..."buy nice or buy twice"... I like that. So true quite often. Zenbivy looks great but this is definitely an example of buying nice.
Honesty Thanks Tim, I have used my mummy bag as a quilt for years with great success.
Just like for motorcycles, I would say you have to get something you can deal with the cons. I went for maximum comfort with a big thermarest sleeping pad and an amazing Big Agnes diamond park bag. It takes space but man do I have great nights ! :)
I agree that you should definitely spend a little more in this area. It is not fun being up at night shivering. Also remember altitude where you’re camping, because it’s often colder the higher you are above sea level.
Do you ever sleep in a tent, or just on a concrete picnic table? Just kidding. I tried to sleep in a tent once, the coyotes kept me awake. I was too close to the Mexico border. Still kidding, at least about the border bit. Excellent video, thanks for sharing.

I'm still in a $10 used rectangular Coleman from Goodwill. No idea what it's rated for. I did add a Sea To Summit Extreme liner so I now have a sleep system 😁 I'm a wimp if it's forecast for 40 or below I hit a motel. Think next winter I'll get a real sleeping bag. Thanks for the tips. Useful as always.
same here. Now I use a cheap Walmart bag. During the summer I don't even take a tent. Just my ultralight cot. Which I highly recommend. Weighs 5 lbs.

I love mine, highly recommend.
You need to cover pads as well as no one really does in the moto world . It does not matter what sleeping bag you have if the R value for the pad is insufficient or its an uninsulated pad. Don’t ask me how I know this 🙄. Its merely a suggestion my apologies for the directness of my response as your film was excellent
An overall "what to look for" video is a good idea. Tim has reviewed a couple of different pads in the past years also.
@@Jon_Bass4001 in MHO the new subjects need to be discussed at the same time as its a necessity ie the sleep system

Thanks! I use silk and think it performs really well. Warm when it's cold and breathable when it's hot.
