivemind; there's plenty of overlap and a wide spectrum of beliefs.
See, that's where you're immediately running into a problem. Making the assumption of there are some problems with both sides. When that is an untrue statement, there are some problems with one side and the complete utter collapse of another side happening as we speak like it's not the same at all. Man I agree with Daithi and Brian so much, society doesn’t even try and find compromise any more, people are unwilling to communicate, it’s very “if you don’t believe the same ideology as me you’re evil” and it’s genuinely exhausting. The pandemic deffo brought this out of people more and is the reason why I stopped using social media, folk were incredibly toxic over the dumbest of things, destroying friendships over minor disagreements, folk unwilling to listen to someone else’s opinion whether they agree with it or not. That’s why I love seeing you two talk about this, your personal views may not match 100% but you respect each other’s opinion and try to understand each other’s pov, you’re respectful, you’re actually listening and not screeching, and we genuinely need more of this in society.
I’m also centrist leaning (from Scotland) and fully agree with needing to have some who are in the middle, who try to understand both sides and where they’re coming from, who can combat extremist views and try and calm others down, asking folk on both political spectrums to sit and talk like adults really shouldn’t be as hard as it is, but that’s where we are in the world these days.

So uh, hey American here. I'll put my two cents about my politic stance.
1. I think my government is primarily run by corporations and they are keeping 'We' the people of freedom under a constant powder keg for ideals at each others throats.
2. Corporate policies weirdly seem to be pushing the constitutional rights with each year.
3. There's some really good skills to learn to be as petty as possible to certain establishment's and I'd recommend a certain lawyer UA-camr just for some of them.

About point number 2. What do you mean exactly when you say this? An example would be helpful
@@paulallen2680 so a more notable one applied would be how they treat the second amendment, a great majority if not the entirety of places outright ban the carrying of firearms (if you have either a concealed carry or open carry license) often telling employees to leave them out in vehicles or entirety away from site locations (which can be understood with the number of mass shootings and with how open carry can look imposing to customers). But a bigger concern is how they do not try to enforce it more towards customers.
A second example would be how they asentually are fading out on site locations for more third party out of state or country HR. Which is more so relative to the first and fourth amendments, being that they are making it harder for consequences if not any resolution to occur on site for broken infractions. Like say my religion requires me to be off Sundays, pass information about a school bake sale/girl scout, speaking about current news (majority over ruling or political), or just unfairly being searched without first a warrant or warning.

I like Brian and Nogla's talk about how we all need to communicate with each other and find a middle ground or at the very least see where we are all coming from.
Me and my discord friends would have these talks as well whenever I bring up stuff about how horrible movies are, or how people complain about everything and everyone just dog piles on one person for their wrong opinion, etc. We always just usually say how we just need things to be back to normal where we all don't kill each other and have things just be good. No need to fill a quota, no need to get some political messaging out there, just good old fashion vibe with each other.
