Thank you so much for the memories.I was a student at the High School of Agios Nikolaos at the time.I can believe all these scenes from the past.The square, the church.the road down to the port,the bridge connecting the sea with Lake Of Vouliagmene. My home now is Canada but Crete is part of us for ever.
I also want to thank you from the depths of my heart for this series ov videos. Now, here's what I recognize in this segment : This is the part of your visit to Lassithi. At first you show us St. George Selinari, then I saw the central square in Neapolis and the the lake of Aghios Nikolaos with the small bridge. After that, I see some windmills that used to pump water on the Oropedio Lassithiou and then the entrance of the Gouverniotissa monastery as you were on your way back to Heraklion.
Hi, the military caps that you mention are not German! Their school uniform was like that , the boys had to wear them even when not at school. Thank you for posting.
How do you know? They look like German officer caps. But it is curious how every boy is wearing one. Your story does make sense, but it would be helpful to get a little more background about this point. Thanks.
Well, it is common knowledge in Greece. My father had to wear one. As you can see, the girls wear their school uniform as well (blue dresses with white collars). I was born, raised and still living there :-) . I do not recognise someone though.

Thank you very much for your input. It is great to see such enthusiasm from our fellow Cretans who embrace our recent history.
And thank you for your input! It's great to have a better understanding of what we are watching.
@JohnSooklaris
Olga990648 is correct, those were regulation school unifroms of the era. My father used to wear a similar one.
yes, the caps were part of the male uniform at the time. I can see my mom walk hand in hand with one of her school mates! Nice video and edit! Thanks
