Oh, it is so nice to see your “new to you Purchases” from the thrift store! I love the red stove. You have set up your new home so nicely!! Knitting should be about pleasure, not a race to completion and competition. Good for you for recognizing this it is wonderful to have the completed projects but no race…. I think I am going to start my summer knits now in the cool season so I have them for the warm season instead of racing to get them done in 4 weeks or less…. Martina cara, what a lovely, calming moment together, it’s like hanging out to knit, talk, be together. I resonate so much with this calm, slow, mindful energy, a space in which something in me can finally settle, exhale, allow my being to unfold…yet it is still so hard for me to actually let myself be…sometimes it is pressure from the world as there is no “pause” button…many times it is an inward pressure, which is just another internalized push…and still other times, I almost feel an explosion of all the life wanting to be lived..for knitting it could be all the patterns and colors and yarns, reading all the books and in general creative explorations, and many other things…but actually slowing down, and being fully present into one chosen intentional resting place is so wholesome, and healing. I am a very slow knitter, and have realized that I really need to think things through because there is only so much I will be able to knit… much love towards your year if green 💚💚💚💚

Dear Martina, Happy New Year! I’m glad to see you are feeling better! I enjoyed this chat with you so much ❤. I can really relate to your plans for the new year. It’s a good time to reflect on how we’ve been doing and what we need and want to change. Knitting has been a huge source of comfort for me in the past years, it was a safe place I could go to when so many other big things were out of my control. Having to wait on institutions for answers and actions which determine the direction my life will go has been so frustrating and scary. Knitting allowed me to pass the time in a way that felt meaningful and calming to me. But now, looking ahead, it seems 2024 will finally be a year in which I can actually implement steps in other areas of my life which are important to me, plans and dreams can take shape. For this, I will need time and energy not knitting… gardening, making a small home and spending more time with family will be at the forefront instead, I hope! happy new year dear ✨ those were some very wise words on everybody being different in their crafting and also maybe at different stages of the process 🤔 even though i'm not triggered i do feel a bit called out 😅 seeing as i am totally avoiding any complicated techniques right now (i call it my "garter stitch phase" 😅) for the exact reason of being able to just use knitting to calm my nerves and still be able to multitask and spend mental energy on watching videos while i knit (i do many breaks but every now and then i will go past the pain point, like you describe it). i very much take your words as a kind reminder to look ahead and forward to getting to that level of mindfulness you have achieved ❤

I will follow home progress, everything:) I just love vibe, personalities, nature, two white babies:) I want to tell from my side: knitting for me is a therapy, when my kids therapist offered me to visit her too, I think a moment and said:” you know I better will knit at home “ it gives me calm, peaceful feeling, I am quite calm and slow original, but this craft give me inner peace! Even now when I have struggles “ going to employment ir not” becomes I feel it’s a trap….something wrong happening. And I am so positive that I will fine right way, because I have this mainful process, knitting. I will get to the right point with it:)

My goal is to knit more this year (compared to my last year). Last year, I knit one sweater and one accessory 😅😊. I was really happy with my sweater and I came ro terms that I'm a slow knitter and other stuff regarding knitting and focusing on myself instead of how much others do. I do love seeing what others knit but I feel much more content now. I realized that 😂I like to knit sweaters in spring/summer, so I had an idea, that (because I do want to knit a summer shirt or spring things) to knit for summer in mind during autumn and winter and to knit for fall/winter in mind during spring/summer. Haha I think it's perfect for me. Last month I started knitting my first "shirt" for summer. I'm still working on it and that's fine. I think my goal will be one more piece to wear in warm weather, and at least 1 winter sweater for the year. We'll see.
