He drove directly into the most powerful breaking part of this wave. Hard to believe that humans can actually survive this kind of a beating...

tiffsaver ikr, they should’ve all their bones broken and after that drown..... well I don’t want that to happen to anyone, but I used to surf and 4-5 Meter waves were so strong so big and so scary that it just makes no sense to me how they survive these kind of waves

Yea, Ive been slammed by a 6 or 7 foot wave a few times and had my world spun and crushed. I cant imagine how these men and women must condition themselves for this stuff. Unbelievable

Omar Al-Aziz biggest I’ve ridden was 13ft. Biggest I’ve wiped out on was that same day...13ft. It was powerful, but it mostly just comes down to staying calm, holding your breath, and enjoying the ride. The moment you panic, you’re done.

I never knew france could get that big. However I think the worst wipeout out of these nominees would have to be Alain at chopes, he got absolutely mauled, did like 1.5 headover heel spins down the face of the wave then went over the falls and got destroyed then as well. INSANE

I swam farrr outside to bodysurf on like 9ft'ers on a huge swell in SD comin from a storm completely closedout not surfable whatsoever. 14-15ft biggest sets of the day come in right after I get outside. man those things looked like they were ten stories breaking in front of me I was sure I was gonna die. I cant imagine how a 25ft wave looks like from the top or even paddling out. you gotta really train physically and mentally in order to handle those without dieing.

It's scary to watch…but if you ever see these places first hand it brings it to a whole new level. Haven't been to France but that place looks crazy. What was that? Like a 50 foot wall with super strong off shores? You know when the winds are that strong you paddle in blind. You can't open your eyes cause the water feels like little needles spraying on your eyeballs. You stand, open your eyes, and see what kind of madness you got into. And Koa….dude….GNARLY! Riou's cartwheel looked painful. First he's gotta absorb that then deal with the hold down and following waves…yikes. I think they are all just freaking awesome. Hard to pick just one.

  • @Jedz999
    @Jedz999 9 років тому +43

How are you supposed to survive that?! These guys probably spent a good 10-15 seconds underwater spinning like a sock in a washing machine and trying to figure out which way is the surface while fighting the current right after taking a huge wave-slap to the face!
    Manhood confirmed

    • @whitislayer

That one at the end by Koa Rothman. Teahupoo. Nuff said. Ten foot lip girth, 25 foot wave, seriously hollow curl, high rate of speed, shallow reef.... Pfshh.... Cut it out!
Even the other Teahupoo ridden by that local guy was insane. He got ragdoll'd at light speed. I saw him smack into the face at least five times in one second lol.
That Belharra wave was sick though. That was base jumping with no chute. I cringed. Can't take away from any of the other candidates either....

***** Yeah getting held down by a set can be brutal...
The thing is, 30 seconds under a set is comparable to 2 minutes out of water. Then during that 2 minute breath hold, have someone punch you in your gut twice at 1 minute and 1 minute 30 seconds...
That's what it can feel like if you're really in a bad spot.
      Remaining clam is #1

***** What you're describing is not anything like what is shown in these wipeouts. You're describing double overhead typical California surf (or similar), which is trivial if you know what you're doing. Mavs, Jaws etc. are obviously a whole 'nother world...

Long board pra surfar essas big waves?!Seria melhor com as pranchas menores, pois dariam maior velocidade e manobrabilidade!!
