I was wondering whether I'd remember whatever game you had. You said Deceptor, and I was thinking that I think I do remember that one... Saw the game start and yep, that's what I thought. I did remember that one! So my memory isn't totally gone yet!!! WooHoo! ;-)
Deceptor looks like good fun - I don't think I played it, but it looks great! He-Man, now there's a classic. It's always a good time checking out these games with you Tom, it takes me back and that excitement is there!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Deceptor was a blast to revisit, and it’s always great hearing how certain games spark memories. He-Man is definitely one of those classics that stays with you. Playing through these titles really does bring back that sense of nostalgia, and it’s awesome knowing it connects with you too! Thanks for the kind words, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the journey through these retro gems!
"Deceptor" looks cool. Certainly an original concept if anything. I like the music on "Deathscape" too, even if the game itself appears to be a bit monotonous. I think I might have played that particular "He-man" game before (back in the day of course). Something about it seems very familiar, especially it's graphical style. Some interesting games on this floppy.
Yeah, Deceptor definitely stands out with its unique gameplay! I totally agree about Deathscape-the music is one of the more interesting parts, even if the gameplay can get repetitive. And He-Man definitely has that nostalgic charm-seems like a lot of people have memories of playing it back in the day. Glad to hear you’re enjoying these games along with me! There’s always something cool to rediscover on these old floppies.
It's fun going through old crack disks. I bought a Commodore 128D off some guy in 1995 which came with about 100 disks and only went through them a few years ago when I got my first SX-64 as the 128D internal drive was a bit too high mileage.
Deceptor is good. I am with you on the others. I probably wouldn't have played them again after checking them out on the disk back then. Great vid as always.
U.S. Gold was a British video game company that wrote their own games but they primarily published games which they imported from the US, so those ones were probably all NTSC friendly. I guess some of the U.S. Gold versions of these games got pirated and re-imported into the US. Many US companies didn't have their own distribution outside of the US so U.S. Gold handled that for them in the UK and Europe. There is a Wikipedia page for U.S. Gold.
U.S. Gold definitely played a big role in bringing U.S. games to Europe! They handled distribution for many American developers who didn't have a direct presence overseas, which is why their versions of games were often adapted for the PAL format but still ended up pirated and re-imported to the U.S. It's crazy how global the scene became back then. Thanks for pointing that out-I'll have to dive into more U.S. Gold titles in future videos!
Good fun! Thanks for sharing. I don't remember these games in my trading area. On the rare occasion I saw something from Germany or Britain, I figured it probably was brought by a returning military person.
Glad you enjoyed it! It’s amazing how certain games were region-specific or harder to find depending on where you were. Getting those rare imports definitely felt special, like discovering hidden treasures. Thanks for sharing your experience!
There are three He-Man games on the C64, the one you played is probably the most well known but there's also an overhead Gauntlet style game (based on the amazing movie...) and a text adventure version. Those last two are called Masters of the Universe though. Unfortunately none of them are great but at least, by the power of Grayskull!, you have options.
OMG, He Man! I so bugged my dad to buy me this when I was 9, and then we couldn´t load it, because we had a c128, and this was one of the 1% Games that didn´t work... I did not know that back then of course... thought something was wrong with my datasette... I always had to go to one of my buddies to play it... Horrible controls at first, but when you get the hang of it, the game is enjoyable... It was also the first game I managed to beat... Awesome times...
That’s a great memory! It must have been frustrating back then, not knowing why certain games wouldn’t work on the C128. I’ve had similar issues with specific games, where it turned out to be a compatibility problem or something quirky about the hardware setup. It sounds like He-Man was one of those games where persistence paid off, despite the tricky controls. Cool to hear it was also your first game to beat-must have felt like a huge victory! Thanks for sharing your story!
Watching a couple videos now, you feel like an old friend! Good stuff. Got disks not played for donation if interested. My name is Marc P. Nice journey back with a Tudor!
That’s one of the nicest comments I ever got, thank you. When I’m talking to the camera I imagine I’m just talking to an old friend. I am very interested in the disk. Thank you and thanks for watching.
Icwas interested in watching your videos. But, the way you have your video set up with so many windows, and your phone swinging back and forth... sorry man. Can't watch.

lol 😂. I feel your pain with the memory my friend. Glad you still remember these classics and hope it brings you some nostalgia.
Software on BBSes must have been really regional. I've never seen most of your stuff
Hey RB, it was whatever was being passed around in my area or whatever groups other Sysops were a part of and shared on their BBSs.
The Heman music was cool, but it would get old.
Yes, for sure! Thanks for watching!

I remember playing AlleyKat back in the day. It was also on the C64 mini.
It's amazing how these games keep popping up on new platforms!

Yep they were a one and done type of games. I did enjoy He-man.
Hey Tom, how goes it? Thanks for the latest video. What is the Fastload cart you use? Epyx? Cheers from over the pond.
Hello! Thanks for watching! Epyx is correct. Always good to hear from over the pond!

@@OperationPhantom Thanks for the info. I had no idea. I want to try the Gauntlet style one. Thanks for Watching!
Deceptor! Loved that one back in the day, finally was able to beat it recently (with the help of many snapshots). I wish it was a longer game.
It’s a great game! I need to try and finish it. Thanks for Watching!
Nice video, thanks.
@@yucelbilik Thanks for Watching!
Great content on that Floppy! Greetings from Switzerland!
It’s always great to hear from other collectors around the globe! Thanks for Watching!
I love these videos, i have hundreds of C=64 games. Most are original, didn't pirate much still don't, i like collecting
Thank you! Nice, I would like to see your collection. I enjoy collecting too. My original collection has really taken off. Thanks for Watching!
