Hairstyling is an important part of many of our residents’ weekly routines. It’s a confidence boost, a chance to socialize and an opportunity for some well-deserved relaxation.
Anna Phillips is our hair stylist at Andrews of Summerside. She’s been in the business for most of her adult life and finds working with seniors especially rewarding.
“Whenever I graduated I either wanted to be hairdresser or work with seniors. Now I have the best of both worlds,” she said. “I love making them feel good. I think it’s good for their mental health. Just to go out and get something done for yourself and take time for yourself. I feel that it’s important, even if it is just a half an hour a week, just to take that time for you and to make yourself feel beautiful.”
