Thank you for your tutorial. You may want to disable CC. Enable it, move the video to 12:50 and run it from there. It could be offensive as CC doesn't always "interpret" (translate) the wording you are actually speaking. I turned CC on because even with my speakers volume at 100%, your lovely voice is soft so CC helps. Thanks for showing us alternatives to LED circuts and slider switches.

Thanks for the heads up, I've switched off captions! The word was actually fingers...Unless you are very hard of hearing, I am surprised that you can't hear me on here. It is a good idea to check the settings on the device you are using, sometimes there is more than one place where the volume is altered. Just one example of this is limiting when using headphones or earbuds. Also, I have noticed that when I swap earbuds (I have several types inc bluetooth) the device does not always use the same settings. In some cases, swapping over even switches on the mute button! I suggest you do a YT search on checking sound settings for apps on apple and windows devices, you may be surprised at what you find out!

@@createinspain Thanks for the sound recommendations. I'll troubleshoot after I finish my example per your tutorial. I do hope you weren't offended by my post. I'd never intentionally or unintentionally offend anyone... just thought you may appreciate the alert considering the how it could hurt someone's feelings, unintentionally of course. Love your tutorials. Please keep sharing. Kindest regards.

@@donnadailey5062 Good heavens, I'm not offended! I do play back part of my edited videos to check sound though, and know that there is nothing wrong with it as uploaded..but if anyone mentions it, I do check again, just to make sure. If I played this at full volume, it would be WAY too loud! :) Very occasionally I get people who, like you were unable to hear the sound but I don't think I have ever found an issue with a video. I use an iPad to edit and believe me, by the time I'm done, I'm sick of my own voice! I then upload via my laptop and check again. I know for a fact, that settings vary from app to app, no matter what you do with your phone or iPad buttons, and it definitely makes a difference depending on what earbuds or headphones you use. However, when playing back you can be assured that it will have been through iPad speakers, laptop speakers and at least one set of earbuds!

Great tutorial. Am I to understand that we can rip apart fairy lights to do this? Thanks!

Yes, you can indeed. You do need to either strip plastic away from the wire ends, or, if they are the naked metal wire type, sand off the protective coating. You can also change the colour of the bulbs by using alcohol markers. I find the cheap battery sets work very well and can be picked up for under 5 Euros a set.

Does battery strength make a difference? I ask because there are so many different size button batteries out there.

I use a CR2016 (thin ones) or the thicker Cr2032.

The CR-2032 batteries are 3 volts, so in principle any button battery that is 3V will work. The larger the battery, the longer the lights should stay lit.
