Marti's comments concerned me. It his job to select and set up the team, dictate the strategy, change the setup according to game events. To say it's totally up to the players is bewildering.
Thanks guys. Appreciate all the insight. I have to believe that any young man that is able to reach the Championship level has to be highly self-motivated. I think if players are recruited based on data, that's OK. But....The manager must have the ability to boost and sustain the motivation. The manager must have the skill to place them in a position that best optimizes their individual strengths while they're contributing to the success of the whole team.
I've supported the HOOPS since 74 and we always had good goalscorers. I was commenting on here over two years ago and the same problem we had then is still the same problem now.. A. Proper goalscorer or two. Even if we conceed we have to have the potential to score but it's like we're one down and we are chasing it two down game over.. I remember a few years back Cardiff had this problem and went and got a bunch of strikers, all ended up competing and I think they shot up the league and got promoted but until we get the goalscorers sorted this could be 3 strikes at the bottom and we are out.
I'm afraid other championship managers have sussed out how Marti sets his team out. He hasn't really changed his tactics to get the most of what is clearly , low quality players, some clearly not at championship level. I fear for this season.
I miss the energy and passion Armstrong showed. We need that kind of impact sub that just brings electricity to the team. It is not the results but the way we play. It is not all about stats but leaders on the field.
I'm sure that recruitment is a team decision. Belk provides the data, Cifuentes vetoes, but Nourry has to deal with finances. Marti then hasxto work with what he's got. Not helped.missing JCS, Fox, Colback and Chair.
Gallen speaks a lot of sense. Ex players tend to have a good idea of what you need to look for when signing a player. Data is just that, data. It can't tell you what guts, drive, want to win, desire, heart a player has. It doesn't tell you that you can have all the ability but isn't interested in helping out his teammates who are under the cosh. It won't tell you who you cab rely on in a battle away from home. The manager should be the one who signs off on any player that comes in and out of a club. Not a 26 year old who speaks like a 50 year old ex Eton schoolboy. It's called footballing nous. Nourry is learning on the hoof. Same way as les did. Look how that turned out. Don't make the same mistake Rangers.
Good points Kev, we couldn't agree a deal with Sincs or Willock , bad signals in term of retention but gambling on stats ...I've been less then impressed with the young CEO and strange Nathan Jones style send offs to ex players who I perfer where still there
Good to see Kevin back, talks so much sense
Thank you gents, good to see you back.

Good to have a non biased view back. Let’s face it,Nourry is totally out of his depth….
Glad to see you gents back
Can we get Kevin in a recruiting role. loves the club and understands the league.
where you been??...missed you guys

My equilibrium has returned. Welcome back!
Colback is a red card waiting to happen
We need a striker
it needs to be said again , Gallen was a bloody good forward for us !

Think if we are all honest with ourselves. No the players cannot play the way the manager wants them to
yes lads we're back

We had a better squad last year compared to this season......which says it all
I thought WLS wasn't following QPR anymore?!
Nourry out Gallen In!
Give the ball away at the back like we've been doing is not going to win anything. Marti is already blaming the players.
celar is a flop, plays with zero intelligence
