- Even though it’s April fools at least this isn’t a joke! Here’s the roundhouse crew on Marsh pulling Holiday 2 for two laps around the park showing off Marsh’s new whistle. Thanks for watching!
Trains in operation:
Ward Kimball-Holiday 5 Blue with Lilly Belle
Fred Gurley-Excursion 3
Ernest S. Marsh-Holiday 2 Red (caboose was closed at around 1 pm due to the extreme heat)
The roundhouse crew sure know how to put on a show!
They sure do! They’re the folks that make the DRR an exciting ride and not just a plain transportation around the park
Now that's what I'm talking about!
Those sparks in the Splash Mountain tunnel were pretty crazy. Never seen that before!
Never seen sparks out of a locomotive stack at all on the DRR, must be cause of the roundhouse crew! NOS to ToonTown with Jeff at the throttle’s got to be the fastest I’ve seen the DRR go
@Brian Wu You've got to have talent to get an engine up to track speed in such a short span of time and track without severe slipping.
There was some slipping the first time around after the stop near Big Thunder Trail. Yet that was nothing compared to a later stop in the same area with a different engineer, I still wish I had recorded that
To anyone who is wondering the roundhouse crew is driving to give the engineers a brake. Also all roundhouse personal are former drivers/firemen.
Thanks for the info! I know Jeff and Mike of the roundhouse crew came from the Colorado Railroad Museum but I hadn’t known why they take over for regular cast members
So you did ride with them and it looks like you had fun as always
The first departure out of NOS was awesome, lots of stack talk and even sparks came out of the stack
I wonder who was the guy on the tender seat, I am pretty sure he is a CM not in uniform cause he stayed on at both Main Street stops and even when they took water
That guy in the tender seat was a cast member from backstage, as what an engineer told me. Riding behind Marsh for 4-6 laps (I honestly forgot) with poor whistling was definitely worth it to get roundhouse crew in the cab
Brian Wu I agree with you, reminds me of me in the sim opening the Ripley all the way and having too much fun
RichardsTrainsAndMore it’s more than rewarding, and I see that it is a CM
Brian Wu true, always open slowly and see what happens, eventually you'll get to max. i never open straight to full
Tell that to the roundhouse crew. On a few occasions Jeff opened the throttle quickly and Marsh’s drivers spun in place. Quite authentic! But hard on the drivers
Wow, new drivers? I heard no flat spot at all!
It’s a huge improvement Marsh is almost silent now! Well almost, but it got rid of a lot of shaking and jostling
@@richardstrainsandmore This is the best video of the Ernest S. Marsh ever. I have to be honest!
Why thanks Alex! That’s a means a lot to hear a great compliment!
Where’s the E. P. Ripley in the video
I never stated #2 was in this video, this was almost 4 years ago
@@richardstrainsandmore I like #2 better
The drr needs a new voice over
Turn up your atomizer. Too much smoke!
