    was keyboard shopping last night in microcenter and came across the akko mod007b, so the slightly updated version of this. i tested out basically every keyboard there[both on display and in boxes, lol] and i was just shocked at how much nicer than everything there this board both felt and sound. i was ready to grab parts and just build my own, but i just liked the feel of this board way too much to leave it behind. moving from a corsair keyboard that was like 180 at purchasing, the quality difference so far feels honestly insane, and i loved my corsair.

    • @TheRageAcademy
      @TheRageAcademy Місяць тому

      That’s a big difference coming from the Corsair. It’s really the sound of the mod007 that sold me (and the affordable pricing) they make some really great stuff. I’m a huge fan of the hall magnetic switches as well

    I mainly want this keyboard because of the design. I have a few keyboards now and had decided to stop buying any more, but that design is too nice I might cave in. Also, this video has such a clean production quality.

      The design is what pulled me into it. I love the soft pink colors and the cats on the keycaps (my fiance liked it so much she took it from me).
      The formula for if you need a new keyboard is K+1, where K is the current amount of keyboards you own ☺️
      Thanks for the compliment! Kudos!

      @TheRageAcademy Місяць тому

      @@BlaziKent94 I’m sure there is. But I’m not sure how much of it is end-user changeable. It’s always a balancing act out of the building materials, switches, keycaps, foam, etc.
      I will say that maybe my little mix doesn’t do this on justice. It’s plenty loud in person

    I was wondering how come many manufactures of HE keyboards specify they are compatible with their/xxx switches only, like even Keychron Q1 HE states "*The Q1 HE is compatible with the magnetic switches sold on the Keychron website only.". Why is that so? Does that stay true to Boog75 as well?
    Another question that came to my mind - Are all HE keyboards (makers) with their magnetic switches have the feature of secondary activation (ex. press W to walk, press harder to Sprint) or it depends on if the switch has such support and respectively the software supplied by the keyboard maker? Thanks for the video.

    • @TheRageAcademy
      @TheRageAcademy 2 місяці тому +1

      I think it mostly comes down to ecosystem proprietary BS. I'm a fan of products having actual after market support. Functionally, I don't think there's much of a difference other than the keying system to get the switch to actually stay in the PCB.
      I think the secondary function depends heavily on the brand and their after market support with software. I think it's really cool that they can do it with magnetic switches but I'm not about to say all brands can do this. So far out of the two magnetic keyboards I've reviewed, the 60HE and the Mod007, they both can do it.
      Hope this helps!

    • @seanfontiveros3455
      @seanfontiveros3455 Місяць тому

      @@TheRageAcademythere is a difference actually. Some magnets on the switches themselves vary from being larger to smaller so the actuations and the pcb detecting the fluctuations, varies from different HE switches.

    The non stop rapid trigger works same as wooting?
    Wooting can detect when u press or realese the key without and actuall set point right? Akko is same or only in actuan points u configure?
    Loved everything from the review :D

    • @TheRageAcademy
      @TheRageAcademy 2 місяці тому

      Thanks man! 😎
      They both function pretty identically. As soon as the PCB begins to detect upward travel of the switch, it’s reprimed to be actuated again.
      The biggest difference between Akko and wooting with this feature would probably be how quickly the PCB begins to detect the upward travel of the switch. This is an assumption but I’m going to say the wooting is probably faster/more accurate just based on the fact that the magnet in the lekker switch is HUGE compared to the Akko switch

      If you’re looking for raw gaming performance, the Wooting 60HE all the way. Akko is on the right path to getting there but I think Wooting has the edge.

    Hey i’m trying to get a wireless mouse but not sure what to choose My grip is Relaxed Claw and my hands are quite small. I’m torn between the Pulsar X2V2 mini/medium, Any of latest Lamzu mice (Atlantis Mini, Maya, Thorn, OG v2) or a gpx (the first one since it’s a decent price) or any other recommendations that are better?

    • @TheRageAcademy
      @TheRageAcademy 4 місяці тому

      Hmmmm. I think you’re right on the money. My go to would be the Pular X2V2 mini, but all these mice are very different shapes. Are there any mice in the past that you used that you really like? Are you looking for something symmetrical or ergo?

    • @vezkn
      @vezkn 4 місяці тому +1

      Latest one was a razer basilisk and wasn’t very good imo because of the clicks but it was comfortable enough for its ergo shape. I like the look of the Pulsar x2v2 mini but i heard pulsars QC is terrible. The Lamzu thorn looks pretty good for its ergo shape. But i’m not sure if I want to play it safe or not and go with a gpx 1. I’m ok with symmetric but I heard ergo is by far more comfortable. I also heard that the Op1we is solid too for a small hand mouse but the sensor is a little outdated but apparently it performs completely fine. I play a mix of tactical and tracking so idrk what would perform best for me

    • @TheRageAcademy
      @TheRageAcademy 4 місяці тому

      Unfortunately, the shape is all going to be personal preference. I consider some of the shapes are a “gotta try it for yourself” type. The GPX1 and the X2V2 are both symmetrical but feel very different. Probably the biggest difference is where the slop of the mouse is. The slope on the GPX starts in the middle and is really truly symmetrical in that way, where as the x2v2 will slope more in the back towards the palm, which is usually better for claw. Another difference is the x2v2 has small indentations on the m1/m2 paddles (check my video out for examples). I can’t speak about other people’s pulsar experiences but I own 2 X2V2’s and 1 X2Hes and I’ve experienced no problems.
      If you’re in the US/Canada your safest bet would probably be going to a Best Buy to try out a GPX1, potentially even buying it, this way if you don’t like it, you can just return it back to the store, no questions asked.
      If you’re on a budget, I suggest checking out attack shark on Amazon. Their mouse comes with the same sensor as the x2v2 (PAW3395) and sells for like 40 bucks
