Technically if you really want chronological order you’ll play until the end of metropolis in halo 2, then go play halo 3 odst then go back and finish the rest of halo 2
Exactly what I do
Damn that's commitment
I should make that my playlist on mcc now
Yup. One of my friends wanted to play co-op in order so as soon as the In Amber Cloud left New Mumbasa, we switched to ODST.
exactly what im doing in the mcc!
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYIN!!
When you realise the first 5 games were all set over a few months
Time Flies by
If you include fire team raven the arcade game it’s 6
I just realized that.
@@sootythunder3111
I loved that game! I need to take another trip back to Dave and Buster's 😂
ODST is technically taking place during Halo 2's glassing of new Mombassa
You Are Correct But This Is Games in Order not Missions
You're correct but that's just the start of it, by the end Truth is already on earth uncovering the forerunner dreadnaught so it goes from halo 2-3
I thought the glassing was to kill the flood right? But that’s floodgate mission 5 in halo 3
@@Csalahydn no the glassing of new Mombassa was the covenant invasion of earth to uncover the forerunner structure under the city.
@@Csalahydn halo 3 floodgate over half the continent was glassed to contain the flood but that’s a week or 2 after the halo 2 timeline . Tartarus was killed November 3rd, Johnson’s scene in odst was November 15th, and we assume chief and truth made it back to earth on the 17th
Damn 2552 was on snth
Most of the games in that time period were in a span of just the last half of that year too.
Me and my older brother forced our younger brother to play them in this order a while ago, he has yet to finish infinite but thanks for reminding me of the joy I saw in his eyes when he beat the prophet of regret to death in his stupid Frieza chair
Glad to help with some good memories
Pfffft Frieza Chair
@@MADMEKWURRWAZZA I Know that Was Brilliant
LOL his Frieza chair, that's so accurate
2589 is when the ending cut scene to lone wolf happens
343 would have made a killing if they made a game where you play as different characters throughout the halo timeline. Just imagine playing as:
•A pelican pilot during the New Mombasa fighting
•Sadie from the ODST audio logs
•Johnson during contact harvest
•A group of marines fighting in insurrectionist conflicts
•An elite with a squad of A.I grunts/jackals
•A Shipmaster commanding a fleet
I Feel like a Cool thing that could be added into Halo Infinite would be Playable Covenant. Like Armor Cores but covenant where you can be Elites or jackals or Brutes or Grunts Etc
I knew a lot of people who preferred the elites
@@Void_Wars to multiplayer not at all they just add a bit of customization
@Duke and die in the end that would have been a good twist
No. 343 destroys everything it touches and they hate real Halo fans. 343 can go bankrupt for all I care.
“Infinite fun with infinite” god if only
If you believe You can Achieve.
@@SpartanxNation Tell that to 343
@@talonkosmoski534 stop playing then, fans like you are why the franchise is struggling
@@jordansmith8078 no 343 is why the franchise is struggling actually. Stop coping
@@jordansmith8078 fans like me? Like the ones who have played since day 1 of the first game? Who have dedicated over 2 decades of my life to the fanchise? Who personally bought multiple copies of the games so me and my friends could play, or when we had good ol fashion lan parties, yes. Im the problem. Im the one who took a miraculous franchise and fan base, and pandered to a different one doing everything they can but make a good halo game. I still remember waiting for the midnight release of halo 4, i had a wake up john t shirt on and was hyped in line with everyone else outside of gamestop. I just wish that things had been different. With halo, and with a lot of things. So what the did i do? Hope it would be better? Hope it would be what the promised? Hope it would be a decent game but get let down again? Cause thats all i did you arrogant prick.
Fiction normally: It's just fiction
Fiction with year in the future: This will happen
I wish I had that kind of free time.
To play the games in chronological order would be amazing but from what ive learned in these comments is to stop halfway through Halo 2 then play Halo 3 ODST then back to halo 2 so thats even more time
@SpartanxNation yessir.
Chief’s adventures span only *7 YEARS?!?!*
The adventures in the games yes. But the books the books are so much more and are absolutely FANTASTIC
@@SpartanxNation even so, the games alone really feel like 50 years or something
@@oivatank it does feel like that. Just goes to show how impactful the story of Halo is.
343 really did missed up halo timeline when halo 5 and halo 6 was made🤦🏾♂️
Halo 5 was very confusing but i still think gameplay wise wasn’t terrible i want everyone to experience these games on their own and without bias. And i want them to be accepted even if Halo 5 was their favorite
Thats wild some of those vital moments of halo canon happened in like year😂
Something's missing halo fireteam raven
Not alot of people have easy access to arcade games
Humanity been fighting aliens for almost 30 years
I’m having a very hard time wrapping my head around just how much time we spend in 2552. The events of Halo 2-3 have always felt like some time after the events of Reach. Fascinating
I always thought that as well. But no so little time passes.
@@SpartanxNation Guess I didn’t pay enough attention to the dates it prompts us with 😅 Thank you for the info!
@@goldenplayboy6931 neither did I the armors and scenes were too cool for me to read.
Kinda funny how Johnson , Cortana and the Chief didn't even had a time to catch a breath, after they dealt with covenants ship crew members and a parasite outbreak , they must deal with another covie invasion on earth
You know if we get suits by then in real life you know I am freezing myself
"Infinite amount of fun in halo infinite" *ages like milk*
Infinite if you believe.... And by believe I mean Pretend you are playing infinite but instead its MCC or Halo 3 or Reach
@@SpartanxNation *ages like wine* "redemption arc started, all is forgiven"
Halo 3 Obst and halo 3 play at the same time because if u watch closely when the covenent ships jump u See a little unsc ship which jumps with the covenent ship which at the same moment the chief is on while you as a Odst are dropping thtats why mickes says before the drop "what the hell im supposed to Do with a sniper in a covenent ship"
ODST technically happens between 2 and 3.
The UNSC In Amber Clad is the one seen going with the Covenant Carrier. This happens in Halo 2. Then we get the events of ODST which run in parallel to the events involving the Chief and them. Then we get 3, with Chiefs return to Earth and the following assault on the Ark.
Crazy that halo reach - 3 all happened in the same year
When I did a chronological playthrough, I played halo 2 until I got to the arbiter missions, then played through ODST, then switched back to halo 2.
That Works better And for the more experienced gamer
Crazy this was a dream of mine to play with my childhood friend. We always played halo games but never in order but unfortunately he passed in 2022 but as they say Spartans never die.
Spartans Never Die. Sorry for your loss my friend.
Infinite warfare unofficial prequel
huh
@@daegnaxqelil2733 check out the campaign it ain’t so bad. It’s also the closest thing I think we’ll get to a halo prequel
I remember playing halo ce for the first time when i was 5-6 shitting my pants it was a scary game back then but i loved it. I couldn’t imagine that it would be this big and this great after all these years. Last halo i played was reach i just love the cinematics of the games these days
i have all the halo games, i might try this
Go For It. Its Great.
In halo reach I would be 541 years old
2552 to 2553 were the best years ever 😂
That's 4 Games
I would’ve started with reach honestly for the story
Well this is chronologically in the correct order year wise so halo wars is before reach.
Halo Wars is part of the story and comes far before any of the others, so that's why it's first. It's just not the first part of Chief's story (which technically begins at the end of Reach).
@@agentmaryland1239 this is very true
@@agentmaryland1239 reach came before any of the others. Halo wars has the same Spartans as the spartan chief is. Jerome is a spartan 2. Same thing with the other 2 in his crew.
@@X_xWolfx_Xwouldn't be very chronological
Try this....
When playing Halo 4, just before putting your hands on the buttons that awake the Didact, pause the game to watch the Halo 4 terminals, and then resume the game to wake uo the Didact.
It's very satisfying.
Oooo thats actually seems like a fun idea
That's a damn good lineup
Damn Straight
Thanks man I didn't know what to start with only games I knew which time was started in is halo 3 odst and halo 3
No worries Have Fun and Enjoy the games.

This makes me appreciate halo wars so much more. Just look at the visual difference between it and just about everything after 3. Even tho it didn’t start halo it’s definitely an amazing beginning
It Is In My TOP 5 Halo Games
Halo arcade game has left the chat
Yes yes it has because its not easily accessible for everyone
I'd like to see this guys theory as to what exactly happened to Utah and Alaska on the day they died. Alaska died to falling into electrical barbed wire, Utah trying to save her, but slips on the ice falls breaking the ice, then getting impaled by an icicle.
Accidents happen… … …
@@SpartanxNation I just want to hear that being said in a video, any video about what happened to the missing agents skip over these two because the story is known, just not brought up in RvB. Much like what happened to the Triplets, shit even Georgia isn't "Dead". Any Agent that is classified as "MIA" is still alive, since the list didn't change after Temple's incident, the agents in Temples room starting from Wash and Carolina are
Hawaii
Massachusetts
Tennessee
Oregon
Louisiana
Nevada
Illinois
I think I'm missing one, but it'd be Montana if I am.
Now, throw in the agents that were also KIA, there should still be 5-10 Agents that are not in Temples room, nor recovered by the Recovery Agents. The Triplets are some of them. Meaning that Colorado, Georgia- they all probably have a family in the background, yes Georgia was a douche to the Triplets, but- I like to think he was hard on them to make them hard, you can't be weak in Project Freelancer, I think Georgia was their mentor in the background. Which is why no one told the Triplets that Georgia went missing, Utah and Alaska died, C.T was killed. Yes, there would've been no way for anyone to tell them anything, since they were known as some of the first agents, and the first agents to technically successfully leave without Recovery Units chasing them. They're alive, same with the MIA agents. I firmly believe that, since Red vs Blue is ending, they have enough characters for a new story, including Shatter Squad, and the Army of Chorus. Which is why I'm writing Red vs Blue: Collision Course, it'll give the Reds and Blues a proper send off, and introduces one of Wash's new ideas, Project Scarlet. (Freelancer reboot). It'll focus more about keeping tech out of the wrong hands, without being the bad guys. P.S. Doughnut killed Doc to keep O'malley from killing everyone else, since Doughnut killed his best friend, he became his own Villain, and will be the main bad guy in this upcoming thing I'm writing.
I don't care if Rooster Teeth kills the Reds and Blues in this upcoming season, I will have the true ending for them no matter what. 🫡😉
An infinite amount of fun like being one shotted out of a banshee by a sniper
First of all great shot secondly that is fun…
Fire team raven takes place during CE
They basically have a 21 year span of time that they could make tons of first person single player epic spartan games and they just didn’t do that for some reason🤣
You actually need to pause halo 3 and beat halo 3 odst then continue halo 3.
*halo 2
I don’t understand how they made master chief a geriatric in halo 5 but it only took place 5 years after ce
You forgot fireteam raven, which took place in 2552 during the events of CE
"Then you stop after Halo 3 because it goes downhill from there."
This is a good point… but… What about the Infinite amount of fun in Halo Infinite?
My wallet begged to differ with the microtransations lol. @@SpartanxNation
Who would’ve thought an entire timeline would go under the span of 10 years, and in that timespan, master chief still couldn’t stick with 1 suit of armour for no more then a year 💀
As the Robot From Robots the kids Animated Film Says "Upgrades people Upgrades"
Sounds just about right
Well Good
All the halo games are epically awesome! Will and always play them all over and over
Playing them in release order is better imo, it shows how they evolved (and devolved)
How did the designs change so mucu in one chronological year
Halo fire team raven (the arcade machine) takes place at the exact same time as halo combat evolved.
Interesting
Time to go to my local arcade
Finally some one with a correct order
I am missing fireteam raven so i need to do an updated version
Throw in the arcade tan re in there somewhere lol
It’s absolutely wild how literally the entire main series of games took place within 2 years of the end of the war, and somehow 343 still ran out of content and made up some of the worst continuation plot lines possible.
They had literally 30 years of the Human Covenant War, they could’ve made a decades worth of games off the Battle of Harvest alone.
you must play 2 and odst almost simultaneously for a lore accurate game
bro forgot fireteam raven
So technically you would
Play the first level of strike after metropolis because it takes place at the same time, then go to ODST then finish 2, then play as normal
Until strike then play the rest of strike
"An infinite amount of fun" my ass
Bro ain’t nobody playin spartan assault lol
halo reach
Halo Reach was one Of the BEST Halos. It was the First Halo I got to Play with friends.
@@SpartanxNation It’s one of the best games
@@turtle_5004 Yes yes it Is
Infinite amount of fun? As Sgt Stacker once said...
"MY ASS!!!!"
But its infinite
The game is fun. It might be lacking in biomes but the main gameplay is still the classic Halo sandbox style. Saying it's bad is like saying the gameplay of CE-3 is bad.
@@thefreeden It is fun, just VERY Disappointing that they never added jack to Halo Infinite, the older games have more variety than Infinite.
@@115spt2 yeah but it's also the Halo game that just lets you mess around with the sandbox. I've always wanted a farcry-ified Halo mission set. It's why Crows Nest and Installation 00 were my favorite missions in 3. It's also why CE is still my favorite.
@@thefreeden Ce is my Fav too, I understand what You mean, Infinite has a nice open world and its empty for the most part, but replaying missions (Especially in COOP) can be very fun, send me You MC user and I'll game with You :)
Its just story wise Halo 1 - 3 is wAY BEETTER.
Halo 2 until the covenant ship slipspace jumps to delta halo. There you pause halo 2 and start ODST. Once ODST is finished you go back and finish the rest of halo 2, then go to halo 3
You forgot fireteam raven arcade which takes place during halo ce
Damn how old is master chief, good grief.
He Do be Pretty Old
You forgot fire team raven during ce
Man we're so close
Almost to 2569
Technically if you want to include EVERY halo game fire team raven takes place at the same time as halo CE but it starts after chief wakes up so I guess play it after
And one else pissed they just skipped over the years of Cortana’s war?
A-lot of people Disliked that whole era
Huh, there was a weird gap where my memory skips 2553 straight to 2559
Weird happens to all of us sometimes
RIP to the greatest video game franchise of all time!
Nice job putting them all in order...
Thank you. Have you played them all and which was your favorite if you did and why was it bungie Halo?
@@SpartanxNation sadly I'd have to say no I have not played them all.. I have played 1&2 an Halo Wars. Like to play Reach. It's a work-in-progress..
thats 29 years in combat for the chief. with exception to his four year dormancy on the damaged fwd unto dawn
will he ever get a flat and retire?
Imagine playing halo in the year 2500
Id argue you play halo 3 before ODST so you know why the flood are on earth for a bit
"and have an infinite amount of fun in halo infinite"
Anything can be an infinite amount of fun if you just believe
Technically you stop 3 missions into halo 2 to go to odst then go back to halo 2. That's how did my Canon runs
This is true
I always struggled with 2,ODST and 3, i even played 2 games parallel once
I have been told multiple times to stop halfway through 2 then play Odst then finish 2 then do halo 3

I started playing Halo from halo combat evolved and since then I been waiting for the entire franchise to drop for pc like each and every part ..I used to think that Halo CE was the first game of halo
Halo Ce was the first released
Only legends remember Halo Spartan Strike mobile.
Damn they cant get a rest

Halo Wars 3 is coming soon
No it's not. Not till like 2025
i start odst in the middle of halo 2.

@@SpartanxNation Ur right
I have discovered the Halo series recently (ex ps player). I have to say, Bungie Halos are just something else. I couldn’t bring myself to finish H4 and Infinite campaign was just meh for me, but I am at the third playthough H1-2-3-Odst-Reach in a single year. Got a friend that used to play H1 and H2 on the Og xbox as a kid to try the saga again and he had the same experience. The covenant are just cooler enemy than either Prometheans or Banished, the music and dialogues and charachters and overall stakes and epicness levels in the Bungie games are on another level entirely. It feels like 343 don’t want to make a Military sci fi setting and emphasize too much the fantasy-sci fi elements + they are way too much obsessed with Spartans just like GW is with space marines. Odst and regular marines + Navy are just as cool and deserve a place in Halo’s stories!
Halo 3 odst is something i want more of the mechanics and gameplay was phenomenal i also would like to see other playability on some more covenant and it can all be achieve but we will see what the future holds
