Honestly this song just reminds me of finding yourself and who you are. Asking yourself what do you stand for and wondering how everyone else is finding themselves as well. Just being aware of that too. I also think it's about how when you get your dream career or if you are living your dream, the sacrifices you have to take to get there. This includes leaving friends and family, selling things, etc. Living your dream life requires a bunch of trade off decisions and sometimes, you fear that you'll regret some of your actions. You meet some great people while living your dream though and you're living it with them. So yeah that's just my perspective.

Honestly from the 1990s-2012 music saw some of the greatest songs to ever be written. 90s was punk rock and a developing rap genre, 2000s was a blend of hip hop, rap, and pop. Things went down hill in 2012 though, since then Rap has basically died barring the occasional good album made, pop is just naked women singing about themselves, and hip hop isnt even relevant today.
Lol mainstream music went downhill in 97 and stopped being good in 05, everything good that hit the top 40 has been a fluke. The next line "Here they come again to jack my style" flips it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
