Ultrasonic sensors can be impacted by humidity and water vapor, which may cause them to malfunction, especially in water tanks. Pressure sensors, on the other hand, are more reliable for such applications as they measure the pressure of the liquid, which is unaffected by humidity. They are more durable and provide consistent readings over time in water tanks.

Thank you for your insight! While it’s true that humidity and water vapor can affect standard ultrasonic sensors, we’ve addressed this by using a waterproof ultrasonic sensor, which is specifically designed for such environments. Its sealed probe and weatherproof housing ensure durability and consistent performance, even in high-humidity conditions.
Pressure sensors are indeed reliable and offer unique advantages for measuring liquid levels, but they also come with their own limitations, such as requiring proper calibration for different tank sizes and shapes, and sensitivity to small leaks or air bubbles in the system.
In terms of cost, the waterproof ultrasonic sensor we’re using is significantly more affordable, typically priced at around $10-15, compared to pressure sensors that often range from $50-100 for similar applications. For home and non-commercial use, this cost-effectiveness makes ultrasonic sensors a more practical choice without compromising functionality.
In fact, we’ve been using this setup in our water tank for over three months now without any issues, and it continues to deliver accurate and consistent readings.

Ultrasonic sensor is not suitable for placing inside water tank. It will stop working after a few days because of high humidity levels in the tank. It is better to use a pressure sensor instead.

Thank you for your comment! We're using a waterproof ultrasonic sensor, which is specifically designed to handle high-humidity environments and water exposure. The sensor probe is sealed to prevent corrosion, and its circuitry is securely housed in a weatherproof box, ensuring long-term reliability and protection against moisture. This makes it an excellent choice for water tank applications.
