  • Season 2 of 'Undone' breaks the mold when it comes to storytelling. At South by Southwest Film Festival Den of Geek spoke with stars Rosa Salazar, Angelique Cabral, Constance Marie , as well as showrunner Kate Purdy and director Hisko Hulsings about what to expect in the new season. The upbeat troupe also talked about how their filming techniques were barely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    Such an underrated show. Once I saw the notification that season 2 was on, I binged and rewatched season 1 before watching season 2.

    Promote the show Amazon! What are you doing? It's amazing. Found season one by accident, and have seen hardly no press about it

      I looked up yesterday whether the release date had been announced, only to find out the whole second season had been published on April 22nd. This really surprised me because I would almost have sworn that I had checked at some point after that date. After all, I probably never went more than two or three months without checking for the past year and a half or so. (I always checked on Wikipedia, and sometimes exclusively so. I need to look up when the Wikipedia article first mentioned anything specific about season two.)
      Edit: April 29th, not April 22nd.

    Actually the first rotoscoped show is Delta State and it is very good and also has people with abilities that go to other worlds

    Season 2 was good but the ending was a real downer. That last scene was a bummer.

      @jchaps1 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah. It wasn't real. Just her way of processing her father's loss. It's a bummer because the show has an indigenous cultures theme and the ending basically dismissed all that. And said, yeah it was mental illness and none of her powers were real. But the mental "illness" wasn't a waste. Something was gained and learned from that suffering.

      @@jchaps1 or was it real? Maybe it was. What I took away from it is you run away from your problems. You have to deal with loss and grief and you can't try to fix and undo it. I think the show walks the line of asking if she's just crazy or if there's more to it. For me I think it happened. But her arc requires her to fix the reality she chose to ignore. And the only way to fix it is to be present in it.

      @@jchaps1 I think it was ambiguous

      @@jchaps1 I don't think that's the case, the ending is deliberately ambiguous, like in the first season. Alma may have had a very long hallucination, or she may have actually visited an alternate timeline, in both cases this experience helped her come to terms with her father's death and understand of the emotional bonds between people.

      if you want a happy ending, STOP at episode 7.
      episode 8 (the finale), especially the last scene, brought everything back to reality. and the reality is that family issues always never get resolved as tidy as it did in episode 7.
      the series has shown that family issues go back generations. and trying to fix it DOES take superhuman powers, which is unrealistic.

      They said they filmed it with a very small number of people on set. That makes it easy to ensure that everyone involved can be tested beforehand, which drops the risk down to pretty much zero. Testing for Covid is remarkably easy to do, so they probably did.
