Whoops…made this video a little too early! He’s now a 6-time World Champion!! Paul McBeth did it again!! I think in the length of his career (and he’s still very young) he can surpass Ken Climo. Ken Climo is great and will always go down as one of the best disc golf players in the history of the sport. But as they always say, in order to beat the best, you have to BE the best. I feel like out of every world this has been his biggest one. Not only because the field was stacked but i feel like he was beginning to believe what everyone was saying and that he was washed up. Sure hes still had a good season but not many wins and i seriously think he was questioning his ability this year on wether he can still compete or not. Thats why he was so emotional when he did win because he proved alot of people wrong and not only did he prove them wrong he did it hurt. The dude is a beast and hands down the best our sport has seen this far.
Reminded me of Golden State and Steph Curry...emotional win.
He seems to have singlehandedly invented what a professional disc golfer is, and without him I don’t think we’d see the level of play we do now. He’s given people a target to aspire to, so pulled pro disc golfs skill level up with him.

I do root for the underdog every year for majors, but I cannot deny that this man has worked his ass off every year since he started and deserves every win that he has. He's a classy, funny guy and I will never feel sour when he wins anything.
I started playing disc golf 9 years ago, and it's amazing how far the sport has come since then.

Since 2012, McBeth has not placed outside the top 2 in the World Championship.

Pretty decent summary of his accomplishments. However, I was expecting more statistics and comparisons to other past greats. I hope you take this great idea of a topic further. It is crazy how his overall season finishes are so consistent. There are so many good players now in 2022.

I've only recently started following the scene and AB is one of my favourite players.
That was his first time on lead card for worlds and I think it just got to him.
That was Worlds, 2019. Go back and give it a watch. Great footage. It was brutal watching AB fall apart the way he did. Final round jitters definitely got to him. He made a statement this year though with his strong finish at Worlds last weekend. Trying to run it down from chase card.

Theyll come with time. Its still not a huge sport yet but is getting bigger. over 50k watch the final round live and 2k were in person.

@@mawage666 Gossage played amazing. I feel like he just choked under pressure. Overall his game was way better than Paul. He had nervous low puts that hurt him. And ultimately I think the nerves got to him. He should have won. I wouldn’t be more surprised if we see more wins from him as he gets used to that winning pressure.
