I moved to Lincolnshire 10 months ago and I love this county and I have barely started exploring, whether i travel around on the train or more usually drive it's amazing how far away I can see the Lincoln cathedral. I'd say it is one of the less stressful places or more to the point it's a huge county with lots of pleasant towns and villages to de-stress, the city of Lincoln has to be 1 of the more interesting especially if you love the past like i do.
My birthplace and home until 12-13. I got dragged to London which was great. However now im in the South I dream of living in Lincoln again. Best city and county in the UK.
I couldn't agree more, the spirit of Lincoln is strong. My home county , so proud to be a yellow 💛 belly . ❤ to THE CITY OF LINCOLN 🙏❤️🏴🇬🇧 JUL TWENTY FOUR
Lived in Lincoln for a decade and it's not bad nor is it stressful. IIRC, Skegness was given a bad name as well; some people complain about anything and don't know how lucky they are. Try living in North Devon and some of the villages where tourism and second homes are killing the place. It's a nightmare every summer.
Since you ask, opposite the strugglers is a row of terraces. Before they were built there was a small green, this is where the last public executions were carried out. The pub was used as a holding place for the condemned. Thats the story as I've been told it.
Strugglers is called that because all that was sentenced to hang for their crimes where offered a last pint before they was sent to the Castle to be hung. The bodies were then sent to the cellar of the Wig & Mitre, the pub which you have shown from the less attractive back entrance then walked past the front entrance without showing it lol Good video though
You didn't go as far as The Lawns, the elegant white building at the other end of the castle walls. There is a bar and restaurant there or was. It was used in the 18th century as an asylum by Dr Francis Willis who treated King George III. 🤴 Near there was the Old barracks which became museum of Lincolnshire Life. I remember there were interesting displays like a traction engine and one if the first WW1 era tanks. They were built in Lincoln. Lots of other displays about crafts, agriculture, military life etc
I love visiting Lincoln. It’s a great place for a weekend away 😊

Sooner go to Lincoln than Notts or Leicester from where I live in Grantham.
I love Lincoln as much as anyone but you have stayed in the nicest bit.
What you mean is- Go hang around St Giles and the Ermine 😂😂

Car parking isn't great in Lincoln and it makes it dificult to visit Sincil bank for the football!
Its stressful because it's Labour run i should say.
