@@gmontenegro9711 yeah kinda and if the white (use the same or close to the same color as the color you are trying not to leak onto) leaks under the tape you won't notice because it is the same(or close enough) as the original. And yes the new color won't be able to leak because the fist layer would stop it
Had to watch this a few times before I could work out why that method worked. I’m painting and struggling to get a straight line so I’m gonna give this a go.🤷🏽♀️😂
If you don't have textured walls, you could use a credit card to really get the seam down or use more expensive frog tape. If you have texture, use this method. Works every time
Yes, as long as you have the same base color you’re about to paint over. So that when it bleeds, and it usually does, it bleeds the same color on top of itself
Sometimes the paint will bleed through, that’s why it’s best to learn the technique of cutting it without taping it, specially if you’re working on a budget.
How long does the first coat of base colour need to dry? I did my first corner (thankfully slightly hidden) with frog tape and had bleeding so trying to find a solution before attempting another!
Tried it and it worked like a charm! Thank you so much for this tip. I’m not longer afraid of doing accent walls as I know I can get a clean line every time!
I thought it was explained, my apologies. For example, if your wall is white and you want to paint half pink. #1 place your tape #2 paint the tape line white #3 paint it pink over the side you painted white over the line. #4 peel the tape off, revealing a crisp pink and white line

Makes sense the first coat eliminates the ability to leak under the tape.
Ooooh is that what it is? The first layer tightly seals the tape to the surface??

@@Bridgett. Yes….
Thank you this makes this hack more clear! Seen another video and damn near lost my mind! 😂
that makes sense. it bleeds the color the wall already is. brilliant and yet so simple.
You can run a slightly damp rag along the tape edge to seal it tighter..then remove while paint still wet after a few mins to settle.
Correct, that's what the paint is basically doing, but the flaw is you have to wait for the paint to dry versus the water, which is faster
@@BallingRaptor yip 👍
My mind is blown… I keep seeing this trick lol and I can’t figure out how it works. But will try it out!!
Won't this only work if you have the exact background colour?
Yes, as long as you have the same base color you’re about to paint over. So that when it bleeds, and it usually does, it bleeds the same color on top of itself
Holding the cardboard still on the 2nd pull also helped.
i needed this, i am gonna try it today

Agreed
It just doesn't make sense though to paint with the current color first, most of the time people don't have the current color still.
Exactly. A lot of people paint when they move into a new home, so unlikely to know what the exact colour was before 😔
No need for under coat if same colour, pull the tape off while still wet, works for me
That's right. Unless you have knockdown or texture walls. The paint will go under the texture, but this trick seems to help.
Nice trick
What is the name of this tape?
Cool 🤩
Wow. Thanks 👍🏾
You’re welcome ☺️

@@chrysanthemumfairy that’s awesome! Thanks for sharing ❤️
If you have the 1st color! Great hack tho.
Genius
I just never have this issue with frog tape. Don't cheap out on painters tape. I'm sorry but I don’t have time or money to paint twice.
or push down the edge of the tape with a bread tag or a credit card..
Great tip!
Girl you’ve cracked the code ! 🤯🙌🙌🙌🤩🤩🤩🤩

Will this work on a corner
Yes, as long as it’s the same color as the base
What the... thanks for the video ❤
