Would love for the video with recommendations for other camaras as well!! I have a fujifilm and the biggest challenge for me as a beginner is figuring out what lenses would be most appropriate
Good video for guidance. Nicely presented. For Micro 4/3rds cameras though, you would have to use ''Virtual'' focal lens length. So, if you have a 45mm F1.8 45mm lens, this is really a 90mm F3.6 in the Full Frame world. Micro 4/3rds double the focal length, which can be good for some things. Nikon cropped sensors you need to x by 1.5 and Canon cropped sensors x by 1.6
Hi lovely, i am considering buying sony zve10 as my first camera, and since i want to do makeup photography, can you help me with choosing a lens, i am considering sony 90mm macro and sony 50 mm macro, and the sony 50mm f 1.8 I know a macro lens would more suit my need, but since my camera is crop, do you think it wouldn’t be a problem?
Hi Kayleigh, I just did a test shoot. I only do about one test shoot a year. I made an exception for a very beautiful model that I knew would make my beauty portfolio look great. I also shot 2 fashion looks on her. I've been trying to figure out how many images I should give her from the test. I don't want to retouch more than 2 closeups and or more than 6 of the fashion images. I don't even think I told her or her Mom how many images I would be giving her and you know how people are, they probably think they should receive all the images. I really wish I would have communicated how many images they would receive.
Hi Kayleigh! Any thoughts on the Canon EOS R camera? As someone working in the social media/beauty field mostly doing self shots & macro makeup I'm looking to upgrade to this camera and use the EF lens adapter to use the 100mm macro with it. Currently using a lower entry level mirrorless. Would love your input!
I love my 100mm L macro, i shoot with a 5D Mark IV and i was thinking about taking a 24-70 but now that everything is going to a mirrorless way i don't know if keep my money and wait.. 'cause anyway it's still a bit expensive.
Cheers for the insights, getting more involved with beauty/fashion/model photography and videography. Will definitely be looking into a macro lens. I'm currently shooting on the Lumix Gh5, do you have any recommendations?

@@fusion-music yes that's right. I mainly use the sigma 16mm f1.4 (32 f2.8) sigma 30mm f1.4 (60 f2.8) and the sigma 56mm f1.4 (112 f2.8). Found these to be beyond great so far. What I do wish though was that I had a full frame for the uses of going wider with shots. Like having a 25mm or 16mm that is actually those true sizes. Anything under a 16mm for a mft is either super expensive and or doesn't have autofocus/manual focus metering. What are you shooting with?
@@hillsmediahouse Hi - I did think you would be aware of the differences with focal length. To be honest, I've been with Nikon since 1974 (just after Noah stepped out of the ark) and for a few years I also used Canon. Currently I shoot with Nikon D500 which works like a full frame, but is a crop sensor. I do shoot astro-photography on a modified Canon, but anything else is shoot on a Nikon body. I have friends who have full frame cameras and won't come out with me to do nature photography, because their lens won't reach & because they would have to crop their photos. But all nature photographers have to crop most of the time. But their next problem is pixels. The D500 has enough pixels and is basically magnifying the image 1.5 times the focal length. So, I have a Tokina 11 - 22mm f2.8 & a macro Tokina 100mm f2.8 Nikon 50mm f1.4 manual. I like this because I can use it manually in video. I also have a Nikon 200 - 500mm which is effectively a 750mm. Are you jealous? Hope not. I was on a shoot the other day and the camera stopped working. It won't even power up. So, your camera gear is a million times better than my dead camera. I like Sigma lenses and I do have other lenses, but they are more basic Nikon lenses. Oh - something else I look for is whether the lens is designed for full frame or cropped frame. You wonder what the difference is - but there is a difference. I would recommend, when ever you can to get full frame lenses. Then, if you upgrade camera, you can still use your lenses. I think your Sigma 56mm f1.4 would be the ideal lens for portrait/wedding/beauty. Perfect for the job.
The 70-200mm f2.8L II can actually be a wonderful lens for beauty! It's actually great if you're using a larger studio because you'll be able to steer clear of any lighting due to the minimum focus distance and zoom functionality. It likely won't be as ideal as having an actual macro lens though as it won't capture those super close shots. I believe you can get extension tubes to create a macro effect. However in doing this, the issue with using a 70-200mm for macro shots could also be the weight of it, I've personally used it before and even with image stabilisation, it can be very heavy to use freehand and it's especially tricky when it's at maximum zoom. You could use a tripod to counteract the weight, however you'll be more limited with your shots. It's a fantastic portrait lens though, and I'd definitely recommend using it as your go-to zoom.
I don't have any videos about specific strobes, but I have a few videos that may be helpful here about studio lighting! :) ua-cam.com/video/eRuM_QfdZaA/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/WEfTkt9x48g/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/Dkt5r4vxqVw/v-deo.html

Your english is perfect! 🙂 This actually sounds like a great idea for a video, I'd love to get my hands on more Sony camera models to do some comparisons and tutorials. 😊
Shoot a colour test chart( Datacolor SpyderCheckr24: 24 Colour Patch and Grey Card for camera calibration) in the same light as the model then you have a baseline to adjust the colours and white balance.
I'm gonna go on a limb here before I start watching, and guess an 85mm and a macro lens (not surr about thr focal length, though) Edit: aah, I was half right

Would canon 70mm would fit on sony s series?
