Can we talk about the fact that JT stuck one inside a foot, immediately dropped another ball, and managed to get closer? Perfect example of why these guys are pros!

Well they are the best players in the world with a pitching wedge so it is pretty bad for them; especially after they've hit the same shot like 20 times
Love these hole in one with 50 shots videos. It really exposes the almost unreasonable confidence pros have. They expect to make it and the ultra competitive nature pulls out the frustration as well.
It's interesting how they seem to attribute their lack of success to something lacking in their own skill rather than it simply being a rare event (1 in 2,500) that will be difficult to achieve. The frustration seems to set in very early considering they've only hit 50 balls.
@@hughgurney8686 well that's exactly how the brain works. If you set too difficult a goal it will become very frustrating which is why it's wise to take small steps. These are however pros and they have about the best chances to make this happen given 50 shots, but the exact same thing happens to them - they hit a lot of amazing shots they'd love to do in a tournament, but here they don't get that endorphin response because even though they were amazing, they were also failures at their goal.
So well made that the production team forgot about the Rolex clock in the background. The original video was significantly cut up, edited and mixed in order to make it a more hyped up and entertaining video.
@@da2552 I get it but a joke like that should hit home, and I'm pointing out why it doesn't for me; I've never thought I should go pro for hitting a green. I get he wasn't being literal, I'm more explaining why the joke missed for me.
What a great vid, really enjoyed it and its great to see Justin and Rory enjoying themselves! Just for the record, I've had one hole-in-one, 158yd uphill par 3. Horrible contact, lost it with the sun in my eyes...looked everywhere else then thought "I'll just check the hole" - it was in there!!! I was playing on my own and not one of my golf buddies will ever believe me. But I know... ball is on a plinth in my room 😅👍
Looked like he knocked it down. Unless there is a backstop, a knockdown shot with a ball that doesn't spin very much so it will gently roll out might be the best bet.
I'm approx a 12 handicap but had one freak round in 2005 where I had birdie, tap-in eagle, bogey, birdie, birdie, and 🕳hole-in-one (200yd 5 iron cut) in a 6 hole stretch. The bogey was a 3 putt from 8 feet😱. Never even came close to that day again. Was a gift from above.😁
JT “ooh he’s on to something folks, what did he do differently?” Rory “I don’t know .. *goes dead straight, perfect flight*” Pros are so annoyingly good lol
I think The Match has shown we could use more varied and casual golf entertainment. The only thing holding it back is that the focus still is on competitiveness and fund raising which is fine, but I like the heart-to-heart, hearing players and celebrities discussing golf as life lessons, things like this that there's rarely any opportunity for. Like a podcast where a round of golf breaks out.
Starts of with a powerful positive statement " only get 1 first shot to get a hole in one" then goes to self-hatred "Not even close... I'm yelling at a ball that's 20ft short." - Golf is the biggest rollercoaster ride of mental frustration and strength. Prove me wrong.
Rory said he hasn't made a hole in one in six years. That's wrong. I personally witnessed him make a hole in one five years ago. It was in a practice round for the 2016 Masters. Hole 16 at Augusta and I was in the bleachers. The pin was cut in the front middle of the green. Rory hit it about 10 feet past the hole and used the slope to bring it back down. As the ball began to trickle down and got closer and closer the murmers of the crowd grew and grew. Thinking about being smack in the middle of those roars when that ball dropped still gives me chills to this day.
This video is a testament to just how difficult the game of golf is. It seems so simple, hit it in the hole, but it is in my opinion one of the hardest things in sports
The thing I did learn from this is that I am much more patient to practice every day and do nothing spectacular and not get frustrated because I’m committed to improving. Might it be that these guys refusal to except mediocrity is what pushes them to be two of the best players in the world. I mean seriouslyI found myself questioning there manhood. After thinking about it for a minute that might be what separates the winners from the losers they only except winning. Watch this over and watch the attitude it doesn’t seem practical but in the bigger scope of things maybe that’s how they pushed so far forward so quickly. Thanks for the video very telling
I watched my dad shank a 6 iron on a 146 yard par 3, on Father’s Day, to within a 1/2 inch on the hole. One of the best rounds of golf ever. These boys casually launching choked down PWs that far...always rooting for these 2.
My first few months golfing I put one in from 140.. never even gotten close to that again even with all the improvements in my game. Sometimes the stars align for us mere mortals.
