Why is Mathew 24 the Olivet Discourse of choice for end times preachers? Are there not three (Mathew, Mark and Luke)? My guess is because the three discourses are Jesus's answer to some questions asked by the disciples and in Mark 13 and Luke 21 there is NO doubt that the questions recorded are ONLY about the destruction of the temple (70AD). Plus, in Luke 21 Jesus says "notice the fig tree AND all the trees" rendering the fig tree = Israel useless.
I still have trouble separating the verses where one is the rapture and one is the second coming in chapter 24. I understand it perfectly I just can’t explain it to someone else by reading Matthew 24.
