Love this rendition so much. Joe’s voice sounds so soulful, smooth and understatedly powerful. Surprised to see not many people commenting on how good his acting was while performing this song. It is a studio recorded audio because this microphone without wire is not a wireless model and there is no way they could record audio this quality with many people around on location. But Joe’s acting really sells it like a live performance. Kudos to him for remembering all the runs and his personal touches on the song to sync it perfectly and singing the song with his heart out in every videotaping take. There are a couple times he broke character with a smile at Frankie and fellow actors/crew, and it’s adorable.

I know there was a few live performances, mostly Blaines, cause Darren preferred that but they weren't dubbed. The live version would air on tv and then they'd put a studio recording on the album. It's why he's not crying on the album version of acoustic teenage dream like he does in the show.

This was one of my favorite scenes in the entire episode. I was completely in awe during his performance. It’s about time Seb got his musical moment. I hope he’ll get more in the show. He’s such an amazing singer. I kept replaying this scene because his cover is so good and he just has an amazing voice. I can’t get enough of this cover. I love the way Carlos is looking at Seb as he’s performing. Truly in love.

I remember when he started singing this song it actually took me a few moment to figure out what he was singing as it sound super familiar and then the chorus hit and then I was like “this is perfect song choice” plus there’s a lot of levels to the song plus a massive reference to a previous Disney movie and it’s just a great song too
