What I love about her makeup technique is that she takes her time. She's never rushing applying anything, and it always comes out looking beautiful in the end.
I often watch other videos on youtube, and follow their advice of applying makeup. I then come back to watching Lisa Eldridge's videos and learn the CORRECT way to apply makeup, as an art and a talent, where less is more and applying foundation with a shovel is not the done thing. Thank you Lisa for constantly restoring my love for makeup, we are all so grateful to you
Lisa, I just want to say, that I love the way you dress yourself. Beneath your gorgeous make-up knowledge and talent you have a really ladylike-girly-classy style. It's always the perfect mixture and that really impresses me. It's great to see that.
I love how you break down how to apply the look and give tips to make it work for anyone. Love the way you also show products and brushes you use to pull the look together. Thank you so much for taking that much time. I am so happy I found your channel. :)
Lisa, you can't imagine how JEALOUS I feel right now, thinking of you meeting Emma and doing a make up in such a lovely face. I absolutely love her, and her work. And she looks like a really nice and kind person. You made a great job with her. Thanks for sharing this with us. x
You are, without a doubt, the best makeup guru on youtube. You appreciate subtlety AND drama, you have an acute artistic sense, and your experience and knowledge are endless. Amazing.
Watched this video when I was about 15 and a total baby! I was totally in love with makeup back then i remember thinking this is the kind of makeup i want to weeaarrr! I just felt an itch to look for this video today recapture my childhood!
and here it is, I was so expecting this and looking forward. It looks androgynous with the strong brows and I like what you did last time with your boyish look, it's one of my favourites!
i actually wear my mascara like this quite alot. i think it makes you look rly wide-eyed and fresh. definitely makes sense for what you were going for on the shoot. its amazing how something as simple as mascara can be so pretty and transforming. great tutorial lisa :)
I was so excited to open my issue of Elle this month and see your picture in the "Makeup Artist Reccomend" section. I really enjoy all of your videos, your tips, tricks and background history. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your reply! I also tried your advise following one of my comments about putting red lip pencil all over and just a touch of lipstick on top. Wearing it right now actually with a touch of black eyeliner (feeling like I'm back in France) and so far so good, no runny lipstick or red undefined lips! Thank you for all your great tips and for taking the time to be so accessible and kind. xx
This is such a pretty, polished and cool look. Definitely office appropriate, but not boring. I never miss a video, Lisa. Thank you so much for your amazing and unique channel xo
Gorgeous makeup, Lisa. Emma is lucky to have had you working on her. I have started not wearing eyeliner more and more since watching your videos but sometimes I can't help but feel that my eyes really DO need liner. I'm not sure if it's just that I'm so used to using it or if it's something about my eyes. In any event, you can pull off the no eyeliner look like no other! xx
@makeup0012 I like to wash them every time. I only use brush cleaner when I'm actually on a job and need them cleaned immediately. Threre's nothing like a really good wash for cleaning them properly and getting them back into shape ... and soft again x
No you don't look anything like the lovely Emma Watson.........You look more like the BEAUTIFUL Lisa Eldridge .. Another brilliant video. I am so inspired that someone as talented and extremely busy takes time to share there knowledge with us. Thank You Lisa xxx
Lisa, i love how this look totally goes against everything we are taught about 'spider lashes' and 'clumpy-ness'! It isn't something i would really wear because i love long and feathery, really separated lashes but this shows how a fantastic makeup artist can break the 'rules' and make it look brilliant!
you have such a lovely, calming voice! i started dozing off watching this video, not that it was boring at all, but i could listen to you talk all day! you definitely make the best makeup tutorials
@christi4200 I think they are about o re-launch that product with new shades and formulation so maybe hold off if you can. SC1 has one pale and one very pink shade (too pink for me) whereas SC2&3 are more neutral/yellow x
When you posted the pics of the shoot on your website, i looked at them and instantly loved them! Its been desktop background ever since! I love this, it is like you said fun, and fresh. Love the lip colour! x
I just wanted to let you know that I love your work and appreciate the fact that you take the time to put new videos on so frequently. Could you do a day look using Chanel for woman in their 40s. Thanks
@CM992 what about using blotting papers throughout the day? Very oily skins need to blot and powder 2-3 times during the day (or more) to keep things under control. There is no foundation or powder that will completely control a very oily skin for hours on end... unfortunately x
I love how Emma's hair is growing out, it's the perfect length now Very interesting to see how Lisa applied Emma's mascara in the video. Very thick but yet not clumpy
was just thinking today how much i'd love to see you do this cover, then i found out you actually did the makeup on emma! perfect, stunning cover and photos
Lisa....This look is brilliant....and btw it made you look 5 years younger...great look for you...I am going to attempt to try it...seems like a great fresh everyday look!
@BeautyObsessive depends what type of MUA you want to be.... New York good for fashion, LA good for film industry... Miami there is a lot of catalogue stuff (obviously there is crossover between all three but generally thats the case). good Luck X
@missvelezbeauty I like Cliniques Blemish Solutions foundation and No7's Beautifully Matte as both are matte with coverage and also contain ingredients that clean pores whilst you wear it. Neutrogena has a similar one (sorry forgotten the name of it now ... Healthy Skin maybe?) X
You should check out the maybelline color tattoos! They've got four new neutral colors that are limited edition for the fall, so maybe one of those or "Tough as Taupe" or "Audacious Asphalt" from the permanent range would satisfy you. They're very low cost, and are a cream-gel formula that makes them very smooth, opaque, and blend-able but also very long lasting.
@agigitygoo123 if its very flaky a tinted moisturiser will work better than a foundation as it wont highlight the dryness... these days you can find really good drugstore high street ones (like No7) x
i absolutely adore you, and your videos. You basically have my dream job...sigh. i do makeup for weddings and such...and i receive many great tips from watching you. thank you for inspiring me, and makeup artists in general. you are very appreciated!
Your videos are actually better than any of the british council courses I've been taking. I absolutely love your accent, whish I could achieve that same classy pronounciation... So thank you!
This is a beautifu look, and I love your videos! I was wondering, how did you get started in the make-up industry? And do you have any tips or recommendations? Thankyou! xo
love the brows, as soon as you added the extra length(nearest your nose) it changed the whole look...for the lashes, have you ever tried lash fibres...? you apply a layer of mascara, then the fibres, then more mascara and it makes lashes HUGE...the one i use for nights out is Jica Lash Extension. xxx
I've been told I look like Emma before so I thought I should definitely try this. I wore it today and found it very wearable; I even wore an acid yellow shadow on the lid. Very doll-like and very pretty - Thank you, Lisa :D
I have a sample-size Smashbox lash/mascara primer and I've noticed (so has my mom) that every time I use it I get a look very similar to this and it takes very little work; I just apply my mascara the same way I normally would. I've also noticed that it sticks my lashes up a little bit more (almost like it grabs the roots and pushes the lashes back toward my brows? that's the best way I can put it), which I like because my lashes will literally curl downward at the tips.
Hey, I know this questions directed at lisa but I thought I used to have really flaky dry sensitive skin- just using a little bit of facial scrub and then a serum or moisturiser for sensitive skin whenever you notice your skin getting a bit dull and dry will probably do the trick to solve it (boots botanics have some great products for that)
@Goanna1993 I do like but its not designed to be used for covering spots... it more for reflecting light. I made a 'concealer' video a while back which explains the different types of concealer and their uses x
I'm so glad you did this video! I absolutely loved the cover of Elle and I loved the article and the shoot inside. I think I'll be getting that Lancome lipstick! I love your top too!
OMG I can't believe I never saw a youtube vid of you, until now! Can't believe I never ''discovered' you! And you did Emma's makeup? SUBSCRIBED 4 LIFE!
Hi Lisa! What a great start to my wedding anniversary weekend to see that you have a new video! Great look, can't wait to try reproduce it! My husband was walking past as I was watching and he liked it too...pretty good as he is very difficult when it comes to make up, he doesnt quite get it I think! It's amazing how you look so beautiful and chic with ALL the looks that you create! Very cute top too. Love from the Frenchy from NZ. xx
lisa! i just went to london last weekend and bought 3 of your no 7 nude lip pencil! i must say i love it! haha. thank you for continuing to put up videos and sharing your expertise with us. i know you don't have to. please don't ever stop posting videos! i learn so much from you! was actually hoping to bump into you when i was in london. btw the look looks gorgeous on you :)
What I love about her makeup technique is that she takes her time. She's never rushing applying anything, and it always comes out looking beautiful in the end.
It's so awesome that you got to work with Emma Watson. She's one of my favorite actresses and she's just so gorgeous. Great video!
I love make-up looks you create! It's like they enhance the naturall beauty and usually are so delicate -- simply pretty
I often watch other videos on youtube, and follow their advice of applying makeup. I then come back to watching Lisa Eldridge's videos and learn the CORRECT way to apply makeup, as an art and a talent, where less is more and applying foundation with a shovel is not the done thing. Rewatching it still in 2021. Timeless Lisa
Okay! You look like so much Natalie Portman! It's just wow.
She looks a lot like Jill Wagner as well!
I didn't notice it at first but now you said it she totally does!
I have been thinking the same thing since I started watching her channel. She's stunning.
i've just watched the behind the scenes video. i love that you can see her freckles through the base, really nice

We are so lucky to have a incredible makeup artist that is just so nice to teach us how to do the looks of editorials and celebrities! You are lovely!

Lisa you never disappoint! Even when you do the most simple looks they come out looking so classy, fresh, and modern. You are the best! XOXO
Gorgeous look! It's so great that you can show us the ACTUAL look you did on Emma! THANK YOU!

SO i've been watching your videos for awhile now and I think this is one of if not THE best look on you. You are truly inspirational!
The look looks fabulous on you too Lisa. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I can watch your videos over and over again. I learn so much from you.
Thank You Lisa!
I really like your choice of eyeshades and lipstick. Very natural look.
Lisa, it's so amazing to keep seeing you over and over. You are very informative on the products and I really like that. This look ricks!

You are so lucky to have met so many celebrities, and they are so lucky and priveleged to have met and had their makeup by you!xx
Beautiful as ever Lisa, even though you are feeling very tired. You look fresh faced and wide eyed. Thanks for being so generous!
X Isi

Finally! It was a beautiful story and i was hoping you would do it in a video. Great video as always Lisa.
So pretty!! Lisa the Suqqu face brush looks as soft as Betty. Beautiful work as always. x
Thanks
You are such a gifted teacher! Thank you also for your kindness, too!
Lisa, i trust you so much for make up! my favourite guru ever. I love the fashion element to your makeup x
@CM992 what about using blotting papers throughout the day? Very oily skins need to blot and powder 2-3 times during the day (or more) to keep things under control. There is no foundation or powder that will completely control a very oily skin for hours on end... unfortunately x
your eyes look gorgeous!! I absolutely love this look!
I love how Emma's hair is growing out, it's the perfect length now
Very interesting to see how Lisa applied Emma's mascara in the video. Very thick but yet not clumpy
the bottom lashes remind me of twiggy... GORGEOUS
it's the 1st look I tried to recreate:) so adorable!
Looks out standing
Beautiful, I think Farrah Fawcett also used this style of mascara effect back in the 70s!
Thank you for doing this, I LOVED the make-up the minute I saw it in Elle x
was just thinking today how much i'd love to see you do this cover, then i found out you actually did the makeup on emma! perfect, stunning cover and photos
wow! one of the most gorgeous looks you have ever done! xx
Lisa....This look is brilliant....and btw it made you look 5 years younger...great look for you...I am going to attempt to try it...seems like a great fresh everyday look!
@alffiev doesnt really matter hugely as they dry pretty quickly most of them. Maybe just wait a few seconds x
lisa, emma's legs in the shoot looked amazing ! they had a nice sheen on them, was there something you used to achieve that ?
i don't know if what you're wearing is a shirt or a dress but that is the cutest thing i have ever seen!!!
watching you makes me feel so relaxed I really enjoy your tutorials keep up the great work
I think this looks really fresh and young on you too Lisa! xx
Beautiful as always! And I LOVE that mascara from Lancome. Been using it for a little over a month & it's a fav for sure. The brush is really great.
@BeautyObsessive depends what type of MUA you want to be.... New York good for fashion, LA good for film industry... Miami there is a lot of catalogue stuff (obviously there is crossover between all three but generally thats the case). good Luck X
I love you Lisa. You are so professional. Thank you for being you. Mwaa

Thank you, Lisa. I learn a little something new everytime I watch you.
This is a really beautiful look! Thank you for showing us how you did it!
it must be amazing meeting all these amazing celebrities! woww

@agigitygoo123 if its very flaky a tinted moisturiser will work better than a foundation as it wont highlight the dryness... these days you can find really good drugstore high street ones (like No7) x
Lovely! I love your hair Lisa, its stunning! How do you do it like that? If it's natural I totally have hair envy right now!! :) lol
LOVE the collar of your blouse! Really pretty!!
@myrabbitispink most lip pencils have some water resistance just because of their formulation. The No7 one is not fully waterproof though no x
love the highlighting, looks very flattering
i absolutely adore you, and your videos. You basically have my dream job...sigh. i do makeup for weddings and such...and i receive many great tips from watching you. thank you for inspiring me, and makeup artists in general. you are very appreciated!
This was great Lisa. Thank you for continually doing these films for us. xoxo
Your videos are actually better than any of the british council courses I've been taking. I absolutely love your accent, whish I could achieve that same classy pronounciation... So thank you!

@loriprettysimple its a great issue as it has the ELLE Beauty Award results (I was a panelist) and a great interview with Emma too X
I've been told I look like Emma before so I thought I should definitely try this. I wore it today and found it very wearable; I even wore an acid yellow shadow on the lid. Very doll-like and very pretty - Thank you, Lisa :D
Oh God!!! I love this kind of look so much!!! The result is lovely!! xx
@taibear couldnt be nicer...shes so lovely x
you are so lucky to have worked on her! awesome!

@Lin0ute It should be yes. I hadnt realized they were discontinued, shame because the texture was amazingly soft and silky x

I love your make up style.
It's clean simple and very chic.
