Clearly the death star is basically just a catalyst for planet exploding- It uses a (comparatively) small amount of energy to disturb the planet's core which provides the real destructive force.
On an even more understandable level, there is no recoil because the Death Star is shooting energy at the planet, not using force. If it were pushing things at the planet in a mass-driver setup, it would indeed have recoil (but only of the projectile and not the whole planet).
As for the explodey-planet bits and hot magma being shot back, two solutions: 1. just stay far enough out of range that the majority won't hit you, 2. shield the station close enough to the station to cover the small area that is actually towards the station.
James Dreger also, light has no mass so there would be no kick
Brickblox Light does infact push things, but the force is negligible. But then again, the deathstar probably uses very much energy at once it might actually do something.
Don’t forget the Death Star had a hyperdrive, as well as thrusters to allow it to adjust its aim/lumber through space at low speeds. They’d probably be enough to mitigate any recoil that might be created, if any at all.
Am I the only one who thinks Brian's go-to thing just middle fingers and yelling "fuck you"
Brian: "Smash cut to us wearing eye protection." * laugh riot*
* smash cut to them wearing eye protection*
4:04 but without context
2:51 *The Modern Rogue gets a copyright strike audio plays*
Nice "The Sandman" reference at 1:22. I love you guys just that little bit more now.
Heh. Thanks. Glad somebody caught that.
I was just about to type this myself. heh
Brandt, Bryce, Brian, and then we've got *Jason*
It’s like the pacman ghosts
I used to work at a shop where we cut large amounts of particle board. The particle board is made from sawdust and glue. The dust that would collect under the table saw was very fine. I was able to do the dribble thing you did with that dust and get a ball of fire that would go all the way up to the 20 ft ceiling. It was amazing and fun. It was also dangerous but that element was not noticed.
"blow back in your mouth" my favorite scene from "Creamer Nutty" :)
I want a beard sample from jason
I am so glad I came across this channel
Captions on at 1:57
Thank me later
Why tho...
“Doug Dimmadome? Owner of the Dimsdale Dimmadome?” 2:57
Well the Death Star was basically a giant ball, with several giant lightsabers that converged into one mega-lightsaber, and as we all know, lightsabers can cut through *almost* anything
The end of this video is when you realize Brian and Jason know almost nothing about physics
Correct!
Except when it comes to the thermodynamics of fire and non-dairy coffee creamer.
Brian, Kyber crystals.
They got da force yo

"Before Selsun Blue..."
I totally forgot that stuff even existed. That's like a throwback to daytime TV ads in the late 90s, with *average men* doing *normal things* but somehow surrounded by women at least slightly more attractive than would be honestly expected for someone who likes rubbing another person's head on a semi regular basis.
Lasers do not have recoil. Also you only need enough energy to trigger a cataclysmic event, as in expanding the core, by heating it up, so the planet explodes, which could be done by storing energy very densely or if we go really wild, negative energy. But that latter is only theoretical and not mentionend in Star Wars.
-The German that approved the purity joke in the beer episode.
I’m in bed hungry and I thought this was a solution to my problem, now I have to think about how the death shouldn’t star works
6:40 well ACTUALLY, Laser weapons would not actually have any recoil, because light, and therefore lasers, do not have mass, so there is no push back by the laser. And for the "all reactions have an equal and opposite reaction," it would generate heat, which would probably be more terrifying than recoil.
Jack Dodge but if the lasers were made out of plasma which is a more likely scenario for weaponization it would have some sort of kickback
I fucking love this
you know you are here fast when the best quality is 360p 😂
Death star had a huge power source. its a major nuclear reactor style thingie. and lasers have no recoil being pure energy.
While we are on the topic of little things blowing up big things, can we talk about tomahawk cruise missles and IED compounds?
So, the death star is supposed to be the size of a small moon. The second Death Star is supposed to be bigger than that, but is clearly smaller than the forest moon of Endor. wtf?
It's actually quite simple. The Death Star uses the Lost Orb of Phanastacoria.
Yeah. The Death Star is a bad idea. Mind you that Starkiller base isn't any better. The thing is supposed to be able to pretty much swallow a star, but somehow gravity remains the same, and the planet doesn't implode.
You are pathetic, It would not implode, you're just saying it to seem smart you piece of shit...
People must've already told Brian that he looks like Tim Shaw
How does a nuke size ~ 2m*.5m blow up an area of a few km and fuck up a lot more?
Cuz IM A MODERN ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOUGE!
The title of the Video makes no sense until you watch the video and it still doesntmake Sense.
I think it's how UA-cam processes things.
death star wouldn't have recoil cause light doesn't have mass
what's with the elevator music?
Murphy has a gnome face at 4:29
Light has no mass
actually photons do have mass. read a book
Huey Freeman Photons are massless. They carry energy but have no mass themselves which is why they are able to travel at light speed, as to cause anything with mass to go that fast would require infinite energy.
why is this only 360p
Because you saw it right after we uploaded. UA-cam basically takes the file you upload, and re-encodes it into low resolution, low bitrate files to optimize for their system -- starting with 360p and working its way up to whatever resolution you uploaded. It usually just takes a few minutes, depending on how big the source file is (this video, for instance, is already viewable in 1440, but hasn't hit 4K yet)
Am I the only person that read the title as "How to Eat Your Eyes"????
2:08
This is why drugs are bad kids!
say now to drugs
6:08 mickey mouse does science
2:48 That's not mean though. It's teaching them. Veritasium did a video on why he looks like a jerk in his videos, when he asks people questions, and they say stupid things. It comes down to correction being a good way to teach, because unless you say why someone's wrong they'll think they're right.
Wait, so is Modern Rogue scripted or not?
No, you can see our process in our First Pass Edits- ua-cam.com/play/PLJp0X6DVFEci58q6vWxEVcJtwFkeleb43.html
