- Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman met with the media on Monday to take a look back at the loss to LSU and preview the upcoming Week 5 matchup with Texas A&M in Arlington on Saturday. Here's what he had to say about the Razorbacks and Aggies.

From watching Aggie so far this year, Petrino has had an impact. Similar offensive philosophy, but better situational awareness and play-calling than ol' Jimbo.
Coach Pittman is a great coach. Yes, its been rough the last few games, but im confident our coaching staff will correct our flaws. Go Hogs!

I love coach pit. He's real and what this program needs right now. For the haters... look at our past. We would have begged to be bowl worthy. I know coach isn't Saben or even Patrino but right now he is what we need. I'm hopeful for a strong finish to this season. ... ok, let my bashing begin.
When Sam Pittman said, "Everyone knows I'm fat. Everyone knows I've got a big chest." It just hurt me to know that he saw those comments. To be honest, Razorback fans probably don't deserve this man as a coach. I hope he also saw a lot of posts supporting him. I support him. I think he is doing a fantastic job as our football coach.
I agree 👍... To say such bad things to such a nice, respectful, loving man is totally unacceptable unacceptable !! Some of these stupid young people need their asses whipped !

I am an Auburn fan. But I will say the personal attacks on Pittman are uncalled for and I hope he knows most of us football fans don't approve of it. On the field results are fair game, but personal attacks are not - especially on a guy like Pittman who is a stand-up guy by all accounts.

Appreciate the sentiments on social media, and it sucks that it’s pretty much required for coaches to do their jobs anymore.

One. Game. At. A. Time. Focus just on A&M. Reduce/eliminate the petty penalties. We got this Coach. Shut out the haters - they’re just noise. Ya got plenty of hard core fans.
If the fix the mental mistake penalties and get more consistent in the red zone we'll be fine. If we play like we did vs lsu and fix those issues. We could win out. Nobody left really scares me, they're all beatable if we dont beat ourselves.

@@ts4426 does it mean they can't? The issue isn't we can't, the issue is we can but haven't yet. All the issues can be fixed, it's not for a lack of talent. Maybe they'll finish strong or maybe we'll all be sitting here saying "maybe next year" like we always have been. Time will tell.

Must be nice. I’ve given up. I don’t get my hopes up anymore for this team. I’ll cheer for them. I want them to win. But nothing surprises me with this team anymore. I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost to Arkansas school for the blind.
I’m sure we’ll find more ways to lose games. 6-6 if we’re lucky.
Taped the LSU game and finally got to watch it. IMO, Singleton and Clark need some more work, have up some long balls. We suck at zone, covering grass. Enos had some bonehead calls at time, but KJ made him look good at times.
Biggest takeaway, penalties! My God, if we’re not false starting, we’re holding.
I will say on that last LSU drive, that pass play was definitely offensive pass interference. He clearly shoved the defender away from him. Overall, not a terrible performance and Pitt has a lot of work to do. Recievers looked good. Go Hogs!

Some razorback fans are plain disgusting. Be better. A coach can do the right thing 90% of the time and all you look at is the 10 and attack them. I think if you don't like this team or the coach go cheer for someone else.
They don't understand what a coach can control and what he can't control. They don't appreciate that he publicly protects people that he might have his foot half-way up their butt in private. They see a loss and not that play was better this week. They see a loss and not that we were 1 penalty in the red zone from beating LSU even with the 4th quarter field goal.
To be fair this is the most traumatized, embittered fan base on the planet. I don’t blame them. They’ve been hurt over and over.

Aggie here. Give the Hogs full credit for Pittman. Love that guy. Dont think he is a top HC but solid man and solid mentor of young men. Credit given. I would love to have him on our staff.

Pittman looks quite perflexed and totally frustrated at times in this interview. Borderline confused. Clearly he has far too much on his mind and thats not a good thing for Ark. He is not enjoying his job right now. That isn't going to help on Saturday. Vegas? Listening?

I want to win Southwest Classic against Texas A&M. I feel we can beat them we have KJ, Hasz, good front 7, Green, and Dubinion. Hopefully Rocket returns soon. I was proud of our Hogs. I was at Golden Boot game. I feel we showed the nation we can run with LSU one of best teams in nation. We should of won. I know we can beat A&M in Dallas.

You say what makes us good is you don’t know when we’re gonna beat opponents? Well I say the opposite. What makes us bad is you never know when we’re gonna shit the bed and lose to a byu or Missouri or Liberty. Good teams know how to win. We are the most inconsistent team when it comes to wins.
Venting about a football game is one thing, personally attacking someon's looks is a horse of a different color. Calling coach fat, man boobs etc. and no telling what all behind a keyboard is beneath contempt. I'm 59, almost as old as coach and i've got the same things. Most of us do. So what? That dang TV set and the scrap-pulp magazine rack and now social media has people thinking that people are supposed to look like movie stars and the models on the magazine covers. It's not very many people who can look like that. The ones making these personal attacks on Sam probably don't look to good with a shirt off themselves. I know I sure don't and haven't since my early 20's. These people need to get right with God!

And don't forget that gluttony is one of the 7 deadly sins. It’s not difficult to be a healthy weight and physically fit. Eat less. Move more. It doesn’t surprise me one bit that the team is as undisciplined on the field as Sam is off of it. Just being honest.

Weigman get nervous in big game like vs Miami or first half vs Auburn. He threw horrible.
Max Johnson has 3 years experiences to play vs big opponents so it makes him throw accurate because no nervous. Weigman needs 1 more year to grow up playing vs big school

Average? They have at least 2 1sr rounders on the DL and all 6 will be in the NFL in a few years. Stewart is a 1-2nd round pick. They have guys all over the field. There’s a reason why they are 7 point favorites. Wake up.

Such a ridiculous thing to say lol yes Pittman needs to do better but he’s light years better than morris who couldn’t even make it through 2 full seasons. Worst coach in the history of college football. Pittman has at least had some success at Arkansas. Morris never even beat a power 5 opponent at Arkansas.

Can’t lie.....frustrated, aggravated and just plain pissed off. If we could manage to just play fundamentally sound football we would be 4-0. We can’t get out of our own way whether it’s penalties, KJ using up all the TO’s, Enos trying to get a half yard from the shotgun, OL is a mess, punter is liable to kick it for 65 yards or shank the hell out of it........but, I’m still a Hawgfan as hard as it is.
