Watching the event, it seemed more like he was trying to educate the Libertarians on how close to his beliefs are to theirs. I liked how he used the words one of their own used to describe those beliefs, Trump read each one in the author's words. Trump's final remark, that they could continue to waste their votes never getting more than 3% was spot on...sadly, appears it might be ideology over intelligence, because bottom line there are only two choices:

I learned two things tonight. First I had no idea about the Libertarians numbers being at 3% as far as having a say or at least being heard. 2. I always thought that Libertarians were closer to conservatives than libs. Some of them definitely proved me wrong tonight. I guess the description for some of them is in their name.
As I've said twice before in previous comments Trump threw out a "political" lifeline and some of them couldn't even see it. That maybe the only one they get. Their ship came right on stage before they're very eyes and a number of them watched it go right back out to sea without getting on board. 😬

Everyone upset about the crowd needs to realize just b/c trump showed up doesn’t earn their love and respect or vote. They have every right to be passionate about wanting an actual libertarian for their candidate but he def stood strong, put them on the map in a sense (I never knew they had a nat’l convention) and gave them real reasons to vote for him. THIS is what our country is about. They voice their opinion, he took it and gave it his best shot. I’m impressed all around!!!
Well, using my right to voice my opinion, that crowd was, for the most part, rude, disrespectful, and uncivilized. Trump gave them total respect, but they acted shamefully!
@@capybara39419 I listened on here so all I could hear were boos, but he seemed to handle it perfectly well. He clearly wasn’t bothered. He gave it back to them by rubbing in their 3% and gave them good reasons to consider him. I think it was a W for Trump overall. He’s a big boy and wears big boy pants so I’m not worried about his feelings. Reminded me of that Bill Burr stand up show in Philly where he just talked 💩 for his whole time and at the end they loved him. They might not like him, may not vote for him, but in the end they will respect him for this.
