LYRICS :
[Verse 1:]
Light As A Feather
When I'm Floatin Through
Readin Through The Daily News
Measuring The Hurt Within The Golden Rule,
Centimetres Of Ether I'm Heatin The Speaker
Motivational Teacher With Words That Burn People
Seeing The Headlines Lined With Discord
It's Either Genocide, All The Planet In Uproar
Never Good But Rules Of Paradise Are Never Nice
The Best Laid Plan Of Mice And Men Are Never Right
I'm Just A Vagabond With Flowers For Algernon
The Average Joe Who Knows What The Fuck Is Goin On
It's The Hope Of My Thoughts That I Travelled Upon
Fly Like An Arrow Of God Until I'm Gone
[Chorus:]
So I'm Driftin Away Like A Feather In Air
Lettin My Words Take Me Away From The Hurt And Despair
So I'm Keepin It Vertical Forever Elevator
Ridin The Escalator To The Somethin That Is Greater
So I'm Driftin Away Like A Feather In Air
Lettin My Soul Take Me Away From The Hurt And Despair
So I'm Keepin It Vertical Forever Elevator
Ridin The Escalator To The Somethin That Is Greater
[Verse 2:]
Taking Chances
Word Tap Dancing With Wolves
In An Ice Arena Out There, Deep In The Woods Of Arizona
The Sun Be High, Life's Ironic
Aint Tryin To Be Talib When I Write
Surreal Life I Paint It Vivid Habitat Crazy Insane
Watch The Propaganda 6 O'clock News That Are Saying
Cultures Clash For Black Folk And White Trash
They Revel In The Cyberspace That Might Crash
Dash To Millineum A Million Miles Of Runnin
At The Speed Of Now Back Don't Return Gunnin
Rambo Style Gunho Child Gunnin
Ammo Blao Two Times Loud Stunnin
Stunnin When I Hit Ya Lift You Off The Earth Like
Ayo Take You Right Back To Birth
And Niggaz Wonder Why They Might Wonder Why
This Shit Might Happen But It Does, They Go
[Chorus:]
Driftin Away Like A Feather In Air
Lettin My Words Take Me Away From The Hurt And Despair
So I'm Keepin It Vertical Forever Elevator
Ridin The Escalator To The Somethin That Is Greater
So I'm Driftin Away Like A Feather In Air
Lettin My Soul Take Me Away From The Hurt And Despair
So I'm Keepin It Vertical Forever Elevator
Ridin The Escalator To The Somethin That Is Greater
[Verse 3:]
Treat You Better Than Me
Because That's The Heavenly Key
To Unlock The Inner Strength
Where My Essence Will Be
It's The Knowledge Of Self
Understanding Of The Things Around Me
That Becomes The Wisdom That I Need
Living This Life To The Best Of My Ability
Channelling Energy To My Thoughts Into Your Symmetry
Remember Me Because My Clothes Remain Gold
I Got The Gift Of Gab Like Them Pimps In Kangols
It Never Ends I Keep It Rulin Like A Cypher
The First Caveman Bringin Fire
Innovating And Higher To Blast Mistakes I Raise The Stakes
It's Double Or Nothing In This Vaccuum-Less Space
I Will Survive,Divine The Time To Cry Fuck A Hold Or Hide I'm Alive With Pride
And I Drove The Chevy To The Levy
But The Levy Was Dry Singin "This Will Be The Day That I Die"
i can't express how often i come back to this song, its like a breath of fresh air every time.
for real! This is the real stuff.
This was the background music of a skate edit from 2011, eversince i’ve watched that this is one of my favorite hip hop songs

Real shit 💯👌
+Testostyrannosaurus this comment b copied on many nujabes songs doe.
+Giovanni Stracciari (Kaz) Shut your stupid ass up
+Testostyrannosaurus That was awesome, so is your handle, Hail the sun?
The title and the lyrics of this song always remind me of my grandad. He died in 2019. When I was a kid of about 8 or 9, I used to sit on a stool by the window in my grandparents' home, while my granddad stood beside me with binoculars, spotting birds for me to look at by the baths he'd put out to attract them. He and I would just sit there for awhile, and bond while we'd watch the birds make nests, take baths, and play together. I live far from where he grew up, but to this day I keep little birdfeeders on my apartment windows, and when I see them take flight, I always think about him, and this song hits me because the lyrics are about taking flight and ascending higher, just like he did, and just like I one day will. At least he didn't have to watch Covid happen in his twilight years.
This world is falling apart within itself and all I can do is recite this song and do what I can to help who I can. If anyone reads this, please stay strong, keep fighting, be kind, help someone. We have to restore peace and balance to this world.
Well said...this song brings me hope.
The hope is in Christ friend, the hope IS Christ i believe 🙏
I will restore peace and balance within me and in others through body awareness teachings.
I'M ON IT! 🤲

DavodianK give *Dj Honda* a go, i HIGHLY recommend his stuff.
Give Anitek - detox a listen to, you should like that too.
Nujabes was a true artist. Definitely one of the greatest of this generation, but sadly he was so underrated. RIP Nu.
Ikr. It's funny how there are some people that believe that he was mainstream. Their idea of mainstream is way too low. Still, I wish that his music was more listened to by people these days despite his death. RIP nuJabeS.
THE TRUE ARTIST
What happened to him?
HDcarrot
He died in a car accident.
I just started listening to him thanks to the Anime Man
Today marks 10 years since his passing. RIP
True legend 😭 RIP
Rest in beats
Rest in beats, Seba Jun
Rip😭😢
10 years went by so fast 😢
I really wish people would credit Cise right in the title, he deserves more exposure. Dude is one of the realest rappers in the game, no fluff, just poetry.
You know that there are two rappers in this song right? They are both from the group called CYNE.
Cise and Akin
I'd like to thank Samurai Champloo for introducing me to Nujabes :)
rip Manglobe
Yup......R.I.P
RIP Nujabes too.
Thank Nujabes for making samurai Champloo great
lol braking bad sended this to me somehow
Acidic Aroma what's braking bad?
We were given both Nujabes and J DIlla on the same day, and we would lose them both in the same month.
But it isn't about how they died, it's how they lived, and how we remember them.
Rest in beats Nujabes, Rest in beats J Dilla, you live in our minds and hearts.
their both on my bros bday and my bro is in love with them even after their passing
But it isn't about how they died, it's how they lived, and how we remember them.
Rest in beats Nujabes, Rest in beats J Dilla, you live in our minds and hearts.
could not say it better:) RIB
RIP my 2 favorite artists :(.
Your so deep i can´t even see you.
Yeah, rest in beats! Wisdom in truth
My father just passed away 2 days ago because of Covid-19, 3 months after my grand mother because of the same virus. This song just randomly played on the radio this morning and I instantly cried.. That's the first message from my dad, rest in Peace and say hi to Nujabes for me please..
🙏
🥺.
Rest In Peace, stay strong brother
My respects go towards you and your family
hope you fine mate. Keep strong
The fact that J Dilla and Nujabes were born on the same day is just incredible
Crazy
absolutely wild
same year too tf
God's plan
What a fact! I feel like knowing that gave me a whole new meaning on life.
"I'm pouring my heart out in everything written." -Nujabes
I have no redeeming qualities that’s not nujabes rapping tho lol
Psalm-style
@@wombocombo9628 He wrote the music. Composers get no respect even when their name's on the track, damn.
@@Caidezes He did not "write the music" nor is he a "composer". He was a great producer, with an ear for great samples a talent to turn these samples into great hip hop beats and he had a style on his own; but it is still a sample.
Also, like the user Wombo Combo said, that quote is not by Nujabes as he did not rap the lyrics. That is a quote by Substantial over a Nujabes beat.
@@Caidezes he literally wasn't rapping dumbass
You found your peace, so will we, we're coming mate!
goosebumps.. take my like...
Thank you kind sir :)
You described my feelings exactly man !

Love that reference to "Of Mice & Men" and the comparison to how our best plans never work out. Just like George and Lenny were going to get a little place, live off the fat of the land and feed the rabbits. It all went south pretty quickly for them. The reference to "Flowers for Algernon" is another great one. The word play and lyrical content is masterful.
the rappers here are underappreciated. they flowed so well with the beat
For everyone saying things like "i thought i was big on hiphop, how did i never know about nujabes?" well nujabes isn't the rapper.. nujabes was a legendary music producer.. the rapper is known as Cise Starr from the hiphop group Cyne.. you should check out his other stuff. Uyama Hiroto - Soul of Freedom feat. Cise Starr is one of my favorites
+ResoluteRecords There's actually two rappers in this one. Cise and Akin.
+ResoluteRecords What??? I had no idea that the rapper in this one was Cise from Cyne. I like this song even more now.
+ResoluteRecords nujabes is a dj who made original songs
+ResoluteRecords You claim to know what hip hop is, yet think that hip hop is only rapping...
+igli2pac Where does he claim anything about him knowing about hip hop ???
I think it's kind of funny that this song was uploaded almost 8 years after it was released (2005) but to so many, it is new, and was only found because it got uploaded by a large channel. At the same time, I'm just glad people found it at all.
Agreed brother. When I first heard of Nujabes masterpiece back in the days was through my cousin playlist. I miss music back in the 2000's. I was around 8 years old then and now I'm 19. This was one of my favorite songs along with Luv Miss listening to J Dilla, DJ Okawari, Ethnic Descent and much more.
+NateCLPhoto Damn
Yup, discovered Nujabes through Samurai Champloo way back in 2007. I'm definitely not against people discovering great music through a popular channel, for as long as they don't say shit like "I discovered X song thanks to
You know someone has god-tier production skills when even after 11 years that this song was made , it still feels fresh and is relevant.
shing02, nujabes, tsutchie, force of nature, minmi, midicronica, fat jon, their songs are so good to listen while playing minecraft 😩😫
listening to them while playing minecraft rn lmao
nujabes died, because god needed a dope ass dj, for putting vibes on in heaven
God has Dilla and Nujabes, he'd better take good care of them.
Bruh the amount of artists God has up in heaven, it must be so lit rn
Exactly
Will x Killeur God sounds like a selfish jerk.
gdffgdf dgfg You took this differently. I can see from your side but this was his way of coping or else he would be pretty sad. Don’t call him out on it.
Rest in Peace Nujabes, I never knew you, but I miss ya!
Thought "I haven't listened to nujabes in awhile," turned this on and now I'm really sad.
Ah man. I'm riding the feels train too bro. Choo...choo...*sobs*
my thoughts too. im sorry nujabes for my long absence.
Callum Bell absolutely
Callum Bell It's sad cuz if you think about it, that's a ton of other good songs that will never happen now
MrGreyWolfAlpha It only inspires me.
I met this girl in college and one of the reasons we bonded was because we both knew nujabes. She is probably the one person I've bonded with the most in my life but sadly our relationship started to turn violent so we had to end the relationship. We've moved on ever since and we live different lives now. Somehow this song reminds me of her and even though we hurt each other badly I hope she's doing well
One of those songs you just never want to end, I could listen to him rapping over this beat for eternity
jun ...NEVER GON REALLY DIE. u wit us forever, we will remember you.
Rest in peace Nujabes, we love you
This helped my mental health while studying anatomy at university, since then I often listen to the whole album when I have to study for something else. Thanks Nujabes, you really were too good for this world, weren’t you?
I think the same
listened to this song years ago, just came back from jhopes live and remembered this :( 💜🕊
obluda this song is old but still gold
I'm from jhope's live too, but I didn't know this song before. How many good songs out there that I still haven't heard of
x ROJER x yes it is! in my opinion, nujabes influenced a lot of beats that are produced in today’s world. too bad he died :(, but he will forever be a legend 💜
Liss V sometimes I wonder that too (of all the good songs out there that I have not heard of yet), but it’s great that you found out about this one :D 💜
"motivational teacher with words that burn people" shit was fire before fire was even meme.
vere naice
was this nujabes actually verse?
no nujabes was DJ
taylorkranda cyne does the rhyming here. If you like their style check out their song Steady
It's hard to express how happy i am that i've discovered artists like Nujabes, Fat Jon, DJ Okawari, Marcus D, Substantial, CYNE, DJ Krush, Uyama Hiroto, Pase Rock, Pharoah Sanders, Yusef Lateef, Haruka Nakamura, Shing02 and Emancipator. Thank God i listen to these artists that encourage me to become a better character instead of Mainstream bullshit. I feel immensely sorry for the people who haven't discovered these artists yet, they're truly missing out.
You forgot about logic!
+Øyvind Nordbø Yes, my bad. Logic is crazy af too =)

Why do good artists die young ;_;
Drugs my friends :). A good death thought.
+Ylhan Joum nujabes didn't die of drugs he died from a car crash in 2010
+Ylhan Joum nah he died from a car accident
+Ylhan Joum ignorance is bliss
John Velasco I wasn't talking about nujabes but about artist in general, "why do good artists die young" he was talking about nujabes but also other artists. And most of them die cause of drugs or alcohol. I wasn't clear in what I said but you guys wasn't clever to make a conclusion out of that.
The beat, the melody, the verse, the flow, the word plays, omg, this song..... it's just too good
"The rules of paradise are never nice, the best laid plans of mice and men are never right."
Universal truth.
I'm honestly surprised that Nujabes didn't become a household name. His music was (and still is) catchy and memorable I know that many youtubers and musicians such as The Super Best Friends, Maxmoefoe, Joji (aka filthy frank) Sky (the league player) Dunkey (I think) and MMOxMXR ( I think that's how you spell it, that one mod review guy) use and like his work. But I would love for someone to make more music like this and pick up where he left off and popularize the style. Joji used to make the same kinda rainy day beat feel that I associated with Nujabes but he's sorta left that behind in order to focus on what his fans want (which is something I can respect) but I just really think that this style and feel could have a lot of untapped potential.
+This Is Not Even My Final Form The thing is you never know what is going to take off. I'm sure this garbo r&b phase will end soon. I honestly think obscure genres like vaporwave or chillwave will become household genres in a few years. And the chill/hiphop genre has been bombarded with generic beats.
Nicely said!
Wait. Those UA-camrs used those songs?! When?! Mainly the two that I want to know are MaxMoeFoe, the retired prank caller, and MxR the mod reviewer that focuses mainly on mods that increase the immersion of the game that is being modded.
+theLoveRocketjr max used a few in his blogs and mmo used them in a GTA mod review
+The Chunky Trucker they don't even mention them though they just use his music and usually they use some of his deeper cuts
R.I.P Nujabes

I believe it's time to rewatch Samurai Champloo.

Today would have been his 45th birthday. Rest in beats :(
This is one of the coolest hip-hop songs that I've ever listened to.
Rap for the soul, love Nujabes
and the positive energy he continues to spread through his music. RIP brother
Richard Handler i love that someone with an opeth profile picture said this. Very seldom do i actually listen to rap because of how recycled most of the audio is. But here we see a perfect example of the contrary.
And he never cared about being famous. With so much potential and unique style. Rest in peace man I really wished you could stay more time with us in this world.
I was in a dark period when i first discovered this song. 8 years later, this song still triggers so much emotions and nostalgia...RIP nujabes
Suffering with depression but Nujabes helps me through. Truly lost at times but this song gives me hope. Thank you Seba
R.I.P Nujabes. But he will live on within his music - by making my day everytime this happy tune comes on =D
Aydarus Hassan how'd he die?

Such a beautiful track. Got nothing but love for Nujabes.

I have played this song to a multitude of people over the years, who have never heard of Nujabes. It's always a look, a smile and silence...

Seba Jun, imo, doesn't get the recognition he deserves. His music is life saving. The most painful yet the most beautiful phase of

Wow I feel this comment
To me this song feels more like a prayer to myself, to fight the evil within me, to see life for its simple pleasures and to be cheerful despite the chaotic and mad world we live in
Nujabes was incredible. A shame one of the most talented producers of our generation passed away so young. I listen to Counting stars every day. RIP Nujabes. The world misses you.
My drug is nujabes
😳
+dyfr I don't understand people, who have to take drugs to enjoy music. Maybe thats because they are listening to dubstep or something. Only thing you need is great music like this, and you are far more satisfied than with drugs.
Nujabes and weed, perfect combination

日本人はlofiをあんまり認知していないけど、nujabesが海外にひろめていって海外で広めてくれて、本当に彼は素晴らしい音楽の芸術家だと思います。
I never realized how profound the effect of music could be on the human soul til I listened to Nujabes starting several years ago and in particular this song, which was my first. There were other factors, and as corny as it may sound, I credit his music as part of the reason I am alive today. His works helped bring me peace at difficult times. I wish he was alive today so I could thank him in some way, but I guess the least we can do now to honor his memory is listening to his music and telling others about it, which is why I am happy about jhope introducing new listeners, and I hope others feel the same as well.
You don't corny at all, or we both do haha. And I'm glad to see you're still with us brotha.
I just rediscovered this song after years of not listening to it. Hearing it again brought back tears and a flood of memories in which I used this song to be able to cope with traumatic events in my own upbringing, and focus myself into the person I wanted to be today. I feel incredibly lucky that this was produced and that we were able to hear it in such dark times. It brings me hope to see Nujabes' works are still getting recognition today.
@@FlowLikeWater2 Thank you for saying so, I'm glad to still be here. I really appreciate you sharing your own experience as well. Best of luck
I totally feel you, bro. This got me through some dark times. It's still not easy these days, but these songs help me through all the bullshit of life and help me see the beauty of it all.
I usually prefer to listen to Heavy and Thrash Metal but I approve this song.

Metal isn't the only genre to listen to really. This kind of a comment seems quite obsolete to me.
Braxium well, that's his opinion :D
I almost cried in school thinking about Nujabes
Discovering this video, five years ago, during my freshman year of college was my gateway to Nujabes! From there I listened to everything from Feather to Arurian Dance to the Perfect Circle homework edits to the Modal Soul album. Five years later, during Covid-19 quarantine, I watched Samurai Champloo for the first time and was reintroduced to Nujabes. I felt as if it was my first time discovering his music all over again. This time, in a different context. I will always be thankful that Nujabes' music has been such a key part of my journey into adulthood. Rest in peace, brother!
Thank you Nujabes! You're always in our hearts! Its been a while since I've listened to this. I'm not sad now, just happy. Happy, that Nujabes is still her within his music ❤

Everyone is sad about Jun Seba's death... But think about it this way:
The fact that we listen to his music and feel moved by it, makes him as alive as he could ever be, he will always be alive as long as we continue to feel this way with his music.
