How does your sig bdx app have so many options under “firearm” tab? Like twist rate, zero height.. I only have 3 options not 7.

The only metric with a hunting gun is how consistent your cold bore shot is. If it won't hit your poa after the barrel break in then a) check for loose action/scope screws, b) try different ammo, c) if all else fails, get someone to develop a load to see if it helps.
If it still doesn't hit the poa on a cold bore shot just get rid of it. Not worth the time or effort messing around with a gun that doesn't shoot straight.
Done the same thing with same rifle in 6.5 creed and .308 winny.
It’s not that difficult.
Hell it’s harder to find 1000 yard range then to make the shot.

Cool story about my grandpa John. I was at a viewing this evening when an older man told me that when he was a young man, he was cleaning out John Kurtz's chicken house when John came out of the house, carrying an old gun that he proceeded to clean. It didn't appear to be in good shape but he kept messing around with it. Finally the young man told him that it was almost hunting season and he'd better get some practice in.
John got out a box of shells, opened it, and asked, "How many are missing?"
"Ten," the young man said.
And John replied, "I got ten deer with those ten shells."
That's pretty impressive! It would come in very handy hunting smallish deer here in Florida...lol 😂😅 Love what ya'll are doing ❤️
Good job Trent, way to get it done. Right tools, right bal calc makes the job pretty easy in the long run. BTW, great trigger control, 90 press and folow thru.
That's funny. The velo and the app/math with poi shift is something I have absolutely used when I was zeroing and messing around with a new optic. I'm glad Sig is finally opening up the caliber list for the ol cross. Love the platform, haven't been excited about the cartridges offered thus far. 300 win mag is a winner though!
Too bad you can’t buy the gun they keep advertising so much.
A tip of the cap to sig for producing their factory 300 win to a faster twist to accommodate for todays heavier/longer bullets

Someone has been shown trigger control. That can really helps. Great basic/advanced video.
Yup BRO's posated a vid last year shooting off tripod and got the skinny on correct trigger control. Makes a HUGE difference. 90 degreed pressn not pull, keep it held back for follow thru.
How much does the target elevation come into play with dope?
Once you get a poi nailed down at say 400-500 yd,. you can then easily get dope in the app dial the scope to get the hit at most distances.
