- Hard NG KMS current world record with a loadless time of 1:51:38. When I achieved this time my goal was just to get sub 2h RTA... I didn't expect to blow past it like this.
NG refers to New Game, as opposed to New Game+.
KMS refers to the Kick Me Sign which Olivia places on Gene's back at the beginning of stage 1-2. It will stay on your back for the entire game as long as you don't use the God Hand or Roulettes.
Keep in mind that this is a speedrun and the point is to go fast.

@@abrahamzee2977 Yo thanks. Maybe some day, it'll take a LOT of work to get both better RNG and execution than this one. I had a deathless run in the category that was much slower, it'd be quite the feat to get one that's both fast and deathless.

Yeah, a lot of people talk about High Side Kick Cancels, but the real MVPs in KMS are Charged Punch, Handplant Kick and Rocket Uppercut.

Well, not ~every~ time. There's some deaths in this one. A few PBs back there was a deathless run in this category but the extra caution meant slower approaches and it chewed up so much time.

@@farilnurdiansyah2848 Because of speedrunning I was forced to practice it constantly... the best thing I could suggest is to practice on the wooden training dummy. Maybe make sure your controller has no input issues. If I could see your attempts I could probably give more detailed insight.

There is a challenge called God Foot where you play through the game without ever using arm based attacks. It's a more of a bother than it sounds like it is.

@@nicktronson2977 Thank you for the compliment! There's also a fair amount of luck on display in this run as well, as with every speedrun you can't just have skill, you need the RNG on your side to some extent as well.
I always try to rely on boxing combos, but when I see you play with very fast hand movements it makes me think that my way of playing is still nothing :V
I wouldn't say it's nothing, speedrunning is a different beast and requires specific strategies to go fast but that doesn't mean that the methods would necessarily be optimal for normal gameplay.

Y'know, from a performance standpoint, when I look back at this I think my gameplay at this point is nothing special - this is how Azel fights go. However, viewing it from how the movement looks, yeah it looks pretty slick.

Yeah, most players forget that even in KMS you can still use God Hand and Roulettes in stage 1-1 because Olivia hasn't placed the sign on your back yet. Perfect reason to use every resource you have until the restrictions actually happen.

I actually used to play Tekken competitively, the people it forced me to be around made it very not worth it.
your fighting skills are insane, how did you not choke on the Elvis fight when he combo-ed his one frame jumps like that 😂
He's one of my favorite fights and I still miss those sometimes _under way less pressure_

Elvis's jump is definitely not one frame but it usually comes down to the fact that his attack timing is predictable, you can never know which attack is coming, but you can often know when it will come. That makes many attacks far easier to dodge.
Having said that, I don't even dodge the jumps optimally. The Japanese runners are a lot more practiced on dodging it with the small number of i-frames that your sidestep has, and that's way better.

What did you use to play the game? I'm planning to buy it on PS3 but it could have some input lag. Anyways, great run!
I always play on real PS2. You'll be glad to know however that I don't remember there being any noticeable input latency on the PS3 version, however I still have that available so I could test it.

Brother what happens once you finished the game like in the end you save the game and continue to play then you will have access to double god hand right? Plus you can shop everything in stage one itself right? Answer me my friend
The game never gives you Double God Hand under any circumstances, you'll only see that in videos where the game has been modified. NG+ just makes it so that most of the attacks in the game are available in the shop right from the start (there's a few exceptions) and most money sources are doubled.

How can you keep repeating just the first two punches of your combo without going into the rest of the moves?
By placing the second hit you intend to do on the Triangle button then alternating between the two, Square -> Triangle -> repeat.
Left Jab -> Straight is 6|0 frames to 7|1 frames though so it's a bit awkward at first but you get used to it pretty quick.

@@TechniqueSan It was a while of speedrunning the game before I thought to do it, too. And a much longer time before I decided to finally push myself to start trying to apply it in runs. Now I absolutely cannot function without it.

Whats the kick you keep on using?
It's just the High Side Kick. You start with High Side Kick 1, I upgrade it to High Side Kick 2 in stage 4, then to High Side Kick 3 in stage 7.
@@Zana_G thanks man, I was playing god hand some days back in normal difficulty, in stage 1 itself in elvis house, in that jewellery room, I was in transition between level 3 and level die and then I cannot deal with crowd fights, especially with those 2 alexander guys 🤣🤣 , I cannot peacefully hit one guy one by one, any tip on that?

This run is real hardware, so controller. Emulator is currently not allowed on the leaderboard because it does not run the game accurately enough.

what is NG KMS mean?
NG means New Game (rather than New Game+) and KMS refers to the Kick Me Sign, which is the sign Olivia places on Gene's back at the beginning of stage 1-2. To keep the sign on his back you must not use roulettes or the God Hand for the rest of the game.

That's just a basic High Side Kick Cancel, you just use dodges to cancel the High Side Kick so that you can do it repeatedly.
