I freakin love dancer when I get all the procs it is a dopamine factory .. but sometimes when you stuck in the 1-2-1-2-1-2 it feels absolutely miserable
Okay good, so the DPS output really IS lower compared to ShB, I was worried that I was doing something wrong to where I was suddenly battling it out for 7th place on the aggro table in everything now.
Ive noticed that even the tanks damage isn’t far behind and if you mess up even a little they can beat you in damage output which is just sad to see as a dps
Mained DNC back in ShB and the "boring filler phase" has always been the worst part of it for me, tbh. At the same time, I feel sorta... OK... with DNC? It's a very comfortable job, easy to pick up, and en avant is quite fun to use. I just wish there was... Idk, *more* to it.
What if they added a 60s dance? Standard Step is 30s recast, Technical is 120s. I feel like a 60s to go with Flourish's own 60s cd could help make it more interesting. The only thing would be fitting it in technical window / Standard step drift.

I believe the hot on Improv is just a snapshot. Keeps ticking outside of channeling. Which, even if a small tick, it's still 500 potency of healing for free and as a healer main I enjoy that as much as I enjoy curing waltz.
Dancer is amazingly comfortable and is the polar opposite from Bard in terms of flexibility. But yeah, buffs pls. It needs it BADLY. As of today, there's no reason to not take a Bard in prog.
Worth mentioning that Improv's Regen ticks for its full duration regardless of whether or not you channel it, so it can be super helpful to just weave in to recover from raidwides. It's still a LOW tick, but you can use it a lot more than you'd think
Tillana gives you standard finish which is useless since you always have it on you already anyway so all it does is reset the cooldown of a buff that, if you play well, will never goes away. I wish it gave maybe a new buff that might help with its dps instead
I do like how they changed Flourish; at first I thought I wouldn't. Having two less procs didn't sound good on paper but once you get the new abilities procing off Devilment and Technical Step it fills it all in rather nicely without restricting you to dashing in and out to use aoes when there was really no reason to other than the potential Fan Dance proc.
Literally my exact same thought process, I thought I'd hate it but realized that we lost 2 procs but got 2 procs plus an additional Saber Dancer that took a page out of WAR and MCH with the guaranteed Direct Crit and I love it. The only thing I'd nitpick about is the new Improvisation now having 0 synergy with Curing Waltz and the lengthy countdown, but overall it's great. (Still at the beginning of the video xP )
@@Sev3nn20 the new procs also have a bit more skill needed. One is a line and the other is a cone. Both can be used equally well in single target or AOE with proper positioning.
I find it for some reason the best job I have leveled up so far. It is also my main but that’s besides the point. Machinist feels weird, hard feels bad because purple song now is the weakest. Summoner is now super boring. I have fun with some healers so far I have ast and scholar which I think are doing pretty good themselves. However ast’s astrodyne and minor arcana feel out of place to me. Scholar just feels the same just with a lower cast time. But yeah so far those are my thoughts on those specific jobs
@@TheGrandRevo It's great for beginners or people getting used to how raiding is different than other MMOs. For me, I get crazy bad social anxiety, which can make it difficult to even think straight sometimes, so it's something I can still play when playing with new people.
I wonder if dancer being loaded with buffs, mitigation, and mobility is the tax to how weak it is… it’s curious since it’s so fun that it doesn’t bother me.
It could be, and honestly probably should be. Easier to play jobs should perform weaker than those that require a lot of skill, but I still think Dancer is a bit weaker than it should be. If any job "deserves" to be bottom dps it would be dancer, but only in the sense that there has to be a bottom
it's still too weak, especially if you compare it with bard or even red mage the latter having crazy utility with the raid buffs, the instant rez and still doing decent damage. It's like you need to play perfectly to beat a tank in damage
Buffs or no buffs, every job does its damage either personally or via giving damage to other party members. It doesn't matter how it's done. Dancer NEEDS to do more damage than it currently does. Reaper is more mobile than dancer and doubles its healing while being the top dps in the game, so this whole tax idea is absurd and needs to be thrown out of the discussion. Squeenix needs to make all roles do comparable damage if for no other reason so the fourth DPS slot in your static doesn't auto default to whichever role (melee) usually tops the meters.
Was a dancer main. Played it in Pandemonium and both Extreme trials. Low damage doesn't begin to describe it lol Hopped on my MUCH LESS geared Summoner, and blew my Dancer damage out of the water. Realllllyyyy hoping they get buffed
@@ErkalEtruria Eyo speak for yourself I main Dancer, dont care about DMG as much as having having a fun Gameplay loop. Of course dealing big deeps is fun in itself, so a buff would be nice :)
Dancer rDPS isn't terrible if you DP correct player and try your hardest at high parses my 93 EX2 parse was 6.3k rdps, the BLM with a 99 parse that same run was 8.something k. So rdps which counts your buffs bonus to the team it's quite good.
I like playing Dancer when I want to relax and level with friends leveling their alt jobs. You can relax, hit a few buttons & dash around a room not getting hit by anything.
Have to agree here. Dnc used to hold it's own damage wise prior to endwalker compared to other ranged DPS, but now it does fall noticeably behind. When played well in Shadowbringer you didn't just support your party, you also did your share of damage to keep up. In endwalker, it doesn't matter how well you play the job, you will fall behind by a fairly big gap. I feel this happened due to SE undertuning the potency of their attacks too much. While they did this to various jobs, none seem to suffer from it as much as dnc did. Standard attacks dropped almost 60~160 potency in some cases for general rotation and upwards of 280/450 for burst damage abilities.
I legit wanted to change from Bard to Dancer because of how much I hate the Mage's Ballad nerf, but I'll wait and see how balancing is gonna work because Bard feels pretty strong right now
Would a simple solution such as guaranteed 1-2-3 combo and feather (4th attack can still be rng) be a good buff to DNC’s damage? You can still stock feathers for burst windows but also allows you to use them more frequently spicing up the gameplay with more ogcd’s because let’s face it you’re not doing a whole lot for 30-120 seconds anyway
I'm seeing dancers typically parsing on par or even lower than Dark Knights and Gunbreakers. Might be some bad dancers and good tanks, but even still. Thats a big yikes. I can't remember ever seeing a dps parsing lower than a tank with equivalent gear before. No deaths, mind. Even with a massive skill disparity the job just isn't so complicated that you can fail it that hard. Even if your playstyle is to just use everything on cooldown and mash the buttons that light up, that should still put them ahead of the tanks...
Dancer's personal dps is comfortably ahead of the tanks, and what you see on ACT doesn't account for raid dps, which dancer gains a lot of compared to most jobs. That all being said, dancer could get like a 5% rDPS buff and still be on the weaker side. Here's hoping squeenix makes good choices tomorrow and doesn't just let reaper continue to shit on everybody.
I enjoyed the job in Shadowbringers, but I wanted to love it more. I had to play it in short bursts because I just got tired and bored of it so fast. I don’t know what it was, but now in Endwalker the job feels so much more fun to play, and I’m actually enjoying it a lot more than bard, which was one of my favorites in ShB.
@valriot they are taking about outside the 2 min window. We net lost 2 gcds for our 1 min Flourish and gained an ogcd. And how are you overcapping on feathers? Are you only spending them during tech window?
My concern with buffing DNC is the thing I specifically like about it is how much of a good support job it is. I love support jobs, ones that may be physically weaker but bring so much support and utility to the table and those kinds of jobs do tend to be a bit lower on the DPS. If they did buff DNC I’d be worried it would be at the expense of some of our support and utility because being able to benefit the party that much and put out decent damage at the same time might be too OP and I’d personally take the support over damage any day. There are plenty of jobs with mad deeps but so few support jobs on the level of DNC.
Or they could buff their personal dps so that their total raid dps (counting the damage gained through your buffs on others) is on par with other classes. There's no reason their total raid dps should be in the gutter, that just makes it a completely unnecessary job to bring to a raid. Because lets be honest, you're not going to drop a better dps job to get curing waltz and shield samba.
i don't think that the support aspect of DNC is good enough that it should outweight their dps, especially if you compare it with Red mage that has better support and still does decent damage
If they're gonna share procs for the base combo skills, then they should probably also let you share combo for the base skills as well, so that you can move from single target to AoE or vice versa. I wouldn't say that Dancer is more versatile for buff windows, it's just different. With Bard you can still do 45/45/45 songs instead of cutting 15 seconds off mage to delay it by some amount, but with Dancer you also have different problems like having to either accept the drift on the 60 second Flourish or overwrite procs, both of which feels bad xD And yeah agree hard, I sleep every time there isn't burst. I also never had to use more than two dashes in 60 seconds so, fine, if you want it, sure, but why does the third dash occupy a slot that other jobs get significant damage ups and more interesting abilities at XD
I think if they changed improv to have a front loaded burst heal followed by a smaller hot and kept the shield the same I would like it more. Alternatively, what if it generated fan dances? Everything else works as it should for me so I like what it has, but the potencies could use tweaking.
I havent touched it since 5.x Use controller, and each hotbar allows 18 actions, I already had 2 hotbars worth of them and adding new actions is to use 3rd hotbar for them. I dont have the muscle memory for that, dumb reason i know lol. Wish when using new actions they just turn then old ones that allow use of them into new ones like "salt of earth" button changes into " salt and darkness" right away.
I wonder if perhaps there could be something like a “moving buff” or something where your damage increases when you’re outside of the burst phase…..maybe finishing technical steps removes the buff or something like that. If you don’t get the procs outside of the window it feels so slow but otherwise I love the job and it’s quite fun at times 🤷🏻♂️
My suggestion would be to remake improvisation... Making it into a "NIN: mudra" style ability on a shorter cooldown, then have multiple combinations with different support moves. For example: Green -> Blue -> Green = Succor style effect. Yellow -> Red -> Yellow = Buffs you and your dance partner with damage and move speed Green -> Yellow -> Green = A HoT + Speed buff for whole party. Red -> Yellow -> Red = Grant you 50 Esprit and 2 Feathers(Mostly for solo purposes or when alas, your dance partner is dead, very sad that). Upon activation you do dmg(as other step combos) and gain a stack of Rising Rhythm, aswell as the effect of the improvised dance. Once you got three stacks of Rising Rhythm, Improvisation turn into Allente(Ability), which is a 2nd Technical step buffing everyone with Esprit and dmg buff as usuall. Simply put you get more options as a buffer, gaining some dps in the progress aswell as removing a "mostly" dead ability. It will however mean we will have to dance more, which will affect the number of possible procs. but I'm fairly sure the devs can manage those things.
@@HenshinFanatic Yeah I think it would be great, however figuring out "stepjutsus" would probably be better left up to the class developers then me... I just think it would both be "unique" for Dancer and It's a buff to their utility more so then DPS. I mean DPS is nice and all and a neccesity for Savage, Extreme and Ultimate content... But in DNC's current state you are better off just bringing a BRD, even on the merits of the buffs alone. Sure DNC is slightly stronger as a single target buffer, but BRD ain't far behind as far as a single target is concerned and miles ahead when we count buffs to the whole party... while at the same time being about 750-1.5k dps ahead. BRD ain't even that far behind in AoE damage, even outside of Mage's Ballad.
You neglected to mention, popping improv twice between GCD's will clip most people because ping exists. HOWEVER for those that want to use it with no downtime if you activate improv with 0.5ish secs left on your GCD-CD Then hit the GCD Most of the time you can proc the finish AFTER the GCD. Also SCREW personal DPS .... Give me better party increases. Imho it actually adds to the DNC individuality. The other 2 ranged are like "AHHHHH MUST DO BEST DAMAGE AND ALIGN" whereas DNC feels great as a "I hope I help everyone else do good". So with this in mind, 1. give me another +5% on just tech Or give tillana a seperate +5% party buff! 2. Move fan dance 4 to devilment and Starfall to flourish (since its guaranteed DHit Crit why is devilment needed? such redundancy) and i'm happy :')
I dont know about you, but I honestly dont feel the filler phase because I try my hardest to perform the best animations with the movement I got, Its an extra minigame for me and its actually really fun with the right glamour!
I do basically agree, though I'm not bothered by the "boring filler". Improv though does need something different. I'd rather have like 10 guaranteed espirit in comparison to the shield. Will still be maining for savage, it's too much fun to play, even if we can't get 250k crit direct hit quadruple technical finishes now.
I'll miss the dopamine hits of getting that juicy direct crit Technical. But overall I agree with you as well, the filler is boring, but I feel that's thematically the point, you do your big dance flourish, then the rest of hour routine is standard until you hit the big point again. Being a ranged dps main, DNC is the most boring, but I feel that isn't a detriment overall
same problem as hw MCH boring as ffuck outside of your "press everything"phase. 1 2 and sometimes 3 and 4. and if youre super unlucky 1 2 until buffs are back. and the real sin of this job is how low 1 and 2 are. or how low fan dance is when you compare it to thinks like ninja or samurais OGCDs overall youre right if your party is super terrible. you feel terrible because you could have just been something that would contribute more by itself. and with FF14 players a pretty large majority of them even at max level still just dont put any effort into their rotations. so unless youre in premades BUILT around dancer you will feel awful because theyre not utaliziing your windows
An Evant is the best. I love DNC because of it. I still enjoy playing it, even if it's not got the best personal DPS. I just...love it so much. Reaper is coming in at a decent 2nd tho.
Rng is stupid, what happens , does he drop his chakram or does a caster mess up a spell if he stutters lol , can't remember tank's having rng. Would rather have procs connected to crit over random chance.
Was a dancer main since the beginning and still am! The con of the main rotation (1-2-1-2) being boring is not really a con to me as I enjoy how simple it is. Every 2 minutes everything goes crazy and then it goes back to slow gameplay again. I actually really love it! Also I normally want to main supports in games but always go back to dps. So it being a damage-y support is so perfect. Also I love it's aesthetic and class fantasy. Sure I wouldn't mind damage buffs, but the class itself is so perfect for me!
Yep, same. The pace is why I liked ninja in ShB too. I enjoy the flow of super busy burst phase followed by relaxed filler phase. And dancer support utility feels even better this expansion with the improv changes.
@@mightylotan I use my single target spells as 1-2-3-4 and my aoe spells as shift + 1-2-3-4. FD1 I have on Q, FD2 I have on Shift + Q and FD3 I have on E and Shift + E. Works pretty well for me as I never have to let go of shift in aoe situations and in single target I just need 1-2-3-4-Q-E :D
Dancer is the perfect "Callouts job". Tanks are kinda in their own world, healers have to juggle on everybody standing in bad, and most DPS have to focus on their rotation (and movement restriction for melees and black mage). Dancer has some decent way to protect themselves, En Avant lets you compensate the additional bit of brain lag time. Most things to press are shiny so you don't need to focus too much. And your buffs are good enough you can just call out the burst window for everyone by whenever it lines up with your technical step.
As a long time DNC main (right before 5.1 an onward), I've found that the 1-2-1-2-1-3 so on rotation feels pretty smooth. Of course it's gonna be pretty basic, especially compared to other jobs, but since I'm having to keep an eye on the hotbars, it feels like I'm just as active from watching that AND the fight going on. But I do really agree that it needs a damage buff. The fact that BRD now gives much better buffs plus decent damage makes it so the only thing that DNC really had over BRD in the long run isn't as prominent anymore, and even in solo fights it really shows. When I'm playing DNC, my biggest damaging moves are the steps and everything else is pretty much a build up, so I tend to mostly do so little on my own, but BRD has constant procs and big damage actions on oGCD so it still feels really strong in solo
Just make procs 75%...RDM is 50% too and that shit pops like 80% more..or maybe something like acceleration that'll give you auto proc..or I guess it's just pvp en avant lol
Feel like they could give something like Tillana as a follow up for Standard step. I love dancer, but it just feels very underperforming, especially in dungeons. Also, Starfall dance could be on it's own CD. Being tied to Devilment, which is a crit buff on it's own feels kinda stupid. Not to mention, its bit meh in dungeons again. Starfall dance is at it's best in trash pulls, being AoE, while Devilment feels like more needed in bosses.
If you're an older player like me and your reflexes ain't what they used to be, en avant will save your ass in the EW insane boss aoes that you see even in normal duties.
first of all - improvisation is still trash....why do we have a lv 80 skill that does literally nothing???? why am i forced to stand still for 10+ seconds in order for a 10% barrier? he doesn get a dps upgrade on lv 80 wich is ok....but replacing it with trash (trash since shadowbringers and still trash after being changed) - just make it a god damn insta cast at the 2 minute cooldown to make it useful and give him the utility to mitigate more dmg and amybe lock him into an fancy animation for 3 seconds thatll be totally fine - in most fights you can never ever use it unless you give up many seconds of dps making it a complete niche skill while other dps get big shiny eyes by looking at theirs...or change it to something like "give your dance partner a 5/7/9/11% dex/str/mind/int increase for 15 seconds while using up all of your current feathers - % changes with used up feathers at the time when casting the skill" on 2 minute cd...boom it became useful
literally absolutely shocked they did NOT buff dancer today w the 6.0.5 patch lol it feels sooooooo bad the dmg is so insanely low, at lvl 80 rn they are unable to 1 shot lvl 50 mobs in dungeons with the 300% dmg buff WITH tech dance which is like.... their biggest attack lol, feels sooooooo unsatisfying compared to other jobs/how it worked previously :(
Dnc curing waltz is still under powered. It needs a buff to recast, maybe 25s recast. It doesn't do alot and most of the time you use it your partner is by themselves or using it just to get hit with an attack that makes your heals useless.
Playing DNC just feels like a thankless job, every time I enter an instanced dungeon I feel like a liability because I know that a dedicated DPS class will leave me in the dust, even if the person isn't playing optimally. I disagree with people saying it's boring, most jobs are once you get the rotation down, it's not like everyone is out there playing a BLM with a 20 button rotation without missing a beat.
Since when do dungeons care about damage output? You can use your aoes and still clear a dungeon, hell you can observe and still clear it. Never once have I cared about numbers in there
@@TheGrandRevo Usually nobody gives a shit as long as you get through it without dying. My point was that you as the dancer player feel weak, it isn't as noticeable in a raid environment, but in a 4man party it really shows if someone is slacking off or not performing as well as another class.
@@dantilan Very much agree. And as someone who mostly does dungeons, I really feel you. It was a problem in Shadowbringers already. I want to play dancer, but just end up feeling more like liability. Not to mention Technical step just feels extremely weak in dungeons. Of course no one cares as long as you get through the dungeon, but you still kinda want to feel useful.
You're almost pronouncing "En avant" right. In French, we rarely, like, VERY rarely pronounce the last consonant of a word. So say it exactly like you do, without the "t" at the end. That's it ;) Hope it helps
Improvisation is now useless ( healing does nothing, shield duration too short ) They took away our AoE buttons in Flourish and just gave us hotbar bloat instead Class is incredibly boring to play when out of burst window Also class is just..bad, numbers wise. BRD much higher overall dps benefit. No reason to bring DNC outside of very specific circumstances. It's bad.
You bring DNC to groups for Tech Step, that buff is pretty essential for any speed clears/damage checks, alongside the extra healing it brings to assist healers, the only one who isn't taken is MCH as it's damage isn't high enough to skip BRD and DNC Edit: spellcheck
I don't know why, but I felt MCH was weaker compared to DNC. I feel trash melt much faster as a Dancer, though I guess it equals out because it's only on the first pull. Sustain on DNC felt a lot more feasible than MCH. I wouldn't mind getting potency buffs, but overall, I think it's still my go-to DPS.
personally I feel its would just need a damage buff to mitigate its reliance on RNG but other than that its fine (TO ME, yes im aware this doesnt apply to everyone)
DNC was the most appealing Job for me as when I started with ff14 but if you have terrible RNG it feels sluggish with your regular 1 2 until something Procs. On the contrary it I love the DNC in the PvP roulette a lot and I play it 90% of the time, no procc dependency and if it weren't for the simplified one button smash a nice 1-2-3-4 combo with a feather every 2 GCD the job feels so much more alive and I do enjoy it a lot more because I have a lot more oGCD actions to hit while waiting for the GCD turn come back. I know the DNC is build for the RNG and without it could be too strong very quickly
Yes. if the party doesn't use the buff's it sucks. If your stuck with a sub optimal dance partner it sucks. I agree the dps on it feels a little lacking. I know we bring great utility, but if that utility is being used.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think a base potency buff is what's needed. The filler phase is long and boring, but eh i don't notice it that much when dodging aoe.
I I mean I understand they having the lowest Dps but they bring great rdps to the team back then , but now, bard has the most rdps so ppl would just prefer bard more for prog/clears , sigh , would dancer would get buff tho
Dancer feels so good to play now, it really just needs a damage buff. I just really want Starfall and fandance4 to replace the skills that proc them like all the others instead of being separate buttons.
Starfall is really underpowered. A lvl 90 skill that is only 600 potency with 70% fall off is just sad. Even with the devilment buff it's nothing special.
@@holmesholmes.8784 So does other abilities like MCH drill and Air anchor with Reassemble. Dancer is brought for buffs and thats all they are and honestly as it stand id rather have a bard.
@@pontuslundgren2038 I mean it's not as bad as SMN that's expected to do more than it does, a lot of jobs are lacking from what they're suppose to do like BLM and SAM so not many jobs are up to what they're supposed to be.
It is my least favorite class to play synced down now. At 86+ the burst is busy enough to feel fun, but below that it's soooo slow. It sucks they cut flourish's charges in half since that simplified things even more.
The franchise desprerlly needs updates. a good start would be too add chat bubbles, good Arena map, making the combat at least hybrid action by adding skillshots and less animation locks and innovations like ability to tame open world monsters as your mount or open world raid bosses where players fight the boss and other players at once
No offense to anyone playing it, but I just can't stomach dancer. I heard people say it was simple, but I figured it'd pick up some at 90. Nope. It's *so* boring. You're doing nothing, having to think about nothing, for 90% of the fight. I would argue even during your burst window you hardly have to think, you just get more buttons to press for 15s and then it's back to snooze-ville. Happy for people that like it but I honestly don't get why anyone would want to play such a dull class when there are so many other really well designed and fun classes in the game.
DNC always seems like a lackluster job that only appealed to the most lazy people, I suppose the game must need a afk job but then MCH and SMN play the same way. Boring and uneventful

This is why nobody plays or let alone mains Dancer.
@@ErkalEtruria I-I main dancer...
@@crazyclaybob yeah this^
I like playing Dancer when I want to relax and level with friends leveling their alt jobs. You can relax, hit a few buttons & dash around a room not getting hit by anything.
Ayyy my new main job. Been having a BLAST playing Dancer.
In ShB, DNC was feast or famine. In EW, as of 6.01, it is "OK or terrible"
Standard attacks dropped almost 60~160 potency in some cases for general rotation and upwards of 280/450 for burst damage abilities.
ninja, sam and pld suffer the same thing, they need to do their math again, properly this time
I thought I was doing something wrong lol !! And dancer no longer has the best rdps now, bard has “reclaimed” it
I legit wanted to change from Bard to Dancer because of how much I hate the Mage's Ballad nerf, but I'll wait and see how balancing is gonna work because Bard feels pretty strong right now
I still don’t understand how they thought to make tillana share a button with technical step but didn’t with fan dance 4 or starfall
Is the only way to use fan dance IV is if you use Flourish first ?
I enjoyed the job in Shadowbringers, but I wanted to love it more. I had to play it in short bursts because I just got tired and bored of it so fast. I don’t know what it was, but now in Endwalker the job feels so much more fun to play, and I’m actually enjoying it a lot more than bard, which was one of my favorites in ShB.
Hopefully they’ll be adjusted in 6.1
Amazing dancer changes! Dancer got three abilities changed and it turns into a potency buff for reapers and monks! Great job squeenix team :] /s
I legit hate the removal of the aoe skills from the st burst. It felt complete using all your skills even in st. I'm not a fan at all of the changes.
Agreed. But with the new skills it somehow feels even more busy during tech step.
@@mirajviras That's the part literally nobody wanted. More stuff to do during the main period, not more in the all-too brief tech window.
I like this change the most, felt clunky having to aoe on st...
@valriot they are taking about outside the 2 min window. We net lost 2 gcds for our 1 min Flourish and gained an ogcd. And how are you overcapping on feathers? Are you only spending them during tech window?
@@elracraft I found that it made the class unique and gave it an extra layer to strategizing with the class.
With Bard you can still do 45/45/45 songs instead of cutting 15 seconds off mage to delay it by some amount, but with Dancer you also have different problems like having to either accept the drift on the 60 second Flourish or overwrite procs, both of which feels bad xD
And yeah agree hard, I sleep every time there isn't burst.
I also never had to use more than two dashes in 60 seconds so, fine, if you want it, sure, but why does the third dash occupy a slot that other jobs get significant damage ups and more interesting abilities at XD
I actually did for the first time today lmao had to dash all the way across the stage to moon safe spot
I think if they changed improv to have a front loaded burst heal followed by a smaller hot and kept the shield the same I would like it more. Alternatively, what if it generated fan dances? Everything else works as it should for me so I like what it has, but the potencies could use tweaking.
Nice video. Hoping to watch more on thoughts for other jobs.
I havent touched it since 5.x
Use controller, and each hotbar allows 18 actions, I already had 2 hotbars worth of them and adding new actions is to use 3rd hotbar for them. I dont have the muscle memory for that, dumb reason i know lol. Wish when using new actions they just turn then old ones that allow use of them into new ones like "salt of earth" button changes into " salt and darkness" right away.
dancer is my main for high end content right now so hoping the buff it soon.
Yeah that would be nice.
one thing i would say is dancer is amazing for controller players its it almost seems like it was made for it.
I said this exact thing in a conversation earlier tonight. It feels perfect on the controller. Reaper also feels great.
For example:
Green -> Blue -> Green = Succor style effect.
Yellow -> Red -> Yellow = Buffs you and your dance partner with damage and move speed
Green -> Yellow -> Green = A HoT + Speed buff for whole party.
Actually, making DNC the Ranged counterpart to the Melee NIN, isn't a bad idea.
I just want a way to use fan dance 4 outside of flourish. Also, raise both buffs to 10% please.
Anybody else feel like SCH got DNC's level 90 ability?
Real talk; I will probably try and level this again, after I get done having fun with MCH.
same problem as hw MCH boring as ffuck outside of your "press everything"phase.
Agreed, even it’s main phase of “pressing everything” losses it’s charm
An Evant is the best. I love DNC because of it. I still enjoy playing it, even if it's not got the best personal DPS. I just...love it so much. Reaper is coming in at a decent 2nd tho.
Love the thumbnail!
An Evante = Boot scoot boogie when i use it.
How do you handle switching from dingle target to AOE? Have them on different bars and then switch bars?
50% proc off almost every attack is a con for some like me, glad you like it though
@@Nodnarb59 Yea... I'm kinda weird with that, lol. I am probably one of the most unlucky humans on this planet, yet I still love luck based things :'D
It's pure famine now lol not feast or famine. There's no way the buffs it gives compensate at all.
DNC is so strong in PVP, it's like a ranged samurai, chop people up from like 10 yalms away
Waiting for the Ninja job thoughts lol
"69 gauge, and it wasn't nice"
funny man
first of all - improvisation is still trash....why do we have a lv 80 skill that does literally nothing???? why am i forced to stand still for 10+ seconds in order for a 10% barrier? he doesn get a dps upgrade on lv 80 wich is ok....but replacing it with trash (trash since shadowbringers and still trash after being changed) - just make it a god damn insta cast at the 2 minute cooldown to make it useful and give him the utility to mitigate more dmg and amybe lock him into an fancy animation for 3 seconds thatll be totally fine - in most fights you can never ever use it unless you give up many seconds of dps making it a complete niche skill while other dps get big shiny eyes by looking at theirs...or change it to something like "give your dance partner a 5/7/9/11% dex/str/mind/int increase for 15 seconds while using up all of your current feathers - % changes with used up feathers at the time when casting the skill" on 2 minute cd...boom it became useful
GIB SABER DANCE A BLEED DOT YOSHI P PLEASEEEEEEE and a nice potency buff to DNC overall
Damm with the Summoner in the Video 🙄
literally absolutely shocked they did NOT buff dancer today w the 6.0.5 patch lol it feels sooooooo bad the dmg is so insanely low, at lvl 80 rn they are unable to 1 shot lvl 50 mobs in dungeons with the 300% dmg buff WITH tech dance which is like.... their biggest attack lol, feels sooooooo unsatisfying compared to other jobs/how it worked previously :(
Dnc curing waltz is still under powered.
It needs a buff to recast, maybe 25s recast.
It doesn't do alot and most of the time you use it your partner is by themselves or using it just to get hit with an attack that makes your heals useless.
As a dancer main, makes me kinda sad. But not too sad cause I don't raid so it's meh.
Ya know, i cannot get into dnc... idk why i just can't get behind the concept for some reason....
Good video
You're almost pronouncing "En avant" right. In French, we rarely, like, VERY rarely pronounce the last consonant of a word. So say it exactly like you do, without the "t" at the end. That's it ;) Hope it helps
I really do wince when I see DNC struggling to out dps Tanks
😖 yeah... same...
Yes... they buffed dancer today.. don't go look at the patch notes! :(
Dancer in 5 secs. In it's current state, it's trash. Saved you from watching an 8 min video. Come back when the next patch drops.
Improvisation is now useless ( healing does nothing, shield duration too short )
They took away our AoE buttons in Flourish and just gave us hotbar bloat instead
Class is incredibly boring to play when out of burst window
Also class is just..bad, numbers wise. BRD much higher overall dps benefit. No reason to bring DNC outside of very specific circumstances.
It's bad.
You bring DNC to groups for Tech Step, that buff is pretty essential for any speed clears/damage checks, alongside the extra healing it brings to assist healers, the only one who isn't taken is MCH as it's damage isn't high enough to skip BRD and DNC
Edit: spellcheck
I had to look up imp since I thought it fills the bar and it did, don't get wtf they removed that.
My gf plays the hell out of dancer and she thinks the class is just a grand time
I don't know why, but I felt MCH was weaker compared to DNC.
Coin flip simulator 3.0
Yes. if the party doesn't use the buff's it sucks. If your stuck with a sub optimal dance partner it sucks. I agree the dps on it feels a little lacking. I know we bring great utility, but if that utility is being used.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think a base potency buff is what's needed.
The narrator sounds hot 👀🙊
Dancer feels so good to play now, it really just needs a damage buff.
I just really want Starfall and fandance4 to replace the skills that proc them like all the others instead of being separate buttons.
Starfall is really underpowered. A lvl 90 skill that is only 600 potency with 70% fall off is just sad. Even with the devilment buff it's nothing special.
it crit though

@@pontuslundgren2038 I mean it's not as bad as SMN that's expected to do more than it does, a lot of jobs are lacking from what they're suppose to do like BLM and SAM so not many jobs are up to what they're supposed to be.
Yeah, outside of the 2 min burst the class is insufferably dull. I could not get it past 82, it just felt bad to play.
It is my least favorite class to play synced down now. At 86+ the burst is busy enough to feel fun, but below that it's soooo slow. It sucks they cut flourish's charges in half since that simplified things even more.
too many buttons
